Part of the inspiration for the art style was when Araki took a trip to Italy and got to see a bunch of renaissance art so he likes to write in Italian references whenever he can to pay tribute, for example that's why the Zepellis were Italian.

Our heads are similar densities, hearts are similar sizes and shapes, and we have a similar fat content to them. Apparently humans taste a lot like pork according to cannibals and, having smelled burning flesh due to my dad always burning himself in the kitchen, it do smell like bacon lol. Also, veal is calf, not lamb. For this culinary sin, you don't get to go to Tonio's.

I guess I tend to think of "filler" as something that neither shows character traits/progression nor advances the plot and I don't see anything like that here. I wouldn't say Part 4 is 70% filler though. Like 30% max. But good filler.

I think the only spoilers for the first one are for limbgrave (Godrick), liurnia (rennala) and cailed (radagon) so its not too far into the game only like 1 or 2/5ths of it. would also recommend his metal gear rising ones too, they're not as visually explosive as the ultrakill one. I am not immediately aware of any references this makes so am not sure why the name change. only way I know to check if Ant is fake is to ask him for a request on the day of his daughter's wedding. No true Sicilian man can refuse those. Tonio is the perfect example of Stands representing one's fighting spirit, not necessarily meaning physical fighting. He's determined to fight illness his way, and his Stand accentuates that spirit completely. He's also an example of a colony stand, like Keicho. But best part, he is the first time a 'villain of the week' wasn't actually a villain.

I forget where exactly but he was volunteering, building houses and stuff somewhere in Africa and his group helped out in like a proper tribal village, like living off the land, basically no tech, old traditions. The elder of that village had passed away and it was apparently tradition there that everyone in the village ate a little piece of his flesh to symbolically carry his spirit with them after his passing. The volunteers were offered to partake in the tradition so they all had a small piece. My friend described it as similar to pork but stringier. Might be that the man was just old but idk. Tonio Trussardi is one of the few rare references that are not to music but to fashion. Nicola Trussardi is apparently a fashion designer, can't say I know much about fashion but that's the reference. Araki is absolutely a giant Italy fan. It's not the first or the last time Araki will be furiously masturbating to the concept of Italy. Tonio's Pearl Jam brings up an important lore point which is that aside from getting hit by the stand arrow some people just get stands just from sheer determination. Tonio wanted to save the world with food so his mind manifested a stand. And I just gotta say that I love the idea of a healing stand that is 100% benefitial but it has to do some body horror to you first. "I'm gonna fix that spaghetti!"

And without spoiling too much, the theory that Arakai just went to Italy and had some bomb ass food and thanked the chef in his own way, is very probable given later JoJo episodes. And the previous one with Joseph eating Risotto Nero, for that matter.

Also, there’s a series of one-shot spin-offs that give him some backstory; his journeying the world has been him looking for ingredients he can use to heal his girlfriend’s cancer. So, uh, he can fix everything wrong with you but that, Alicia. Sorry. Also, I’m just a rando on the internet so grain of salt, and you probably already know this, but be careful using whitening strips; they wear down your tooth enamel.

Pearl Jam’s ability is being able to heal ailments through consumption of Tonio’s food. Once inside the body, Pearl Jam will expel whatever ailments through rather gruesome means, then will proceed to rapidly fix the person in question. Interesting thing to note is that Pearl Jam has no involvement on the taste of Tonio’s dishes whatsoever, so if a dish there is bomb, it’s cause Tonio is a godly chef.

2023-02-23 14:25:33 +0000 UTCYou know what's cool about Pearl Jam and Tonio ? It's that with Tonio we learn that one can acquire a stand naturally without being born with one! When you are at such a high level with a craft like Tonio is with cooking, you can develop a stand related to you craft. Pearl Jam basically enhances the properties of food by a bajillion, Tonio only uses really high end ingredients for that purpose too iirc. That stand can even cure incurable diseases! It's unclear wether Pearl Jam makes the food taste better or not but I like to imagine that Tonio is just THAT talented. Also, Araki LOVES Italy, it's probably his favourite place outside of Japan.

There are actually no laws that refer directly to consuming human meat, but how you get it is the tricky part. Assuming you did not "harvest" it from a living person yourself, you'd usually still get charged with graverobbing or desecration of a corpse at a minimum. Autocannabalism is probably the least desirable, but legally, it is the most viable option. *obvious disclaimer not from personal experience, I just know weird facts*
