I agree. I like the character, but I definitely think he's either Stolen Valor or a quick discharge. He doesn't act like a PTSD to me. We're all different, but the gunshots never bothered him, the bloodshed, any of it, until this situation where he has a gun in his hands. And he doesn't shoot it properly at all, without looking, over his shoulder with his eyes closed speaks of unfamiliarity with and even maybe a fear of guns.

2025-02-17 07:49:19 +0000 UTCThe way he reacted when they brought up his dad during conversation, as well as how he was really good at gong-gi (which is typically a girl's game), makes it seem like he was pressured into going into the Marines rather than just complete his service in regular Army, and that he's a gentle soul who really didn't want to. Also, people who are involved in academics, Olympic athletes, award-winning musicians and the like get special exemption from doing military service.

Not every show needs character deaths to add weight, just having them in the life or death situation is what you want, because viewers WANT these charscters to survive so we get that satisfaction of seeing them happy and surviving when season 1 had such a bleak and depressing ending. It drives forward this seasons theme of humanity and empathy and how that has empowered each of these charscters.

If you've never seen squid game you'll want to watch the first season then come back here to her reactions where she's watching season 2. It's a silly sounding name but I can promise you it's not a silly show 👍 very solid series and season two is not disappointing yet either!

The elderly mom, her son, the pregnant girl, and the badass trans woman, and possibly even crypto boy because while he isn't the greatest dude, his relationship with the pregnant girl seems like they could work it out and maybe he could at least be present in his child's life even if they don't end up together again.
