Mob Psycho 100 Episode 6 (S3)

I ran out of tissues watching this and had to go get another box. Dimple waving goodbye with his one remaining arm while Shigeo smiles back at him. The floodgates are open.

This is hardly the only example in the series (or the author's other works) but this episode really exemplifies ONE's technical ability as a writer, especially for the genres he writes in. Any other show could still have all the same emotional beats but it would be parallel with the fighting. Comparatively here, we get both but they're a little disjointed because yes, we are all here in some part for superpower psychic battles, but the actual meaningful part of the work is the relatable character growth. I think the best part is Dimple's understanding and praise for Mob's purposeful reservation in spite of having godlike power now that he can understand somewhat what that is like. It really just feels like the kind of moment you'd have with a friend when you or they get some real inkling of whatever it is that they're dealing with and it serving to deepen the relationship. The rest of the season is fire but this will always be the climactic part of the series for me.

It’s crazy that Dimple was literally consumed by his own ambition. It sucks since he finally realized what was important to him and what made him happy. It’s unfortunate that it was all too late.

I would put this as the second best ending of a series i have ever seen, but it is perfect for this show, i couldnt imagine a better ending for Mob Psycho. But yeah, this arc hurts.
