There have been references to Star Wars throughout everything so far (including naming places after places in Star Wars, and even the robots you see being based off the Droids from the prequels). Gran Torino's introduction to Deku in this episode mirrors Yoda's introduction to Luke. Yoda pretended to be old and senile to see how Luke would react. Same thing here!

2023-06-26 20:29:16 +0000 UTCThis episode shows my favorite thing about Deku and his usage of OfA, rather than like in most animes where the protag goes through a training arc and gains a power up that lets them better use their powers but My Hero does it in reverse. Turning something that basically weakens OfA overall as a quirk but increases its viability and versatility for Deku by a whole bunch and becomes the perfect solution for him and his quirk problem. It's honestly such a fun and My Hero take on this trope of "power ups".
