:3 I got one my hero episode in!!

My Hero Academia 3x18

It is close to real life bullying, though. Because he was, what, 14 at the time? Yeah, he has become better, but it wasn't through people telling him his past was okay, but from realizing he wasn't the shit he thought he was. And on top, he had a personal grudge with Deku. From his perspective, Deku was looking down on him since they were kids. Yeah, he said some horrible things and did horrible things that weren't okay, but again, he was a kid. Blame the adults for allowing it to happen. So quite literally, your problem with Bakugo is that adults and teachers around him weren't doing their jobs. Him not having repercussions is a problem with them.

I'm following way too many nsfw accounts to use a name here

My biggest issue with Bakugo is still that he was allowed to tell a kid he was bullying in front of adults to go commit suicide. He has had no repercussions from how he acted as a kid. Him becoming a better person is great on its own but using current Bakugo to erase things he did as younger Bakugo is pretty sad and makes it feel too close to real life bullying.

Okoga

1A and 1B are just two different clases, not divided by strength.

The thing about the mole plot, and no spoilers here obviously, it ends up making a rewatch so satisfying. You pick up on so many things.

I can say it now that we got here that my theory about which student was the mole was Aoyama. I am so glad I was wrong :)

Commenter says it's ok for Alicia to not react in her reaction lol

even in the U.S it's VERY regional. in new york cursing eachother out is much more commonly accepted amongst friends as an example

Your wrong. Language is different for everyone, some people curse way more than others. For example, in my family, we curse like drunken sailors. If you don’t call someone a bastard or bitch that’s code for something’s wrong, at least in my family. Hell, my own MOTHER calls me a bitch, bastard, cunt, etc, but we don’t mean in a bad way, that’s just how we all talk. If I didn’t greet my mother like ‘What’s up bitch?’ Or something along those lines she would ask me if I was okay. To some people this may seem crazy, but guess what, EVERY FAMILY IS DIFFERENT. In my family there’s nothing wrong with calling someone a cunt, bastard or whatever, as long as you mean it in a loving way. So, with that being said, no Bakugou did nothing wrong in that regard. Just because YOU think it isn’t okay to curse at someone doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone else. I personally see no problem with how Bakugou talks. Hell, I’ve gotten my mother to watch MHA and her favorite character is Bakugou because of how he talks. Besides, like Liberty said, there is an understanding between Bakugou and Class 1-A, they know that’s just how Bakugou talks, reason why they don’t get butthurt whenever he curses at them or calls them names. So maybe don’t be so close minded okay? 😊

Kiwi here, completely agree with Liberty. If I go a full conversation with my mates WITHOUT insulting their entire family tree (or something to a similar extent, depending on context) then it's pretty much code for "I am deeply not ok" (or, again, something to a similar extent). Friendly and non-serious use of swearing/name-calling/harsh language is just part of everyday vocabulary for almost everyone I know, and if anything, that only makes genuine threats all the more impactful, as by that point the body language and tone of the individual are putting in far more work than the words alone ever could.

Amorphous rodent

For me, the only thing Bakugo has said that no one should brush off is telling Deku to commit suicide. If a bully says that to their victim, then they need to be uppercut into the stratosphere.

I don't think this is 100% the case. Each has two of the recommendation kids and it would be stupid for the school to not consider quirk compatibility/requirements when it came to who is teaching which class. If someone with a very strong, very dangerous quirk needed a teacher who could quickly shut it down - like Tokoyami in full dark, for example - then giving them to Aizawa would be the correct move. If someone had a blood-bending quirk akin to Vlad King, putting them in 1A instead of 1B would be downright dumb. So, it's likely they go: - split the 4 recommendation students (probably random who in what class, bar quirk requirement exceptions) - check for any quirk requirement exceptions (would it be better for either teacher to have that kid for quirk-related reasons?) - check for any other requirements (medical, educational, etc - if someone is allergic to frogs, for example, they shouldn't go in the class with Tsuyu) - randomise the rest. I think that would make the most sense.

Liberty

To be fair, I don't think it's fully random - after all, coincidentally there's two of each of the recommendation students in each class. I think the teachers have a say in who they get in some regards - after all, if there were a blood-based candidate they may be better suited to be trained by Vlad King, after al - or if there was someone who, say, couldn't control their horrendously powerful powers (like a certain birdboi in darkness?) then Eraserhead would be a better teacher for them. So I fully believe that there was some consideration put in with regards to who goes where based on quirk compatibility and the 4 recommendation students likely get split among the two classes evenly, but any left-overs who don't need special considerations likely are randomised.

Liberty

This. Also, why can't she just talk about it when she feels like she wants to talk about it? She's literally reacting in the moment, and that's what we're here for - her reactions to the media in the moment. Sometimes when you're reacting to something you KNOW that you've said something similar before but you find new points to make or want to expand on something you said earlier that others have (in reaction to your reaction) brought up - you want to clarify and make your point clearer. I don't see an issue with that, personally. Keep doing what you do, Queen~

Liberty

Incorrect. Maybe America has an issue with this kind of thing, but other countries have a much more lax way of looking at language and how it can be used to interact with others. As an Aussie, if I don't call my friends bitches and cunts or bastards and assholes, they'd know something is wrong - because that's just how we talk to each other and it's affectionate ribbing, not derogatory. HOW you say something, who you're saying it to and the intention behind saying it means a fuckton more than what you're saying. My sister and I call each other bitch all the time - we can tell the difference between when it's meant as an insult and when it's being said playfully or affectionately. I swear a lot - a lot of people around me do, too. It's just colour to the language, adding more spice and flow, etc. If I say "You're fucked, mate", everyone around me knows whether I'm telling that person they're dead meat or saying their an idiot or telling them that they're going to be in trouble with their wife or whatever based on the situation. Bakugo's fine in this regard. Yes, he started out using insults as actual insults as a kid but there is an understanding between him and the rest of Class 1-A that when he says "DIE" and calls people names, he's not insulting them in actuality - it's just how he communicates. And that's fine.

