I literally just finished rewatching parts 1 to halfway through part 3 and came here to watch these again. Also if everything goes smoothly I should be able to finish rewatching the entire anime by the next sunday.

All 8 parts have it's own story and characters but they all connected in some way. It really lives up to it's name for it's uniqueness and, well bizarreness among all the other mangas/animes. You should really keep watching even if you dislike the begining, because JoJo will give you so bizarre experiences that no other show can give.

2022-11-26 01:29:28 +0000 UTCThere are three things about about the anime you have to note. 1 part 1 of the manga is from the 80s (and is still going) and is very much a product of its time. The guys have muscles on muscles and the villain is evil for the sake of being evil. But fortunately the story and art of the manga/anime become better and better with each part. 2 talking is a free action in jojo. Some people don't realize this for some time but when people talk during fights and dramatic scenes time is pretty much stopped lol 3 almost all memes in the universe come from jojo and I can't wait for you too spot them!

2022-11-25 11:20:11 +0000 UTCThis is a great comment. Also definitely the first few episodes are probably, at least in my opinion, not the easiest to get through. It's not that they're bad it's just as a newcomer to the franchise they aren't the most engaging. In my experience, at least with my circle of friends, most of them who dropped it did so because they didn't enjoy the start. Once they re-tried it and got past the first few episodes they loved it though. Yep Dio is the worst and I love it too. This is no "but deep down inside" type nonsense. The guy's childhood doesn't forgive the monster he is and him being that sort of person works for the show so well. Also as far as I'm concerned his whole motivation being a future of wealth and power is far more believable than most of the baddies we see in anime. P.S. George sucks for real.

2022-11-25 10:09:02 +0000 UTCI wasn't expecting episode 1 so soon! Welcome to Part 1: Phantom Blood! Dio is voiced by Takehito Koyasu who's a very prolific voice actor and one of my favourites! In Kaguya-sama, he's Shirogane's dad in the Japanese version. You'll also hear him in Attack on Titan season 2. Hirohiko Araki who wrote the manga is very into western culture, especially music. A lot of names will be references to western music and culture, Dio is a reference Ronnie James Dio of Black Sabbath fame (as well as his band DIO), Dario Brando s a reference to Marlon Brando and Jojo might be a reference to the song Get Back by the Beatles (although I don't think this has been confirmed). Erina is actually a reference to Eleanor Rigby because of the way Eleanor is spelt with Japanese characters, エリナ, reads as Erina if you try and turn it back to roman letters. I think these subtitles are specifically the dub script which took some liberties to make the English characters sound more, well, English. The dub is ok but I prefer the Japanese. Araki actually loves dogs so when he wants to show a character to an absolute piece of shit he'll have them hurt a dog. Dio is an absolut piece of shit and I kinda love that, I don't see a lot of media with villains who are so irredeemably fuck off evil. There is a small crowd of people who think Dio is forgivable because he had a shitty upbringing but luckily they're a minority. The outro song, the too be continued song, is actually a song from 1971 by English prog rock band Yes called Roundabout. All outro songs are gonna be songs from different bands but the intro songs are original for the anime. Please keep going for a few episodes even if it feels like everyone sucks right now, it does get better in that regard! George kinda do be a shitty dad, though.
