Yo, I enjoyed this and the last episode a lot. Good time. thank for react.

Tiladesu

Seeing Eren beat up Armin like that and completely shatter Mikasas confidence in him was hard to watch :(

Joey Cat

VILLAIN ARC. MUHAHAHA Evil Manipulative Eren + Waka Flaka=Epic Season

Yahroh

Tbf Eren also did say things to Armin that freaked him out, but they were both caught so off guard by the situation that Armin didn’t even have time to think of a retort. As soon as Eren finished talking to Armin he moved on to Mikasa, didn’t even give him a chance to think about it much. So what you said is still true technically, there’s just a bit more to it

GraffitiTurtle

there is so much wrong with what Eren said that it’s actually funny

GraffitiTurtle

About the bit about "joking when saying 'Gaslight' or the like", I can't bring myself to agree. The over-usage as well as mis-usage of words leads to the breakdown of meaning and context. Especially when they are important terms like in psychology, it shouldn't be used lightly. I really hate it nowadays since it's like that. Yes, it's being serious, but I don't think that being mindful of such seriousness and "enjoying life" are mutually exclusive.

Ano~X~Catho

the implication is that it's began during the time skip since we can account for Armin's actions at least up until the re-taking of Shigashina.

Ano~X~Catho

Is it that armin has only now started talking to annie? or has it been that armin has been recounting the entire series up until this point, sharing their sides point of view to annie? I like to think that we have been hearing it from an impartial Armin who is kinda like fighting between both his and bertholdts memories of events.

Xankoshu

Eren is a big fat liar lmao. He does not hate Mikasa, anyone that’s been watching this show with half a braincell knows that. He knows she doesn’t just OBEY him like that. He used certain aspects of her experiences and character that are true in order to sound convincing. Same with Armin and what’s been going on with him. There is something else at play here that we don’t know about. “You want to know how to tell a good lie? Sometimes you have to mix the truth into it.” - Yelena. That is not the type of line to just be applied once in a story like this.

GraffitiTurtle

One thing many people point out, that I like, is how Eren deals with Mikasa and Armin. He's never been able to take on Mikasa by force, so he breaks her by talking. He's never been able to out-debate Armin, so he takes him out by force.

ArcaneAnomaly

Thanks for the AOT binge

TrinitytheApostle

The thing I always find "funny" is that if what is said about Armin is true, Eren also has to be manipulated. Armin has one titan and Eren has three. Plus if you rewatch season 1, Armin and Annie had some sort of a connection.

I think that was the face of "I hate that it went down this way but you gave me the excuse I was looking for to kick your ass"

Eddy

I'm not really convinced Eren was telling the truth there. It just doesn't seem to add up, especially since he's not got royal blood and Mikasa had so reason to suspect he did when they where kids. I feel like he's twisting the truth, using their emotions to sell it for some reason.

Eddy

Man, that levi scene was bad ass as usual. I feel like the only one who may be his downfall is Mikasa, or himself if crap keeps being piled on him the way it's going. I hope he either survives or goes out like the Legend he is. I hate the path Eran is on though. I do agree it serious he was making them hate him purposefully, possibly even lying like Zeke did, but to what end? So they don't get hurt by what he plans to do, or so they don't stop him? Onto the next one.

Eddy

Alright buddy chill. Respect Goatmin Arlert.

C D

armin always and i means always, deserved to be treated like shit

Andrew

Just a theory but I think that Levi's decision in the last season may have been influenced by Eren's intense desire to save Armin, which could have triggered an instinctual response since he is also a member of Arkerman family

Floch really do got that Black Air Force Energy now.

Squ4reCac7us

Levi's face said to me "Zeke, you are forcing me to kill my men. You're fucking dead." And I think Shadis claimed they couldn't beat him in a fight to goad them to do the smart thing right now. Their lives were at stake here. He understood that. They didn't.

Adriborte

I would really hope you wouldn't want the Jaegerists to win given the extremely fascist coding they have. Just sayin'

"Why is Eren doing this?" "Does he mean what he's saying?" Probably the most hotly debated questions in the whole show when this episode came out (and also before that the equivalent många chapter). And when I say hotly I mean it was heated as hell, lines were drawn, feelings were hurt, it was a whole ass mess. Not to mention the damage done in the shipping wars (a lot of people ship Eren and Mikasa but a substantial section of the fanbase ship Eren and Historia at this point). I can tell you what I believed at the time, no spoilers. I personally interpret Eren at this point as someone who's been blinded by his ideology. He is so obsessed with freedom, always has been, since the very first episode he's been comparing life in the wall to living as birds in a cage, like cattle in a pen. He is eventually made aware that there's a whole ass world complicit in depriving him of his freedom, maybe not everyone have participated but not one has freed him from his prison. And so he loses his McFucking Marbles and his loud screaming rage turns into this quiet smoldering fury that we're seeing now. In a sense I don't think Eren has changed all that much but the added context has thrown both him and the entire world for a loop. I don't think he always hated Mikasa and Armin but at this point I think the hate he feels for his situation has become blind and he's seeing enemies everywhere. That's about as far as I got in my mind when I first read this. Man, Levi really said he would never again regret the choices he made and that he would live with the consequences and the powers that be were like "'aight bet". We have seen Mr. Ksaver before, very very briefly but we haven't heard his name.

Bob

I think you basically summed up my attitudes towards the show here beautifully. At this point I kinda stop rooting for specific characters and watch mainly to see how this whole crazy thing unfolds, and I think that's a unique strength of this show that it can get me this invested in its politics and world.

Convergeman

"Rumble, rumble. Rumble, rumble, bumble. Rumble, rumble, bumble, dumble. Know what I'm sayin' dawg?" Alicia 2023

Stuart Hanmore

Bad Eyesight isnt the result of damage, but of a mal formation of the eye ball. this new form is the "normal" for the body and therfore not repaired.

Christopher Schwandt

Why does Armin only have a part of Bertholdt? Wouldn't he have a part of every single Eldian that ever possessed the Colossal Titan? It's never stated anywhere that it's only one generation back that you gain memories of

Desert Penguin

See you can turn the logic Eren said about Barry being a part of Armin. Grisha ate Frieda, Eren ate him and Lara Tybur.

Razgar_dar

that dinner table scene is always heart breaking to see - Yeah Floch has one hell of a character development from his scout recruit day to now

Sven Hegenbart

You keep trying to tell yourself this is all Eren's plan, but when has Eren ever come up with a good plan.

Alopex The Wanderer

If you’re born with poor eyesight, does that count as eye damage? I don’t think it would heal his eyes unless it recognized it as something to fix.

Devin

levi loses all his subordinates once again. poor dude.
