You also see a ton more background info on people like maki, nagisa and her boyfriend, as well as others. It's hilarious. You just need to stop reading when it catches up to the anime lol. You have to find it online tho. It's only fan translated.

Looking at his tone and choice of words he wasn't nicely asking her if she is ok and if he should do it for her, he was poking her knowing she would take it as him mocking/belittling her and get so angry at him that she would forget about the crowd staring at her.
