I didn't know why Luffy felt off so much in the mentioned arc before I read the manga version where his decisions are very different and way more in character.

2023-08-14 09:34:40 +0000 UTCOkay so I grew up watching one piece and to be honest i didn't know those episodes were filler i know of One episode that is coming up that even though its filler it deserves to be cannon because it explains the dynamics of team work and what that means to the straw hats now there will be filler episodes very later on like boss luffy and chopperman that were clearly made for kids in japan so those you skip if you want to but in my opinion the majority of filler is worth watch as for episode 99 the reason is world building which also alot of fans forget the FILLER IN One piece Is ODA APPROVED.

Sadly I think, emphasis on think, it's around this time that 4Kids lost One Piece, or at least started to lose the investments for it, because the individual filler episodes around this time were so bad. And with these last two episodes in the writing department you more or less see the weakness of the team when it comes to writing short spot filler, they either try to shove a whole three episode arc in one episode...or they do episodes like this one. Like Imagine if 98 was three seperate episodes, one for the battle of the sand pirates and the bandits, one for the clash between Vivi and dumb idiot girl where we have some time to actually build a backstory that's not the Star Trek standard of "I was mildly inconvenienced so now I want to kill". And then a third conclusion episode to wrap up the clash of the Bandits and the Sand Pirates where idiot girl's idiot backstory actually can come into play that the people who remained and were forgotten are the bandits and Sand Pirates and if it wasn't for Crocodile taking the rain away then they wouldn't be fighting for resources, so now please go on to the main story and save everyone luffy... And then we could have been saved from this awful episode where Vivi more or less cheerleads for the rebels for a moment.

Some of them at least pose interesting ideas or help build they mystery of the Grand Line and situations on it, which I always think is fun.

You don't have to fake liking everything about something. I didn't like these two episodes and they weren't even written by the creator Oda. Which is why they feel so shallow and disconnected. Warship Island was filler and I enjoyed the entire arc. This was just bad.

They wanna make sure those guys actually have heart to protect this town when the time comes. So the crew tested them. And i actually liked it! Now im on episode 150 now XD.

Also I don't like the last two filler episodes but there are some I do like that don't entirely focus on the straw hats because I like to look at it from the perspective of seeing their influence on the places and people they visit even if they aren't focused on.

At the time he mentioned ( or maybe someone made it up) that oda didn’t initially intend to give this person a back story. But without it, the later episodes of one piece wouldn’t make sense

There will be more filler episodes without the strawhats and I have no problem to watch them with you, but FOR ME saying stuff like "End my suffering" takes some of the joy out of your reaction. Also I don't want to hate on u so if I come of a bit aggressive and offend u in some way I'm sorry didn't mean to. I will watch your vids regardless of what u saying. I was just speaking my mind.

I mean I understand you want the FULL EXPERIENCE but single and 2 part episodes of filler arent really worth sitting through if it's only purpose was to keep the anime from catching up to the manga too fast.

Some fillers are just recaps with just flashbacks, there is no point in watching them. There will also be special episodes that are either crossovers or tied to movies that are completely removed from the story, so only watch those if you watch the movies later. Anyway, it will be a long time before you will reach any of them.

Ep. 100 does a much better job than these two episodes...mostl due to not being filler lol. I guess 101 is also sorta fun. After that no filler.
