2023-03-13 08:18:04 +0000 UTCThe reveal was actually just as nonchalant in the manga as well XD Most of the panel was taken up by Hange and the rest discussing irrelevant stuff, with the "I'm the armored titan" speech bubble from Reiner off on the far right-hand-side of the panel, coming almost from off-screen. That being said, the anime did so much justice to this scene by making it ten times more suspenseful. With a manga you dictate the pace yourself, so the scene can go by really quickly, but with the anime they take the time to build up the suspense to a crescendo so it always feels like something's off, but the twist is still just as shocking somehow
