Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

:D hehe it's here!!!

Comments

The thing I always notice and love--toward the end, Miles impresses the other Spider-mans by using the spinning collider to swing to the ceiling. They mention that neither of them taught him that. That's the same maneuver Peter Parker used at the beginning to get to the ceiling, meaning in a small way, this reality's Peter also helped mentor him.

Avery Corvus

Man, I could watch that reaction again. her commentary really added a lot of context to what makes this movie great.

LegoKitty

1:33:45 didd you really make a key and Peele joke XD??

Dude559

sorry mate yah got it reversed. Pete is from Queens and Steve is from Brooklyn

Alymorphous

The other Spiderman's from Brooklyn too. Captain America is from Queens.

Molly McAllister

Now go watch Across the Spiderverse asap!!! It’s the best superhero movie ever made

Dusty V

Very clearly showed that prowler had nightvision why did you gaslight yourself into thinking he doesn't

Cube Pylum

1:23:45 I love Nicholas cage as spiderman noir, he sells it so well

UndeadNovaKing 0

Soooo are u gonna watch the sequel eventually orrr...?

Model_124

tbh, when i first heard of Miles Morales, i thought "they want to kill off spidy and replace him with a black dude because it's the current thing again" after watching: "oh, he a completely new spidy not just advanced blackface" the hollywood gingercide really messed me up i think

Cat on Crack

Maybe it's just me, but Miles flubbing the lyrics to a song he likes is one thing I just cannot relate to. Maybe it's just me, but if I like a song, then I KNOW the lyrics, otherwise what even is the point in listening to it if I don't know what it's saying?

Kevin Bartelen

Just a future FYI, if it's Spider-Man, it's Sony. Marvel sold the movie rights for Spider-Man to Sony a long time ago, and the only reason there even is an MCU Spider-Man is because Sony is playing nice with Marvel, but the movies are still therefor Sony.

Kevin Bartelen

1:09:26 It's the Spot!

EthanEverhart

One of my FAVORITE bits is with penni Parker. And the best down of scorpion. She has a really nice moment to get that last satisfying hit , with a amazing anime impact frame ,but really drives it home , she did that with THE SEVERED ROBOT AKA LAST MOMENTO OF HER FATHER.

Gavin Thomas

Also the color scheme when Miles spider sense went off around peter went from prowlers color scheme to spiderman. That was always an underrated touch

DeAnthony Potts

Something I absolutely fucking adore about this movie art direction wise that I noticed and I’m sure other people in the comments have already pointed out is this. As miles starts the movie he is purposefully at a lower frame rate than everyone else to show that he should look and feel when just by watching him that he doesn’t fit in with everyone else. As he grows and other characters like his dad and people around him grow their frame rate gradually gets higher as they find themselves. You can really see it when miles and Peter are together in the forest and their frames are very different. By the end of the movie when miles has found himself he is loads smoother on screen. As someone who is an artist and loves film making I've never seen this done before anywhere else and it still blows me away every time I watch this movie. Such a 10/10

NekoSoophie!

So I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, and with the detail you usually catch, I'm surprised this one slipped by you. Peter B. Parker is the closest thing to mainstream comic Spider-Man, which is why he has such a crap life and horrible luck. When he and Miles first talk, he calls the override key a Goober. When we meet Aunt May later, she also calls it a Goober. Peter B. buried his Aunt May already, so he calls it a Goober for her. Also random fun facts, in the animation, the other Spider people are animated smoother to show they're mastery of their power and abilities. Miles is animated more choppy for majority of the movie, until the leap of faith, when he finally gets it and the rest of the movie, he is animated the same way as the others. Also because you noted the Prowler theme that plays during his scenes. Miles, Spider-Man theme in this movie, is the Prowler theme in reverse.

Ryan Torres

Tbf pigs will eat pretty much anything already lol

Ryan Torres

I hope it all goes well for you man. Even if it's only baby steps right now, it really does matter when you can see they're trying. I don't have my dad anymore so I'm rooting for the both of you

Ryan Torres

Fun Fact: some of the team that writes the Peni Parker book is a pretty big anime fan, several of her classmates are cameos of fairly high-profile anime characters. Fun to see.

dune rat

I always forget Spiderham was a spider bitten by a radioactive pig

FunkyOnion

This is one of my favorite movies of all time honestly.

Pcdruid

Somebody else has to have said this already, probably will on youtube, but the constant 42 is a reference to Jackie Robinson's jersey number.

Kyutoko

Yo team, it ain’t that deep man

Tyler Tatom

That's like saying that neither of the LotR movies are a full movie too, like wtf. Just because a movie has a direct sequel doesn't take away from it as a work of art and a complete movie in it's own right.

