This has to be one of my favorite episodes of the show, Kenny's story is so interesting. The concept of everyone being drunk on something to keep pushing on is such a great overarching theme to the series it can apply to pretty much everyone. The fact he describes his 'thing' as power but in reality it seems to be the idea of feeling compassion on the level Uri had when he met him by inheriting his power is so fascinating. Once he found out he would never be in that position as the power didn't work that way he had nothing to keep pushing him on and thus... Its amazing that the storytelling is able to convey all those undertones without having Kenny expressly say it since its very clear he doesn't express emotions like that outwardly. AoT continues to write characters that feel like real people with real motivations that you can understand and relate to without feeling like someone is evil just because they need to be an antagonist.

There were other times when Levi could've snapped at other people for being phenomenally stupid, but he only ever really got physical when there was something to be gained from doing so (like the court scene, or the numerous interrogations he did this season). I still remember how oddly calm he was when those two scouts from season 1 tried to retreive the bodies and ended up screwing people over for it. Most people would've lost their shit at that, but Levi instead chose to respond with compassion because he recognised that what's done is done and that blowing up at them wouldn't change anything.

2023-04-01 17:02:53 +0000 UTCOk he did snap that one time in the No Regrets OVA, but that was worthy of it. Emotionally distraught Levi snapping makes more sense than aggravated Levi snapping.

Makes sense why Isayama agreed to have it cut from the anime (I assume, since he was working closely with Wit by this point).
