The main thing of note for this batch is that the openings for Diamond and Pearl essentially come in pairs,
they're listed as different versions of the song but they're pretty much the same.
Diamond and Pearl OP 1 = OP 2
Diamond and Pearl OP 3 = OP 4
Diamond and Pearl OP 5 = OP 6 (this is the only one that actually sounds different to me)
Do with that as you will.
I don't have much to say about the Japanese Openings except that XY&Z OP 1 is great.

xy&z not only had the best openings it also had the best storyline out of all the seasons. It had epic battles and plot and will always be my favorite Pokemon series

2019-08-29 00:52:03 +0000 UTCXY&Z most definitely... It is my phone's alarm though the Digimon OP's I will be hyped for as I personally prefer Digimon to Pokemon and both English and Japanese Digimon OP's are FIRE.

2019-08-28 17:59:26 +0000 UTCI was similiar to you DeeBeeGeek, I was really taken aback by the new animation of the Sun and Moon, but to be honest it grows on you. I gave the show a chance and I don't regret watching it. To make it even more unique, I watch the original Japanese Dub, since I haven't seen any of the Pokemon series with their original language. Why less battle oriented, though not absent, there are many elements that make up for that in my books, like Team Rocket's new blasting off! Seriously, I haven't seen anything as hilarious as what they've done here! To answer your question, that "watch" as you called it, is Z-Ring, a special device that lets the trainer use a special crystal (called Z-Crystal), and give your Pokemon something like a final move, called Z-Move. They are very powerful, but they need 3 things to work out: the ring, the crystal (specific one for a specific move, type or Pokemon), and a very deep bond of trust between the trainer and their pokemon. Next would be those costumes you saw, you see Ash and his new friends were officially made as a team for investigation and prevention of the threat known as Ultra Beasts, which are Pokemon coming from other dimensions and causing disturbances. The little purple guy in the opening was actually an Ultra Beast, who for a while becomes Ash's pokemon. Oh, and that second "Sun & Moon" opening was actually a special one, for the 20th Anniversary of the show, and for the new movie that came out at that time "Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!", which was re-telling Ash's start of his journey as the Pokemon Trainer in a new way.
