2023-07-26 08:33:43 +0000 UTCHey, I'd be all for Arrow or Wonder Woman realizing that killing was wrong, and choosing to arrest the villains instead...but in each case, they just let the bad guy go after murdering their underlings. Especially in Wonder Woman, when this scientist is the most dangerous human the protagonists have encountered the entire film: if she decides to make more poison gas, she could wipe out whole cities.

2023-07-25 09:15:38 +0000 UTCThat trend of killing off unnamed NPCs but sparing named villains is a thing that drives me crazy with a lot of shows/movies. Like in the first Wonder Woman movie where she was happy to use superpowers to slaughter countless WW1 German soldiers, but spared the evil scientist who gleefully developed poison gas for them. Or in Arrow, where the protagonist is struggling with whether or not he should kill bad guys...so he murders a bunch of nameless bodyguards, then spares the rich guy who actually *did* all the evil stuff.

One Piece has been around so long that it's virtually impossible to not recognize the names/appearances of the main cast. I've never seen any of the openings prior to watching these reactions, and I still knew about Chopper.
