Attack on Titan Ep 12 (S2)

Season 2 Finale!!! LETS GOOOO

Attack on Titan Ep 12 (S2)

Comments

The thing that fucked me up after figuring out that titans were humans, is that girl that Sasha saved in the village? Most likely saw he father turn into that 2-3 meter small titan only to eat her mother alive right in front of her. But that's assuming it was her father of course.

Harry Swinburne

i had that cry laugh when my stepdad died. like i was in such a weird mind space when he past, cause my mom and i where in the livingroom when they stopped trying to bring him back. all i could do was step outside and laugh which sounds crazy.

llamaboss3526

Yo bro why you gotta do this fr fr delete this shit

Nolan Holmberg

oh, something else, quick count and season three is 22 episodes long. There's an intro/outro change after episode 12.

Adriborte

The monster they’re trapped in is in control. The human underneath can’t really do much if anything. Awful? Yes. But likely a mercy to the trapped person, and it protects others.

Adriborte

It doesn't make it any less awful

Harper

Fun fact if ya didn't catch it, the voice actor for the beasty boi at the end also voices dio.... Erwins VA voices Jotaro sooo AOT is a jojo reference??. Bout to get some muda muda ora oras in up in here. Also also, dio's VA voices shirogane's dad in love is war mans the goat.

Kieren

When I first saw that person I thought it was erens father in the monketoo! but he wasnt blond

Memento Forever

I'm just happy we stuck to calling him Barry this whole time.

Cowboy

And how do you propose to free the human underneath that Titan? Same question with an infected zombie. Ymir described it as a nightmare, after all

Adriborte

Yuki Kaji is an absolute goat of voice acting, I believe he even chowed down on his own hand when recording this ep to make it sound believable.

Aethergoggles

Well then you just contradicted what you originally said. The person is still in there. Therefore they are still human underneath. And I didn’t “get into” anything, I kept it vague enough so people that have seen the show would understand but those who don’t would still be in the dark. Obviously shifters aren’t the same as normal Titans, that’s something that’s been known since season 1.

GraffitiTurtle

Fun fact. ISAYAMA wanted to draw them kissing during this scene but was too embarrassed to do it, and he said since he didn't know how exactly to do romance, he didn't want it to take away from the main plot of the series (paraphrasing btw)

TrinitytheApostle

Thanks for the chapter

TrinitytheApostle

And what would you say of an infection type zombie? Take a look at games like dead island or dying light. The infected enemies. They are essentially rabid humans, still somewhat there and crying out, but unable to control their actions. Also, true nature? We shouldn’t get into that in the comments.

Adriborte

No, they’re still human. Ymir (someone who was a mindless Titan for a long time) compared it to being “trapped in a nightmare”. They have no control over what they do in this state, but they’re still there. They’re not really zombies. They’re more like giant hungry sleepwalkers than anything else. Besides, if they weren’t still human somehow, the true nature of Titan shifters wouldn’t be possible in the first place.

GraffitiTurtle

your analogy regarding the person vs a wolf against a person vs another person turned into a wolf. The issue is, these people turned into titans, they're all acting in a generally predictable manner. they're a creature, and if they're attacking you, it's still a 'you or me' situation. When you know the person inside can hear you, there's a case to try to reason. But as the two captured titans from season one showed...they can't be reasoned with. They can't be talked down. In that sense, a better analogy is more these titans, the ones not controlled like Eren's, Annie's, Ymir's, Reiner's, or Bertholdt's....they're more akin to zombies. They used to be human, but they aren't anymore. I've always seen the show as kind of a colonial era tech zombie apocalypse, just that the zombies were giants.

Adriborte

Someone must've not understood what no spoilers meant...

James Decker

hey aliciaxlife been watching you for less than a year love your reaction keep doing you but for attack on titan Reiner have brought up the word "coordinate" a few times but you haven't said anything about it. I just want to get your perspective on what you think he might be talking about and what you think the "coordinate" could be as someone who only watched up too season 2 ? other than that keeping being strong and get ready for season 3

Cesar Jesus Gonzales

it's probably such a sense of hopelessness that your subconscious is trying to trigger a dopamine rush to get you back on track. The sorrow plus the dopamine just confuses things more and puts you in a semi manic state, crying and laughing at once.

Adriborte

IT WAS I, DIO!

I've been in the exact same situation with that screaming laughter. Once when I lost two of my best friends in a car wreck, zoned out and lost an hour of time as well. And again when mu husband left me and I found out he was cheating on me. It's like there's so much to feel and your body and mind can't process it so the extreme laughter is your body releasing tension in the only way it can under all that pressure. And yeah...it does feel like a strange high. You're not abnormal, it's a perfectly normal reaction.
