Honestly I am a fan of this interpretation, or at least Speedwagon's sexuality not being accepted for the time. It may not be the intended vision of Araki (who knows), but it really does come across that way.

It's a quirk of Japanese writing that you can't really end a word on a consonant except for N so you'll often hear Japanese pronunciations of English words with a u-sound at the end. Easy out as well to avoid copyright for Jojo's. Cars as well, you got it! But did you catch that they're looking for the Red Stone of Aja? As in the Steely Dan album Aja? Yep, there's AC/DC! There he is! It was really, really hard not to tell you before when you were asking wether or not they would use that reference. Really hard not to tell you wether or not your other guesses are correct as well! Man, Mark just had death flags left, right and center. That boy just wasn't built to last.

Speaking of moving on, I believe the reason Speedwagon never found anyone and settled down, instead choosing to wander out into the desert and discover oil.. is because he was in love with JoJo, at least is the way I interpreted it from his reactions, especially the scenes with erina nursing him back to health.
