I know that the human fights get bad later on, but I completely forgot just how early into the show things start falling apart on that front. I mean, the plot is interesting, but the weird sideways camera and all the animation that's repeated just WAY too fast feels weird as heck. And then they start going into all these weird poses and cuts that don't feel fitting or consistent... Like with how it's framed it looked like the bad guy did a bunch of sword moves and then flipped backwards for a moment because they just cut to the hero getting knocked back mid-attack flurry while a bunch of confusing motions were happening. I've heard there was production issues behind the scenes, but either way, as good as the Kumiko stuff still is, that fight was pretty rough directing-wise. It just felt like they were trying a bunch of stuff that just was not working together at all. Hope they continue the show, though. Wonky animation complaints aside, it really is a good watch full of memorable and interesting moments, and our Spider Baby hasn't even begun to really thrive yet, either.

2023-05-12 00:35:53 +0000 UTCReally surprised it hasn’t been mentioned that the spider is voiced by Aoi Yuki - the VA for Rita Rossweise and Lumine. Her voice range is so freaking incredible - to the extent that she can sing in character voice. Probably why she’s my favorite VA.

2023-04-23 04:03:14 +0000 UTCI didn't make the original comment so I can't be sure what it was a about, but I do remember watching episode 3 and the sister got mad that one of the reincarnations were being kinda close to her brother and you were like "Damn, you gotta act all bougie now" and it definitely made ME think y'all forgot the little sister wasn't a reincarnation.
