Just looked it up, the scene with Mary-Jane happened in 1994's Spider-Man the Animated Series Season 4 episode 10 (The Lizard King). Peter tells her that he's Spider-Man, proposes to her on a roof, she jumps off to see whether he'll save her and whether she can trust that he'll be there for her in the future.

As a big fan of both Superman and Spider-man, i have to say that, while i have seen Lois jump out of windows plenty of times (though it usually is for a completely different reason than love) I genuinely can't think of a single time Mary Jane does anything similiar, where did you see her do that?

The reason the subtitles seem off is that she's watching it with the "English [CC]" subtitle option. That one uses the English dub for the subtitles. The ones you're probably accustomed to are the regular "English" subtitles, which use a translation of the Japanese dub. The differences seemed less obvious for the second episode, but they're still there.

Not gonna lie, kinda felt weird to have Lu voiced by Ayane Sakura, immediately after we've heard her playing Aira in Dandadan. Even uses the exact same pitch, so the similarity is even stronger. She can also sound completely different, like her roles as Tomoe in "Tsukimichi" and Fiona/Nightfall in "Spy X Family". Aside from that, the flashback was actually interesting for me. Her action of jumping reminded me of Lois Lane (Superman) and Mary Jane (Spider-Man), who did something similar. Both of those cases are incredibly toxic behaviour to me, so I was skeptical of Aoi here. Her speech and reasoning was entirely different, though, which saved it. The whole "save me if you truly love me" thing is really manipulative and a massive red flag, but what she did here is actually reasonable.
