Nah i HATED Jotaro. And honestly he really doesn't redeem himself. He just kinda moves on and becomes better as it goes on but at no point does he even apologize

2024-11-29 22:15:46 +0000 UTCSmall commentary on the teachers: yes, teachers are usually wonderful. But Japan had (and kinda still has) a huge bullying problem. Teachers in Japan largely ignore or even participate in bullying because they think it, like, helps socialize the students or something? And Jotaro, being half-white, was likely targeted by bullies. (In Japan, being non-Japanese is discriminated against like how being non-white is discriminated against in America. There's even a kind of slur word for people who are only half-Japanese). I know you watched this a while ago, but I just wanted to add that tid-bit of problematic culture in Japan, with how normalized bullying is in schools. Araki was kind of intending to show Jotaro as being almost like a vigilante? He was probably trying to imply that that particular teacher bullied students, but the implication doesn't transfer super well to western audiences.

Also weird how you just jumped to defend the teachers with no knowledge of what they did. Seems like you judged him off what he said to his mom and your now viewing everything he does in a bad light. No hate though just wanted to point that out.
