If I'm not mistaken Donald Glover has written his own movie alongside his comedy troupe called Derrick Comedy. Derrick Comedy is the comedy troupe Glover co created back in 2005 I think. I believe and the movie came out before he started on Community. Donald Glover was also doing stand up comedy before he started in Community. He even has a comedy central stand up special
