Mob is the Japanese term that’s similar to NPC or background character I.e. a character or group of characters that are common/normal/ don’t stick out. It could be an insult but in this case it’s our MCs nickname (similar to the Deku situation in My Hero Academia)

Oh, while the endings do have next episode previews, they occasionally have little fourth wall breaking jokes right at the VERY end as well. (It's been a while since I watched S1, but S3's early endings insert jokes about different ways that you're potentially watching the show).
