let her cook with the criticizing nana abandoning her son to foster care bc that boy ended up an unresolved trauma bean and passed it onto shigaraki

Bambi

When it comes to the foster care thing, I think it was less about "The hero world" and more about All for One existing, dude kills people for fun, don't think he would stop just because it was a child.

Okoga

I think it's important to realise that not everybody is ready to be a parent, and those that think they are may not be ready to be a single parent. As the holder of one for all and the target of most villains I don't blame Shimura for putting her child into foster care, I'd even say it was the responsible thing to do.

Staineless

"Bakugo doesn't have a dark backstop! He just gets it from his momma!" *momma proceeds to violently physically and emotionally abuse him* yeah that's called having a dark backstory lol

Sarah

You're going to be an amazing mom. The emotional maturity you've showcased dwarfs that of people twice your age. Your future kid(s) is/are incredibly lucky.

Andre

They started and ended the episode with "Next, it's your turn." Heroes and Villains are two sides of the same coin. One for All and All for One. All Might and All for One. Izuku and Shigaraki.

Jay (aka Kairukurumi)

I always saw it as, "her husband was killed because of her responsibilities as a hero", particularly her responsibility in stopping All For One, whom she was probably fighting as her main enemy at the time. She couldn't stop the fight, being the inheritor of One For All, so she sent her kid into foster care to keep her kid safe from her enemies. I feel like girl was neck-deep in a war, and they went after her family. So she had to send her kid away for his safety.

REI

dont being high and mighty judging nana for the foster care move, she was after all worried about one for all.

Charlie baker

Setting aside the issue of IF they should just kill All For One, there’s also the issue of whether how easily they CAN kill him since he has a super-regeneration quirk. I’m guessing that most conventional methods of execution likely won’t work, and trying to discover a way to kill him would result in a lot of trial and error, effectively making it torture (which I’m assuming is also frowned on.) Which then leads to the question, is AFO dangerous enough to set a dangerous legal precedent of state-sanctioned torture that could impact society for years to come?

Steven Bermudez

Thanks for the episode

TrinitytheApostle

Yeah, it always takes ages to get to the end of that process in modern times. Thankfully.

Zakarin Talvas

Just so you know, All For One IS considered death row material. He just has paperwork to be processed like anyone else in real life lol (Not a spoiler btw, this info is mentioned VERY casually and doesn't change anything significant.)

Luffyiscool

I love just how real Deku's mom was. No hysterical fits of rage or over the top reactions..... just calm, thoughtful "As a citizen I respect and am thankful for all you've done for us, but as a mom.. WTF do you think you are doing with my kid!?" And yeah, Deku's maturity as well in refusing to give up on his dream, but being willing to work with his mom to find a way to achieve it that doesn't cause her so much stress. That whole scene is brilliant.

Seraphem

You forget that she wasn’t a normal hero but the holder of One for All. She was hunted by All for one and even her husband death was done by him. So sending her son away would have been a good choice

Man, I'm a sucker for this kind of episode. I like to think of them as "aftermath" episodes, when the crisis has peaked and resolved and we take some time for the characters to reflect and recover. One of my favourite Star Trek episodes is one similar to this. It's called "Family" and comes right after the "Best of both Worlds" two parter that bridges seasons 3 and 4. The big crisis is over and the crew gets some shore leave on Earth and we get to see different characters interact with their families but most importantly we get to see captain Picard deal with the very serious trauma he's just been through. There's a scene with Picard and his brother, if you know you know, that's probably my favourite scene in all of Star Trek. I love Kyoka's dad. I wanna be just like him when I grow up (I turn 30 this year btw). A lot of people live Kacchan's mom. There's a lot of, um, fanart of her. Izuku's mom is strong as hell. That whole scene with All Might in the Midoriya household is fantastic.

Bob

Why do you even feel the need to comment spoilers? Who are you talking to?? …

i_am_jam

I feel almost entirely certain AFO would have had her son killed as well if she hadn't, if not even done the deed personally, even AFTER he killed Nana. He just seems like that kind of horrifyingly spiteful person.

Zakarin Talvas

Yeah, literally every time it has happened, it could just as well have ended with them all dead, even more likely than not (if not for plot armor, obviously).

Zakarin Talvas

Spoilers "I'm not going to make you worry, Mom" - Deku A few episodes later- Deku vs Bakagou

Tomika Axerail

there are also a bunch of banger mha movies (especially the second one)

Potato

At least when e bowed on the ground my eye good sweaty. So epic

MoD+

Regardless of how well them ignoring all logic and running into these situations has been at the end of the day they've been getting lucky coinflips and i can understand all might and the other adults fears of what happens when it stops working out ;^;

To got a little more in-depth: Mitsuki (his mother) has the ability to secret Glycerin from her skin - which can be used to moisturize, yes, but also is used for adding sweet flavouring to foods. Masaru (his father) sweats acid from his hands that causes explosions when rubbed together, though he has no control over its usage. Bakugo got super lucky with his parents quirks combining together to create nitroglycerin sweat. Fun fact about nitroglycerin - it can be used in medicine! Mainly to alleviate some issues with the heart, but it's kind cool to realise that Bakugo could be a decent combat medic if he got some medical schooling into him and help fix the heart attacks his abilities (and attitude) could cause. XDDD

Liberty

100% agree with the "can't we just kill this guy?" about AFO. That dude is the very personification of "too dangerous to live". They don't even know how many quirks he has, let alone what they do. They shoulda killed him while he was unconscious.

Liesmith

I knew Alicia would get a kick out of seeing Bakugo's parents. Also, I love the fact that All Might forced himself into his muscle form to bow to Deku's mom.

Liesmith

Yeah, this. If All For One knew who her husband was and how to get to him, the same could be said for her son, too. She couldn't hide him with family because, presumably, AFO would know who her and her husband's family were. Anyone connected to her wasn't assuredly safe, so she chose foster care for him instead. It must have broken her heart to leave her grieving son alone like that, and he likely felt devastated, too. Was it the best choice? Maybe, maybe not. But it was probably the only thing she felt she could do given the circumstances.

Liberty

kacchan really good lucky with his quark being a combination, unlike Shoto where both parents have powerful quarks, Bakugo's parents both have kind of useless abilities, the dad makes sparks when he rubs his hands together and the mom produces a some kind of oil that keeps her skin moisturized.

James LeBlanc

Just to clarify (and this isn't a spoiler) Nana's husband was killed on the order of All For One entirely just to fuck with her, he was a civilian and she was terrifyed they would come after her son as well.

Andrew Wanker

Yatta!!! thx for the upload
