I get that some people aren’t really fans of Fairy Tail (a viewpoint that I understand, as no show is perfect), but I agree with @LordTouchMe that I think it’s a show that Alicia would probably like. Admittedly, it does take a little while before things start to pick up steam, but that’s true for a lot of shows, good or bad. Either way, no pressure to watch it, but I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of the original commenter (though I’m not sure about the assistant bit).

Things actually happen in Fairy Tale? I got bored halfway through season 2 so I had no idea. XD Wow. Stuff. Happening. Incredible. (sorry for the sarcasm. I just find FT to be a really shallow rip-off of OP which never found the magic that made OP as great as it is. Apologies to anyone who likes it! You can certainly enjoy what you want, I just like to rag on it a little. No hate! <3)

Also, seeing as your vibing with Straw Hat and clicking well with it, another similar in spirt show would be Fairy Tail. Not sure if you've seen it or not, but it's the biggest champion of "POWER OF FRIENDSHIP" and has some great characters, fights and emotional moments, and the humor is very much akin to One Piece (the creator having been an assistant to One Piece's creator early on in his career). At the very least, I think an openings video would do numbers and be a lot of fun for you too. Something to consider, no pressure, you got a lot you're already doing.

had to take several doses of liquid persuasion to get through season 2, I just finished it, can barely keep my head suspended, and while I do believe this series is a beautiful, dark, and very necessarily tragic masterpiece- I do not wish to put anyone else through this kind of heartache. but we're all built different, and I'm an emotional sap, maybe she could enjoy this series.

I'm watching it right now, knowing what I already know about the series going in- knowing how dark it is & seeing how upbeat & cheerful the Opening & Ending are has me triggered a little. Like "I know your secrets, you can't fool me!" I really wanted to recommend it to Alicia, but I'm on the 6th episode & already I can't stop asking myself "What have I done?" ( 'o_o) Too late to stop now

I 100% second this, and I also 100% suggest to save the series until after Alicia clears out Oshi no Ko and is between more emotionally intense shows for a bit, because Made in Abyss is pretty brutal! It's one of the hardest shows to recommend while also having some of the most emotionally complex moments of tragic beauty that I've ever seen in anime. And I think anyone whose seen the series can easily back me up on that.

lmao not really, the first few arcs already hooked me in the series and the main turning point for me from liking it to loving it is during the Arabasta arc which is the 92nd episode iirc

@Alex It's a running gag because it's so long. But imo it's the first ~450 episodes are the best for sure, after that the show and main cast changes in a lot of ways. Some like the changes, some don't but the show continues to be good overall.

i remember spending the very little pocket money i got ordering the manga trough mail. and when i was older i finally watched the anime, its incredibly good and faithful to the original work, but i want to temper expectations by noting that the anime shakes the events around in the first episodes in a attempt to make it better, but IMO suffer pacing issues because of it.