Kabelsatan

So after re-watching her reaction I came to a heart breaking realization. Because Uncle Aaron immediately chased after miles he never got a chance to see the letter that he wrote before he died😭

I-Jah Armstrong

idk bro this one is definitely more emotional and is complete by itself

Sword Arther

After you watch Across the Spiderverse you should watch Nimona and Mitchell vs the Machines.

DeAnthony Potts

ATSV is not even a full movie, what do you mean it's better

ThatOne Hooman

Watch the next one quickly plzzz! It’s so much better

Tyler Tatom

Spider-noir is the best part of this movie. But like this movie would of been an awful experience for Gwen, like her peter turned himself into the lizard, and their fight resulted in his death, and now she has to spend the whole movie with an old, miserable, pudgy version of him

Orireth

I remember watching this in theaters right when it came out after Stan died and just tears streaming down my face when they did the Peter Parker News broadcast. Then seeing Stan in the store made it hit 10x harder. RIP to the legend Stan Lee.

hypnofish

Remember when Peter asks if her friends call her Doc Ock, and she replies that actually her friends call her Liv, it's her enemies that call her Doc Ock? When the bad guys all show up at Aunt Mays house, she calls her Liv. Love that detail.

sandbun

When this movie first came out, I was a hater, No way this could be on of the best spider man films, let alone one the best. Finally got around to watching it out of curiosity, man I couldn’t have been more wrong! Absolutely love this film. I’m sooooo excited for you to see the second one now!

Wesley Lambert

I love the Spiderverse films so much, and that final speech from Miles about anyone can wear the mask is a call back to Stan Lee's words about how Spiderman can be any kid because of the mask. "You know one of the greatest things about Spiderman's outfit? He is completely covered, so any kid could imagine he's Spiderman."

Pablonius

You absolutely should watch The Wild Robot. Dreamworks also made that one, it's art is fantastic, and frankly, you could not find more perfect themes for you.

Iain McDonald

1:54:52 she said "hes got the swagger of an urban youth "

Lance Ivy

This is considered the best Spider-Man movie for a reason. And no, that's not an exaggeration, it's the highest rated out of all of the Spider-Man films, and it's easy to see why. This movie did a lot: it made Sony leave their animation department alone because when they do, they get amazing hit after amazing hit from them; it made movies like Puss n' Boots 2 possible, thanks to the creativity of the team and their experimenting with artistic designs and concepts, including the idea of lowering the framerate, making the action and fast motions easy to track and remember. Not to mention you can pause at any point during this and Puss n' Boots and get a still image that looks amazing, some looking what could be the poster shot with how cool it is. It also introduced many people, myself included, to a number of new Spider-heroes we didn't even know about. Miles wasn't that big of a name before this movie, nor was Penni or any of the others. But thanks in part to this movie, their comics are getting a lot more attention. And...well, I mean, Miles got 2 games and Penni's in Rivals, so...yeah, they thriving. Now we just need more Spider-Gwen...

YubarReingok

Dont watch the sequel of this one until watched the 3rd one of spiderman of the mcu

Faroth

But only after watching the mcu one, since are related

Faroth

Same for his spidersense. Originally was purple and green, but became red and blue after meeting spiderman from his dimension and connect with him, syncronizing his powers with its own dimension

Faroth

Cool thing: the spider that bite Miles was glitching, meaning it was from another dimension When Miles meet the spiderman from his dimension, the spidersense in peter is red and blue, but in miles is green and purple, but after a moment of 'connection' with peter, the spidersense of miles kinda syncronize with peter's and become red and blue, adapting the powers he got to his dimension even when the spider wasnt from there

Faroth

She needs to keep watching the mcu first

Faroth

Is more than just 'coloring', it becomes more evident in the sequel

Faroth

I like that you recognized and appreciate all the small animation details in this. It gets even better in the sequel if you can believe it!

Cultured Degenerate

I loved this movie so much I went to see it 3 times. One with friends, then with my mom and sister, then once with my dad. My dad and I have trouble, he’s been verbally abusive and has anger issues. But I’m smart enough to know a lot of it’s inherited and taught from his parents. The two of us went to see this movie. It’s HEAVY on the father son relationship stuff. And I could tell by how he acted that it impacted him somehow. After all these years the problems haven’t gone away, but there’s something new… like he’s trying more.

Fobbles

Good memories :)

Fobbles

I know it is just coloring but I love how Spider-Gwen's suit incorporates all the Trans Pride Flag colors it is so cool.

