I think Gordon is a much better chef than he is an interior decorator. A lot of times he just makes everything white and modern which can take away the character and the feel of the restaurant.

2025-02-16 03:01:36 +0000 UTCive worked in bad restraunts before, the reason the health inspector doesnt shut them down is because we would only do the cleaning the week the health inspector was supposed to show up, other than that the rest of the year everyone else just let the place waste away without labeling anything or cleaning, it drove me mad.

2025-02-14 19:10:40 +0000 UTCGood job Gordon was here to parent Nino because his parents did a bad job of raising their children. My problem with episodes like this is it always seems like the parents put a lot of pressure on their eldest kid from the day he was born, named the restaurant after him, probably fed him with a silver spoon, didn’t properly raise him, probably always intended for Nino to take over the restaurant but seemingly didn’t bother teaching him how to manage the restaurant (or maybe even ask Nino if that’s what he wanted) and growing him Nino was driven to alcohol perhaps because of pressure from his parents and Mike. There’s just so much we don’t learn about what led these people to this point. Also, earlier on the episode you said “if Mike talked about his alocohol issues then that would make him in the wrong” but when the mum said Nino relapsed a few years back and was so bad he had to be restrained in the hospital you just praised the mum. The bias is sometimes hard to watch.
