Then when I was rambling about Chainsaw Man once, she said it sounded interesting, we watched the first season together and she was super into it! It was such a good time watching that with her, and now she's also getting into Bocchi the Rock! and it makes me really happy for her to be so open to checking stuff out with me even if she's not sure she'll be into it. 10/10 friendship.

Personally I've oft had people butt in and insist on "helping" against my protests, and it does not feel appreciative, it feels awful. And expecting people to intuit that you want something is unreasonable and unfair to them. Oh, also I think that pretending to show interest in something that you don't like in a misaimed attempt at politeness is just insulting.

The fanservice though, i feel like is more ok in this anime than others because it's with a purpose if that makes sense? i mean.. It is about clothes and cosplay and we know how they be. Also, bit of fun trivia : My Dress-up Darling came from author, Shinichi Fukuda((Who's a prominent female creator of 'mature' manga)) after hearing from a cosplayer, how their partner made an ultimatum for them: cosplay or relationship. Obviously hated it and decided to create a manga about good beans afferming each other's hobbies.

It's the hub for female Otaku/Anime fans, and the opening showcases many real buildings as well as inside the Animate. I went around Ikebukuro taking pictures of scenes from the anime earlier this year after visiting the Dress Up Darling special museum display they had with their newly reopened Animate. I'm happy to say this show is very popular with the women of Japan.

I'm a cis man, I grew up with parents who let me play with whatever I liked so I had little robots and army men but I also had a baby doll and little fake kitchen and I was a really happy kid! I played video games with my parents, had lego technic and played dress up as super heroes but also as a little bumblebee or a lady (I borrowed my mom's heels hehe). It also allowed me to understand girls better when I was a kid and befriend them easier, it also made me like cooking for real and being really understanding with children. If your parents don't think "my kid is happy and that's all that matters" then they're not doing their best as parents!