Lucifer Moon

She isn't ready for the sequel

The Gaming Morgana

Get Fax to watch the sequel with you.

Yaboi7117

this movie was released on the same weekend i first went to see my boyfriend in-person, my sister flew me out to him as a christmas/birthday present. i remember they went out to see it while i was with him in his home, and it all felt immensely warm just like my icon. later went to see the film, a parent complained about it being animated lol

Yagi di Hoshi

this movie is my everything i didn't think you would react to it!!!!!

Chris Foley

Oh my god- Two Spider-Man movies AND Thor: Ragnarok??? Girl you’re FEEDING us today

PokéBoyBB

so cool! I hope you react to the next movie soon

JoJo

My Favorite Spiderman by Miles.

Rinnzu Rosendale

Peak cinema

Xori

This is the movie that showed to the industry that "2D" 3D artistic style is possible. Puss and Boots came later and was inspired by it.

Julio 🤔

I swear if Sony cans the movie ....

Jaffar Black Fang

it's all but confirmed in the meta text of the film

Harper

yeah cause it's funny

Harper

This style has become its own sub genre at this point and now we have several movies that use this kind of animation. Mitchell’s vs the machines Puss and Boots-last wish Ninja Turtles Mutant mayhem.

Moviejunkie

34:24 Alicia wasn't bullshitting, Thatt does mean that??? ( reference from a spongebob reaction a few weeks ago) ifykyk

Memento Forever

The sequel is an 11/10 frfr

Dhaval Kale

Another cool thing with the animation is when miles first gets his powers he’s animated on 12s, half the normal frame rate of an animation. It makes him slightly jittery and choppy compared to everything else being on 24s. But in the chase scene with doc ock, as Peter B. Parker is teaching him to swing and miles finally understands he comes up to 24s. Suddenly his movements are as smooth as everyone else’s.

dan1023ghi

It's "Clone College", since Lord & Miller, the producers, also made "Clone High". In Earth-1610, the show didn't get cancelled & they made it to a movie! XD

Carus Lumen

Preach! This is the biggest revolution to filmmaking in terms of animation & storytelling since Shrek!

Carus Lumen

Across the Spider Verse is even better.

Egregore

Now you have no choice but to watch Across the spider verse

Thomas Garcia

the triple surprise of goated uploads. My excitement cannot be quantified.

Eric Tanahara

Man this movie is so good. That doc ock twist was done so well. This version of doc ock is unique to the movie. One interesting thing: she knows about the multiverse decay that happens to people from other realities. She knows that the same thing happening to alternate Peter Parker will happen to kingpin’s wife and kid, and she doesn’t tell kingpin. Also: I don’t know if you caught it, but spider-ham, aka Peter porker, was a spider bitten by a radioactive pig. The pig that bit him was actually May Porker

Andrew birds

the second one is better I fear (unpopular opinion mayhaps…unsure)

aki's boyfriend

I'm now hoping and going to be waiting for the next movie for this one

TroyDarkness1 ___

If you want more stylization, definitely watch TMNT: Mutant Mayhem!

dc

Did you actually read the rules for the marvel code of conduct? it's pretty crazy that they have to follow for comics and movies that have that stamp.

Mmidnight Mistake

Oh man do I love this movie. Watched it two or three times as well as watching reactors for it two or three times. One thing I don't know if you caught, Miles' movements when running are inspired by his uncle. I saw a breakdown of sounds and that growl for Prowler was reworked into Miles' theme.

Arashi

Legit 10 out of 10 movie AND reaction. Loved it! The style was unreal seeing it in theaters - it was unlike anything else, crazy how perfect they did it. Thanks for the reaction, enjoyed it!

L Freya

If I can recommend a movie: Next Gen. Anyone who's seen it probably knows when I thought of it during this movie.

SweetCandle

@1:00:00 Huh. I never knew how cosplayers suffer for our enjoyment... bless them.

Joy the Black Dragon

YESSSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS

Phantom Pledge

Alicia, you might notice that a lot of elements of Miles Morales' origin ended up getting lifted for the MCU version of Spider Man: -Placed at a Magnet School for Science and Tech -Ned from MCU is heavily based on the comic version of Ganke (the room-mate you see in this movie) etc.

Linnaeus

The entire Miles Morales origin and the entire cast of characters is handled much better in this movie than the comics, IMO.

