Seeing Vivi again reminded me of a video called Alabasta is Hilarious by Muygiwara no Goofy on youtube. I think Alicia should watch the videos he does of the arcs she finishes.

2024-12-19 04:59:12 +0000 UTCmaybe my favorite set of recap episodes of any anime... probably because it wasn't strictly recap, but also updating numerous characters we've grown to care about over these ~800 episodes. That said, I kind of wish they once again attached Dvorak's New World Symphony to the Luffy-Crocodile fight again. Yes, the animation is better, but it lost that part of its epicness.

2024-12-13 04:53:39 +0000 UTCIf you remember from one of the Straw Hat Theater shorts, Nami actually knows how to cook very well, and cooked for Luffy and Zoro before they recruited Usopp, she just doesn't do it for free. Usopp took over then but he only really does simple meals and roasted fish. Most of the crew can cook, they just aren't at the level of Sanji.

When Alicia noted that the Wapol part of the flashbacks wasn't like the others it's because that part of the flashbacks are the closest the anime has gotten to covering the Cover Stories in like 700 episodes (I think the last one was the Diary of Koby-Melpo)

2024-12-12 19:43:17 +0000 UTCMoria is the only one said to become complacent because he had the power to create an army that would do everything for him and it was confirmed he was stronger before being beaten by Kaido. However, Crocodile was someone who mastered their devil fruit to such an extent that he could turn into sand subconsciously. He could also keep up with Doflamingo at Marineford, meaning he was stronger then what was shown in Alabasta because the plot called for it, and safe to say if he can go head to head with Doflamingo and help hold off Akainu, he's actually stronger then Luffy at Marineford, the only thing Luffy having going for him is the gears that Crocodile isn't used to and the fact that Luffy now knows his weakness. Also, I don't think Crocodile ever lost his spirit, the only reason he had for not escaping was because he simply didn't have an interest in doing so and the reason Crocodile wanted to go kill Whitebeard once Luffy was staging a breakout was because of his grudge with the man who defeated him.

Wasn't it implied that both he and Moria had gotten complacent due to their positions, as well as losing much of their spirit from losing their crews to emperors? Spirit is everything in One Piece, there's a reason Crocodile and in the parts that almost never get animated (why...), which is the cover stories, they showed that Crocodile didn't even want to escape before going to prison after his loss to Luffy. The chance to kill Whitebeard or to see him die started to re-ignite his spirit. And yeah, Luffy would obviously win. No doubt about that. But Crocodile won 3 times before he lost, because he kept assuming Luffy would just die. He buried him dying in the desert, but Luffy came back. He left him dried and dying, but Luffy came back. He poisoned Luffy, but Luffy didn't quit. He even kept repeatedly saying "Just give up" because that's what he was expecting him to do, he lacked the spirit, while Luffy is nothing but spirit.

Just in my opinion, the important information in the back story slightly ruins the movie as the viewer knows important information that the characters don't learn about till near the end, and I think it would be better if she gets just as confused as the main characters do when this information is brought up. But even if she does watch it anyway I won't get mad about it.

2024-12-12 16:40:47 +0000 UTCCongrats on getting so far into one Piece. It is a heck of a ride. And there is nothing wrong with getting choked up at the flash backs. For you its been about a year at most. For those watching as this came out. It was over a decade for some of that. Nostalgia is a thing. For the Crew as crazy as it sounds. From the time Luffy first set out till the end of Marinford was like 5-7 months. And the time from reuniteing till now in the show was maybe 2-3 months. Add in the two year time skip. And its still less than three years. (Yes that means that the entire crew spent more time apart in the time skip than they ever spent as strawhat pirates.) Which is a crazy thing to remember. Specially when you think that in less than a total year as a crew they have saved/overthrown multiple kingdoms. Toppled militaries. Invaded and escaped from ALL THREE pillars of the Marins. (Enis Lobby, Impel Down, MarinFord.) Took Down 3 Warlords. Fought The Admirals and survived on 3 occasions. And have already gotten 3/4 through the grand line. Not bad for a plucky small crew that started in the weakest sea.

2024-12-12 16:20:10 +0000 UTCHey Alicia if you see this when you watch kung fu panda 2 I'd recommend you skip the intro animation at the start, then go back and watch it after the movie. because it's the back story for the villain and it reveals some important information that I think would be more impact full if you don't know about it until the characters learn it.

2024-12-12 16:10:30 +0000 UTCthe whole Wapol story was originally chapter cover page stories that Oda adds in the manga. usually they are just for some gags but sometimes they actually have connections with what will happen in One Piece (another example of this is Cody and Helmeppo training to become marines. Or Jango and Fullbody dancing their way... to become marines.)