Liberty

Yeah, it is amazing how much these beans have grown since the start of the show. Love your thoughts on the characters and how much you get what they are dealing with and going through!

Seraphem

i think thats what she meant .. the main character treatment from the author .. not ranking

Cyrill Attakpah

saying "Bastard" and "i will kill you" will neber ok to say even as Char.

What you fail to realize is, that yes, we patrons are adults, we literally use our payments we get from work to pay for the content, she is talking to the youtube audience who for my hero is actual teenagers. And before anyone replies "cant she cut that out?" , my guys, we are literally paying for the uncensored, unfiltered and uncut reactions, you can always skip forward

VJ Sins

I want to clarify something about the classes where I think you've made this mistake before. Class 1A and 1B are not ordered by any type of ranking. They're just two different classes in the same exact hero course the school offers. They all passed the same entrance exam (except for those who got in on recommendations like Todoroki or Momo) and these are just two different classes. The only difference is that class 1A happens to have all the main characters with the main character factor. And of course the strongest characters like the 9th holder of One for All, the son of the #2 hero endeavor, and bakugo have all coincidentally ended up in that class. But the class they're in is not a determining factor of their strength levels.

Machine River

It's okay Alicia, you don't have to keep explaining Bakugo's character to us. Everyone who started watching the anime is probably in their early 20's now. We're not that dumb.

KRAUS

Twitch chat told her after the episode

Ranginald Vagel

Class a and b aren't rankings it's just two classes the kids got randomly sorted into.

TrixieTurner

Thanks for the episode

TrinitytheApostle

Yes I completely agree please watch it before it’s to late you’ll love it

RoyalArc7

I think its one of the teachers. Everyone in Class 1A knew that Kirishima was gathering a group to save Bakugo when he got kidnapped and that one of the nomus had a tracker, but the villains still got surprised about the heroes attack. If the traitor was in 1A they would probably notify the villains.

Kojak

huh...i never noticed before but Bakugo's smile in the fight with the flesh sculpture shiketsu guy looks a little like Izuku's wobbly smile shown through a mask of confidence

Daniel Siegfried

The classes aren’t separated by skill or power, they are random.

Carter Skjerven

You still haven’t gotten to see the ending credits to this season! If you get the chance to,please definitely do so! The visuals are really simple but it’s the song that’s the standout, this song is really special to me and is probably my favorite ending song to the series! ❤️

Dudefrombelring

I missed this show <3

I’m really glad that you recognize Bakugo’s growth as a character. For a lot of people they have a hard time looking past how he behaved to see it. Which I get, he was a bully to Deku for years and I see that he’s grown as a person and I’m happy to see it. But at the same time I see him having a hard time I just go, ‘Yeah. That’s called karma, you get what you deserve in the long run.’ Because of how much of an asshole he was. And again he’s much better now! But I’m willing to forgive Nolan from invincible, who has killed god knows how many people, instead of bakugo who was a bully. It just hits closer to home for me, I’ve been picked on and seeing a guy who would do that get some comeuppance is just satisfying.

Jacob Goodheart

You do see him during camp. He's the one who shoots Mr. Compress and gets him to drop the marbled. I really doubt it's him. Invisible girl is a solid choice, but, narratively, you'd want it to be a real gut punch. My guess is Kaminare (electric boy). The other electric guy just... decides not to electrocute him at the USJ attack? Also, he said he thinks stain is kind of cool.

Albert Rhodes

"you having a bad hair day" in the ending part was a sucker punch .. for me .. i was drinking atm xD i spat out everything out of laughter

Cyrill Attakpah

22:30 ff ... i am such a dumb little shit i just assume everyone on the internet except of csgo and cod ppl is an adult .. ive been an adult for almost 12 years now and i dont really ever talk to teenagers anymore for like at least a decade xD i think i lost my talking-to-innocent-beings-ability

Cyrill Attakpah

You mention it here and I totally agree, one of the best aspects of my hero compared to other long-running shonen is pacing. Like my hero really just feels like it respects your time. So many other shows seem so concerned with trying to stretch material that they pad it with unnecessary flashbacks or extended transformation scenes. It’s so annoying to sit down when watching a series weekly and get a whole episode where the protag is trapped thinking about life, realizes true strength is friendship then breaks out just to continue the 4 episode long fight.

Willrkjr

I’m not caught up with my hero and decided to just watch along with you so you idk if they ever circled back to the traitor plot line but I have only two suspects in mind. Belly button and invisible girl are the perfect candidates!!! Invisible girl is self explanatory and probably a cop out but still the PERFECT traitor. Belly button has always rubbed me the wrong way not in the way he acts but because he’s never around which is suspicious….. like in season 1 during the villains breaking in we never saw him and then it happened again during camp. Coincidence??? I THINK NOT!!!

Golden Witch Beatrice

I love that Aoyama was willing to sacrifice his own chance at passing the test in order to ensure that Iida succeeded. Official bean status achieved.
