He said "He(Luffy) appeared and disappeared like lightning on the same day that Gold Roger was executed 22 years ago". Basically Smoker revealed that this day is the anniversary of Roger's execution 22 years ago, which makes the whole situation even more interesting.

Buggy will return and now that you met him so will smoker since they did announce they will be chasing Luffy. They both said they will I won’t say when it happens but they both announced it so it should be obvious they are coming back. And all I want to say is buggy has been one of my favorites since these episodes and I am excited to see how Alicia reacts when we do see his return especially one of them in particular.

Second buggy car made buggy a fan favorite and buggy is one of Oda’s favorite characters. Lastly the man who saved Luffy has become a fan favorite from this moment just because of the mystery because even 1000 episodes later we don’t even know if he caused the lightning to strike buggy but it has become a very popular theory.

Definitely confusing wording given the situation with the lightning lol

I wanna go a bit into detail on how Smoker's power works since I don't think that's spoiler territory, but I don't know if YOU'LL consider that a spoiler, so I will put it far below just in case. > > > > Ok so Smoker's devil fruit isn't quite like the ones we've seen so far, in fact, you could almost say it introduces a brand new "category" of devil fruits we'll eventually see more of. Won't spoil the name but you'll find out what they're called eventually. Fruits that directly involve manipulating some kinda substance or element (like water, ice, fire, earth, smoke in this case, etc) usually go a bit further than just letting the user control them. These users, more often than not, ARE their respective elements, through and through. Smoker doesn't simply turn parts of his body into smoke to avoid damage, his entire body is constantly made of smoke and it just exists in a human-looking form based on whatever the person's supposed to look like. The smoke is him and he is the smoke. In other words, unless you can somehow counteract the smoke involved, you can't hit him, he's functionally invincible. This isn't to say these users are without weakness of course. Elements generally have their natural enemies, and devil fruit users as a whole, no matter what kind they are, have specific weaknesses we'll get to later on. That's all the info I have for now, but it's safe to say if Dragon hadn't stepped in, Luffy 100% would've lost that fight. There's no way he would've been able to damage Smoker here.

With you finally seeing smoker's power you've been shown the Second Category of Devil Fruit! Logia!~ I won't go into detail but Smoker's ability is that reflexively he can turn his body into, conjure, and manipulate smoke! (It's how earlier he told luffy just follow the smoke to the platform because he was manipulating it into the shape. Also it's why he can constantly smoke cigars and hotbox without a care. What's it gonna do to him? He's already made of the stuff lol~)

But yeah Dragon's initial reveal was pretty weak, and as for the grand line, if you recall the map, you'd have to cross it to go from north to south, or walk over the red line, which I think they already said was a mountain range, so it theoretically makes sense for it to be easier to enter than the show initially presented. Personal theory is that the whole thing is hard for pirates specifically to enter and for anyone who isn't on the TSA...I mean Navy's bad list can have a comparatively easy time crossing.
