One of my favourite things about One Piece that doesn't get mentioned enough (or only during specific parts) is how it shows that emotion isn't weakness. You can cry, scream, feel - and that's not wrong to do that. You can be a crybaby and still find strength and be strong, you can hurt and still move towards tomorrow. It's such an emotional journey and Oda didn't shy away from making his characters express what they're going through - to have full on breakdowns and heart-rending moments of vulnerability no matter their strength, gender or role in the story. It showcases the human experience of feeling, the weight that emotion has in our lives and teaches us that we should never be ashamed to express ourselves - that showing that part of ourselves isn't a weakness. I love that.