Linnaeus

Exactly right. This film does a TON of visual effects that are either from the visual language of comics (spidey-sense wavy lines, ditko dots for the energy beams, the lines from Aaron's mouth when he laughs, etc) or were originally artifacts of the printing/typography process and are repurposed (depth of field and things being out of focus color separate, like when the print heads aren't quite aligned on 3-color printing, something you see all the time on comics, shadow and shading effects are done with ben-day dots, etc).

Linnaeus

This was the last movie Stan would be in before he passed away

Silver Raven

Is "Male announcer reading text on screen" really a necessary caption?

SweetCandle

I hate being one of these guys but they genuinely ruined Noir, he is actually a serious character who is actually willing to kill. That is actually my favorite spider-man and they turned him into a joke

Craig

The relationship w/ Miles and his dad hits me so hard. I lost my dad a few years back and I cant not cry during their conversations. This movie is so peak and SUCH a great watch.

James T Williams

Alicia, u did it! We're so proud of you for not skipping end credits! Much love to ya Hshsjdhs

Skerm Salcido

goated movie

scatman's world

"Ditko dots" yeah?

Jathby Dredas

I’m going to assume Alicia isn’t familiar with the Spider-Man internet memes and that’s why she didn’t react to them but for the studio to show that much love to the culture just blew my mind when I saw this in the theater.

Daisy Azuras

What's up danger... the most iconic moment of the movie

Kaz

I didn’t realize this movie made me so emotional, had me crying throughout

Cark

Stan Lee passed one month before this movie released which makes his cameo here hit so much harder. I cried a little in the theater when he said the mask always fits.

DragonPup

One of the best things I like about this film is that once the spider bite happens and the Spider-Sense comes through, all the Spider-People are animated in different ways. From full different styles to different frame rates. This is also the first movie that came out after Stan Lee's death, so his message of "Anyone could be Spider-Man" was something sorely needed. Perfect movie. Perfect, if unfortunate, timing. While the MCU would still hold rather strong for a while imo, this is actually the absolute BEST superhero movie of all time.

Kamvex

I love how she brought up Puss in Boots last wish when comparing. Puss in Boots was inspired by into the spiderverse

vincent shiflett

I know alicia will appreciate this - they actually had different frame rates for Miles and Peter B. And in the forest as he is teaching him to swing, their frame rates start to sync up.

Benjamin Keppel

It’s worth mentioning that Peni Parker’s design and mannerisms in this film are based on Gurren Lagann.

Raif H. Galloway

Please watch the cinemawins episode for this.

Chris

is not "my perspective", is what the creator of miles morales said and without giving spoilers, thats actually the main plot of the 2nd movie: "being a different spiderman"

Faroth

I absolutely love this movie and the reaction, i’m a digital artist and a long time Spider-Man fan. So this movie was peak in everything. Still play some of the track songs from this movie. “ our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure….” Oh my god I love Coach Carter. I have such respect for those who know that movie and who get into the deeper meaning of it. It doesn’t matter what race or gender you are, we are all human and we ought to love our neighbors as much as possible because that is a united community. I especially love how Alicia sees the character development of all the characters, especially Jeff, Miles and Aaron. Keep that “expectations” picture in your mind for the next movie, it’s so freaking epic how they connected that parallel.

Yaboi7117

what a beautiful movie

TheTrueScientist

I agree with your perspective on creating a whole different character in order to promote diversity, instead of using the same sort of character, and just giving him a makeover and a different ethnic background. Because at the end of the day just remaking a character to fit the times of our social bias doesn’t make it art. The story can still be similar in some regards it just has to be a little different so that it’s not the same exact story just colored differently.

Yaboi7117

listening to the soundtrack before watching the movie is so real of you, the amount of times ive done that for shows and movies is kinda hilarious, usually it what convinces me to watch something, like with jojo

Ellerian

“I’m assuming drugs” is crazy work

Ben Yokes

So good to see Alicia watch one of my favorite movies, this one is peak 10/10, lost count how many times I rewatched it

Leticia

fun fact. the unique style of the movie was caused by budget restraints when Sony decided to fund another movie. The Emoji movie. The Emoji movie made Spiderverse so iconic

Cole Savoie

1:22:30 his nose blinks because are actually "eyes". if you get to his background scene, he was a SPIDER who was bitten by a radioactive PIG,, so he is actually a mutated spider that transformed into a pig but keep his spider abilities, which is why he dont care about eating bacon

Faroth

That stan lee cameo hit so much harder than the others for me because this was the first marvel movie I saw after Him and Ditko's passing. and his line responding to the costume fitting saying "it always fits....eventually," is such a profound quote, but at the same time shifting over to the no refunds sign adds a hilarious twist to the line.

