It's been four years since only Reiner returned. They spent five years on Paradis growing up and training as part of the military before they made their second attack and Eren awakened.

2023-04-22 01:39:09 +0000 UTCIt was quite a cool misdirect early on when he's intrigued by the odm gear, which with the imagery in the intro and the fact his titan looks like something prehistoric, makes it seem like he's impressed because he's never seen anything as advanced, when in reality he's from a much more advanced society.

2023-04-21 18:30:52 +0000 UTCbecause its like the actors are told, always mind you, that they need to be more animated than the animation, if that makes sense. theres just an unnatural way they move that sticks out. like how udo is bouncing up and down as hes emoting, the way gabi's father holds her at the table. its just weird.

2023-04-21 18:17:25 +0000 UTCPeople tend to misunderstand Reiner in that scene on the train, he put the fear of god in Falco so that he wouldn't start casually badmouthing being a warrior in front of someone less lenient because that would be a death sentence. Also yeah, Reiner isn't overcompensating he's just busy saving everyone's asses from being turned into titan fodder.

2023-04-21 18:13:56 +0000 UTCI mean, the rotoscoping itself has nothing to do with the time crunch, it's a stylistic choice by the director (Daisuke Tokudo). Otherwise the characters would have barely moved at all, as per usuall. The quality of it is another thing entirely, and is somewhat inconsistent. It's definitely noticable in some places, but i personally love it. This is by far the most the characters have ever moved outside of action scenes, and the attention to detail in the gestures the characters do throughout the episode is astonishing.

2023-04-21 16:10:00 +0000 UTCi know what you mean with the animation. someone said rotoscoping earlier and what that is is they use live actors for the scene they want to animate as reference and trace over their movement. personally, ive never liked this style cause its very obvious when it happens but i understand why they do it. saves a lot of time in animation.
