2023-02-20 20:22:16 +0000 UTCyeah Jotaros family is rich (his dad is a famus jazz musician), Joseph is rich (he is a famous Real Estate company owner and the grandson of Jonathan who was also rich) so Jotaro is going to inherit a 3rd of the his wealth. and he have friends and connections to the speedwagon foundation. i guess the first non-rich JoJo we have is Josuke? altho he is also at some point going to inherit a 3rd of Josephs wealth? even tho he did say not to bother with it in episode 1

Anyway Music references and Stand Info episode 7 Toshikazu Hazamada’s Stand, Surface gets its name from the American R&B group of the same name. Surface is the thirteenth Stand so far to be part of a Stand category called “Bound Stands”, Stands that are inherently bound to an object and as such, can be seen and interacted with by normal people, in this case being bound to a human sized art mannequin. Surface’s ability is complete physical mimicry, being able to almost completely copy a person’s physical appearance by facing them, with the only noticeable difference being a screw in Surface’s forehead. Once copied, the person will copy Surface’s movements so long as Surface is standing in front or them or in eye sight.

Angelo being an exception because he was pretty confident in his Stand that turns into must, that couldn't really be hurt by physical attacks, so Start Platinum couldn't really damage it. And even like that, he could never get to Jotaro since he simply stopped time and pushed it away, so he ended aiming mainly at Josuke.

It’s just that the story is written in such a way where he doesn’t get many moments to shine. But the few moments he gets later on shows us he’s still no slouch in battle.

When he says "another one bites the dust" that's a translator being a little cheeky, not an Araki music reference. Hazamada's stand is named Surface after the American band. Today's Duwang translation: "you OK reatard? I am wood. stupid" - Surface, when Hazamada punches him.
