I feel like a lot of the editing in the episode was done to make a story that wasn't there. Sebass is also trying to become an actor, which really makes me think that some stuff he staged to "create" drama. Hell, a lot of the scenes feel like they're from different days mashed together. Very strange episode.

2025-02-19 08:00:03 +0000 UTCI definitely feel like that's one of the less appealing parts of the episode. While some of the remodels are gorgeous (and some...not so much), I do think it'd be more beneficial for many of the owners in the long run if the remodeling was a joint effort where they brainstormed theme ideas with Gordon, and then he and his team found ways to make that theme work. Granted, as others have said, there are some owners we see on the show who would probably just adamantly refuse/dislike any changes Gordon tries to make on principle because of their egos. People like Sebastian, Nino, or Amy would likely refuse it purely on the basis that changing anything would imply they're wrong about something, and they simply can't tolerate that. But there are also a number of owners on the show who I think would've been happy with redesigning the restaurant if they were more involved in the process.

2025-02-18 21:09:23 +0000 UTCWait drinking in public is a crime? Is that why people had to hide their alcohol in brown paper bags outside if they drink it, I used to work at a grocery store and that was a thing

2025-02-18 01:32:50 +0000 UTCNow of course like Alicia said, it has to be professionally taken photos are are merged with the background design of the menu. But that’s standard for all restaurants. Designers are cheap

2025-02-17 22:55:52 +0000 UTCNot sure I agree with Gordon on one thing: Menus with pictures isn’t always bad. It’s probably not a good idea for western restaurants. But for chinese restaurants, especially in China, even the high end Michelin star restaurants give you photos of their food. In fact, for all my years in China, the only menus without pictures I’ve seen, are from Beijing’s traditional Halal hotpots. Where the menu is just different positions on the same lamb

2025-02-17 19:47:47 +0000 UTCWhat he's imagining with the menu, is the ideal scenario where customers understand it at first go Where the workers remember the full thing Where people have fun and enjoy making individual things together Unfortunately, that's complete dream land stuff People come into stores and when told there's a two for one sale on an item they're getting, will go "you're just trying to make me buy more" cause they aren't prepared to think about things like that when going to buy a certain thing They *won't* get some customizable chimera of a menu

2025-02-17 17:37:49 +0000 UTCthe only time i appreciate pictures in a menu is when it's a restaurant with cuisine from another country with names i dont understand at all so i can at least get an idea of what it will be

2025-02-17 16:07:41 +0000 UTCWith weight gain Doctors see so many people who are eating themselves to death the doctors have heard every excuse. We dont have enough tools to monitor a patients calorie intake to show doctors that in fact yes this weight gain is unexplained by food

2025-02-17 14:49:52 +0000 UTCFair since this guy has an inflated Hollywood ego.. I'm more referring to in general how I think it would be a lot easier to accept if the owner felt they had Some input, so they don't feel like just a Gordan chain restaurant

2025-02-17 13:48:47 +0000 UTCI think even the “Giving them a Gordon Style” would upset him. Like I understand the sentiment, but you know Sebastian would want the whole menu to be his, not just bits and pieces.

2025-02-17 13:08:49 +0000 UTCWhen it comes to photos on the menu, there are a few times I really want to see photos. A major reason is if it's a type of cuisine I'm not familiar with, so I have trouble visualizing it from the description, or if that restaurant does a twist of a classic, I want to understand what the end result of that twist is before ordering.. If I have to ask questions to understand what a dish is, I am way less likely to order it than if they just put a picture

2025-02-17 12:34:09 +0000 UTCWhich is something I can actually respect... Edit: except for the fact he's bringing his wife down with him. That is irresponsible and poor treatment of a partner! Make it financially successful and get out of debt First! Or just have a small 3-5 item Owner Specials tab where you can put your passion project dishes It's not just some chain, it's His restaurant, so removing every part of him to succeed with someone else's idea means the same thing as closing to him: that He is a failure. Honestly, I wish Gordon would try to work with the owner a little when designing the new menu, even as little as asking if there were any specific styles of dish the owner would want included, and then give them a Gordon style. It would help remove a LOT of conflict from pride for the owner to have some input rather than be blindsided.... but then it may not be as good of TV lol

You've no idea how much these brighten my day <3 Edit: btw, as a neurodivergent, hearing that comment at 16:40 made me so happy. 2025-02-17 00:24:06 +0000 UTCOh boy, 1 hour 50 for a 40 minute episode…this must be a nightmare. The reaction to a kiss on the cheek was insane…I guess I’ll be reading your fiancé’s AITA on Reddit one day. As an a person from England it’s hard not to laugh when Gordon says “professional tossed” because it’s something else entirely in my mind.
