2:36:50 - Okay not sure if this is a poor person thing or a Hungarian thing or just a my mom thing, but the way she cooked rice (and personally I loved it so its the one thing I learnt to cook and do the exact same way) was: - Regular pan -> Sunflower oil - Chop up onions -> Fry until the onions are glassy. - Put in the rice, fry it for a few seconds, then put in some water - Cook the rice in the water for a few minutes, taste it, if the center is not soft yet, cook it more & add more water if it absorbed it all and is not yet done - Once the water is all absorbed and the center is soft, it's done I have no idea if anyone heard of doing it this way or not, it's 100% not in any restaurant I've ever seen, so maybe it's just my mom that does this, I dunno, but I grew up with it, so maybe that's why I like it a lot more than the steamed rice I get from restaurants.
