Adventure 2 is the game where Shadow is introduced, including all his backstory which this movie nails one for one. ‘06 is about a princess and Shadow is barely present (I don’t remember I barely played it). You should also check out Sonic Adventure 2! (Or play it again if you have before, you’re clearly mixing the games up)

2025-02-04 03:17:33 +0000 UTCChili Dogs, much like Burgers, exist on a spectrum where the bottom tier is VERY bad, and you can get really fancy and crazy with them in terms of components and toppings, but it's pretty hard to beat the classic done well with high quality ingredients! And they're easy to make at home, so it really comes down to: 1) High quality Meat: I can't remember if you still keep halal, but a nice all-beef hot dog is great anyway. If you're not worried about halal you can either go all pork, all beef, or mix and match (pork chili, beef dog or vice versa) 2) Chili is garnish and seasoning. Personally, I think you shouldn't TOTALLY drown the hot dog or you miss out on the nice high quality meat as noted in 1. Also, I love Chili so I break this rule myself all the time ;) Again, you have options here since the old school fast food and fair chili dogs are actually descended from Greek/Macedonian meat sauces, NOT tex-mex chili con carne. I PERSONALLY go with a nice cumin and oregano heavy, meaty tex-mex chili. I'm perfectly ok eating my chili dog with a knife and fork: If I'm being a lazy slob and NOT making my own chili I'll use something classic like Hormel Chunky Beef W/ Beans, just to give you a sense of heat/flavor profile, but again it comes down to your favorites. It's more about adding some warmth and savory complexity than trying to blow the top of your skull and make you reach for the chilled toilet paper. 3) Good quality cheddar cheese or if you dislike cheddar something a bit creamier and milder (cheddar jack, monterey jack, etc) , freshly shredded to top with. Stuff like diced onions is optional. Combine! Dunno how fragile your gut is with the cancer treatment, but if you're making it at home you can calibrate the chili/meat sauce accordingly. Like I said, for my money it should be warming and savory but not "Oh god where's the milk" hot. Now, with all that said...I want to make some Chili Dogs....

Example: Wienerschnitzel is not a good chili dog, but you taste one and you'll understand what the bottom-tier chili dog tastes like. Any other chili dog you have after that will be better, so if you like it, it's only up from there.

2025-02-03 07:18:22 +0000 UTCWhen people ask why it hurt to twist his wrist like that, I like to explain it this way: It hurt Knuckles for the same reason that Eggman, Stone, and Sonic were in pain when Knuckles shook their hands, despite a handshake being a perfectly normal, harmless action. Yes, the action in of itself isn't inherently painful. Just like casually gripping someone's hand probably isn't going to hurt, turning your wrist in that way also probably isn't going to hurt. The reason why both of these actions caused pain in the movies is because of the amount of force being applied to that otherwise normal action. Knuckles wasn't just casually gripping their hands, he was CRUSHING their hands. Likewise, Shadow wasn't just casually turning Knuckles' wrist, he was twisting it at hypersonic speeds, and doing so AGAINST Knuckles' actively attempting to hold it in that position for a punch.

Also, the Live and Learn bit at the end when Shadow joins Sonic is actually Shadow's theme song from the games that was wildly popular at the time. Sonic fans were going into this with the expectation that it would be used; not disappointed. The Sonic Franchise is really showing that good video game movies are not only possible, but very doable when you actually give the fans what they want and respect the source material.

It feels so nice to have a movie franchise in which not only do they respect the source material, but they also listen to the audience. As long as the 4th movie can keep that level of quality, I'm all for it. Also, the first time I watched the movie, I spent so much time worrying about Agent Stone because I wanted him to finally be acknowledged so much. When the 2 Robotniks were in the station in space, I kept thinking "Ok, but what about Stone, is he ok?". That man's story was not necessary for the general plot, but boy am I glad they put it in there, because I loved it.

First, a lot of people pointed out that yes, knuckles wouldn’t be hurt by his wrist being turned the right way. However, I can forgive it bc the way it was composed wouldn’t look as good if it was done correctly. Second, Jim Carrey retired after sonic 2, and said he’d only return to do another movie if the script was amazing. Shortly afterward, he was announced to be in sonic 3. This is now one of his highest grossing films. He’s said he’d be interested in returning for 4, however, if he does, I want it to be an alternate version of eggman. Like you said, this was the perfect send off for our eggman. Glad you enjoyed this film as much as I did. And yes, I’d enjoy a reaction to detective pikachu.

I felt my childhood heal a bit noticing all the Sonic Adventure 2 references they make. You can really feel the love the production team has for the source material while also making it a banger movie adaptation.

Maybe even multiple iterations, like Eggman from the show Sonic Boom, Sonic 06 ....blegh, and a bunch of others working together....or at least trying to. I suppose packing the film that introduces Amy and Metal Sonic with multiple Eggmen and the Multiverse concept might be a bit too much, but if they do it right it would be a ton of fun. Possibly better than even this film.

In the game it plays during a similar scene. I highly recommend listening to it cause it can be considered Shadows theme song due to the lyrics fitting his story so well. The movie takes advantage of this and uses it as Shadows leitmotif throughout the movie.

Also Shadow is getting his own movie, that is most likely where Rogue will show up. Considering the Robot Sonic seemed to be time traveling (if I read the terminator reference correctly), we might actually get Silver in the next one.

"The light shines even though the star is gone." Is a perfect line to reflect a lost loved one. The only bad thing I can say about the film is that they seemed to want to make the director feel like a villain but than gave up half way in. Otherwise peak cinema especially when Live and Learn kicks in.

Sonic 3 is the game that introduced Knuckles and was the final game in the original Genesis series They take a lot of liberties with the story and characters but it's still Sonic Adventure 2 in spirit. For example, the GUN base Gerald was working on was in space and Maria was there because she had a degenerative disease and Shadow was being created partly as to find a cure for her. And GUN was absolutely intentional in killing Maria. They just straight up shot her as she saves Shadow and sent him to Earth with a final wish that Shadow could not remember as he had amnesia. He thought her wish was to get revenge on humanity when it was actually to forgive them and help them. He eventually remembers this and teams up with Sonic to save the world just like in the movie. Also the "Shadow loves Latinas" thing is just a fan-made meme. Not an actual Shadow personality trait.

There's so many references, "Low budget flight" is from the start of Sonic Adventure 2, the Alien Freak is the Biolizard from SA2, the highlights and Hot Topic jokes are possibly a Snapcube Fandub reference. I'm looking forward to seeing how they adapt Metal Sonic into the story and if the final encounter is Metal Overlord with "What I'm made of" I'm gonna be fangirling in the cinema. This is a film series where you can tell its a passion project with how the directors appealed to the fans.

2025-02-02 15:42:03 +0000 UTCWhile this isn't really a trilogy since they've already obviously got a new story in mind, with the way things ended here it DOES feel like the end of movie trilogy covering the Eggman arc of the story. So that being said...I can honestly say that I genuinely feel like this was one of the rare trilogies where every entry managed to surpass its predecessor. Really looking forward to the next one and hoping that they don't start losing steam, because there's so much more of the Sonic universe that they could explore in a lot of really cool ways as long as they don't burn out.

Guy was socialised by nerdy scientists and one kid, in either the 50s or 70s depending on canon. He WILL have read comic books, and figured out the posturing monologuing brooding-villain bit was appropriate when he showed up with a space gun pointed at the world.
