You don’t need to watch the original Fullmetal Alchemist as it does not follow the manga.

He just wanted a death early on so it would set in how dangerous the journey is but would bring him back later. So if anything, he probably changed his mind about him being dead. Maybe at first the plan was for him to literally get resurrected.

2023-01-16 02:29:01 +0000 UTCOk, so the original plan when the manga was coming out was for Avdol to actually stay dead, but since the readers liked him so much Araki brought him back, in fact in the original manga panels you can actually see blood come out of the back of Avdol's head from an exit wound. So that's why the explanation as to why they all just lied to Polnareff feels so weird and out of character (at least to me), because this was not the original plan.

2023-01-15 16:27:08 +0000 UTCI was wondering how you'd handle these two part JoJo episodes going forward, but then I think you mentioned your sleep and upload schedule in a previous video and I was like yeah double episodes probably aren't the best play XD I actually got into JoJos back when part 4 had just finished airing, so when part 5 came out, I watched it as it was airing weekly. I was able to wait a week for each episode then, so I certainly have no problem waiting for your episodes :)

2023-01-15 12:48:41 +0000 UTCYup can confirm, Naruto may have technically been my first anime, but Fullmetal was one of my gateway anime that really got me hooked and immersed into the medium proper (alongside AoT and Akame Ga Kill anyway). I don't think the original was unwatchable by any means, but compared to Brotherhood it's like night and day in terms of story, writing and characters.

It's really one of those shows where it's obvious that every single person working on it, from animators to voice actors to musicians, just love their craft. Well, I say that but I actually started watching just last week and I have 4 episodes left but I'm confident the rest of the season is just as excellent.

Not sure why he changed his mind but it gave us a really great sequence. The "Yes I am!" is something that's referenced a lot in Japanese media. I even saw it in an eromanga once.

Speaking of ships, I'm not surprised you latched on to the Jotaro Kakyoin pairing, I've never cared much for it myself, but it's the most popular ship in the franchise. Alongside Joseph Caesar, and some more from future parts. Sadly, Jonathan and Speedwagon or Jonathan and Erina are beaten out by.. The horrible existence of Jonathan x Dio. They're brothers!!! Why is it so popular?? Jonawagon is actually slightly underrated, which is a bit disappointing, because Speedwagon is pretty obviously meant to be in love with him, at least Caesar and Joseph get the popularity they deserve, I suppose. As Caesar and Speedwagon seem to have a pretty similar thing in 'being gay coded and in love with the protagonist' (Speedwagon 'never marrying' is often code used in media to describe a gay man, Caesar has a symbol reclaimed by gay men used in his design *the pink triangle birthmarks, which were originally used in concentration camps in nazi germany to 'identify gay men' but were reclaimed by the queer community, and in the manga its stated Caesar only flirts with women if they seem lonely to comfort them, he feels no genuine attraction). There's a lot of 'haha jojo gay' jokes, but I feel like not many people look into it and realise there is some decent queer rep, even if it's not obvious.

Its the one of the best Anime I've ever watched and the complexity around the characters in it are sooooo compelling, I got giddy as soon as you mentioned it! I think when it comes to the hottest Joestar its a bit of tie between Joseph and Jotaro, for me its definitely Joseph, his wacky personality and English always had me rolled up XD "YES I AM!" I'm happy no one spoiled this reveal to you guys, shows how great of a community you have Queen <3 That male bonding moment man XD, never had one of those and probably never will. Yeah that gaslighting from the crusaders was a bit much, but hey lead to a pretty badass reveal for Avdol! Great upload from the Queen and the CILF, already on my way to the next one!

2023-01-15 07:05:07 +0000 UTCI wanna comment on the Gundam talk in the beginning and I wanna preemptively apologize for any "WELL ACKSHUALLY" vibes of this comment. "Political power (and war) but with mechs" kinda describes the franchise. Like, the robots are a bit more emphasized than in Code Geass, since they have vested interest in selling you model kits, but even in the first show from 1979, you could exchange the robots for like, special fighter jets or something and ultimately very little would change. It would still be the same show about space wars and politics. Now that I think about it, "X but with mechs" describes quite a few mech anime, actually. At least the so called "Real Robot subgenre" (aka the pseudo-realistic giant robots as opposed to like the Megazord or something), but even "Super Robot" (the aformentioned Megazord-esque robots... sometimes the line is blurry) is sometimes also like that. Like, Patlabor is just workplace sitcom but with mechs and Escaflowne is isekai fantasy but with magic mechs. Sometimes I gaslight myself into thinking it is barely an actual genre.