Soul

Pathetic Boyflop hobo spiderman is just the most attractive to me 😔😔

Middyrose

Love the reaction/commentary, this movie is nice and the second one also good. Sucks that everything going on with the voice actors and animators. The third movie was supposed to release in 2024, now it's been pushed back to 2029. Miles' voice actor is a total creep. Love the W content

burntbean20

Can't wait for the 3rd movie in 2035

ThatOne Hooman

32:12 that particle effect that looks like bubbles is always used by marvel in the comics as "interdimensional energy", no other kind of beam or power should look like that, so every time in marvel comcis that you seee someones powers or a machinge with that effect, is because is "interdimensional"

Faroth

I'm pretty sure it's fine.

PerfectYarn

Can't wait for her reaction to the next one.

Mikal Adkins

Aint she watching this too soon ? or nah am i wrong-

Undiscovered Gold Titan

one thing the producers and animators said about the movie is that they made it completely different: the frame per second is different than notmal and they made it so you can pause at ANY moment the movie and it would look like a comic's panel

Faroth

True, however in terms of the overall mrssage by the end it still holds up pretty close to the first for me.

GrimPitbull

I find it interesting that this is the first time that i percieved the movie so differently from Alicia, even while seeing her perspective the whole time. It was more of a 7/10 instead of 10 for me. But i'm very happy for her, that she liked it that much, so i'm not gonna point out my critics, to not potentially lower anybodies mood about this movie. :)

IamBaum

Can't wait for you to see the sequel

Xenocrona

I really like at the end where Miles takes the goober to plug in and Gwen and Peter both say they didn't teach him that. It's because he copied what the original blonde Peter did at the very beginning of the movie.

Aerowind

1:13:06 - didnt realize till re-watching it through alica but, is that gwen n peter B you can see fly out from the top in the distance during the power outage?

Easy Mode - A.I

This movie a an easy 10/10. And yet the sequel is somehow even better

Adam Jones

Fun Fact they don't tell you. When Miles meets Peter B. Parker Spider-Man, Miles color was green and purple indicating that he was supposed to be the next prowler and then changes to red and blue for Spider-Man.

Ten-ten

This is one of my top 3 movies of all time. Every single line in this movie was so well written. A huge amount of callbacks which make the whole movie seem extremely cohesive. So much passion put into the art, hundreds of references and little fun facts put into the film. They actively animated Miles in less FPS until he finally embraced being spiderman to show how awkward he is. Best family story in a while. Good genuine non-token representation. Everything 10/10

WallessJ

the spiderverse movies are legit peak idk how tf they manage to make something this flawless and good, everything from Spiderman the side characters abd all it so good and somehow someway the next one either tops it or close to so excited for you to watch the sequal. Also excited if you choose to revisit the old spiderman movies

AyatoMisubi

As someone who’s been reading Marvel Comics for the past 20-ish years I always forget that there are people unaware that Miles’ origin starts with Peter’s death.

David Bland

I adore this movie! It's so perfect. The Mitchells vs The Machines on Netflix is another one that does great stylized 3D and has a beautiful family story.

Usually Shalune

Can't wait to see you react to Across the Spider-verse, its just as good if not better then this one.

Switchchris27

Fun Fact about "uncle Aaron" in Spiderman:WelcomeHome (mcu) the guy that peter interrogate in the parking lot (using the menacingnvoice) and web his hand to the trunk of the car, is named "Aaron davis", and he says he "has a nephew on the neighbourhood" and that's why he partly helps spiderman, to get those weapons out of the streets That actor is Donald Glover, who, when sony was restarting the spiderman franquise after Toby Maguire's Spiderman, Glover was interested in the role, he was acting in the 'Community' series at the time, and he appeared wearing a spiderman t-shirt to promote itself for the role. Andrew Garfield ended up being the 2nd spiderman but Glover's effort was not worthless: Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis created the character of Milew Morales after watching the actor in a 2010 episode of 'Community' comedically wearing the Spider-Man costume, under Stan Lee's premise that "anyone can be spiderman" (stan lee sayed once that wasnt the intention when created but spiderman costume hide his skin color, which leads to that premise) and that helped into not breaking to "a black version of Peter Parker", but rather "a new character who ALSO is a spiderman" which leads to create even more different characters who ALSO are spiderman without being peter parker= enter the expanded "Spiderverse" that we see in the movie This leaded that after this movie, a lot of artist online created their "spidersonas" Glover also portrayed the voice of Miles Morales in the 2015 series 'Ultimate Spider-Man' and in this movie, we can see while Miles enter's Aaron apartment there is a tv showing the Community scene when Glover is wearing the spiderman's t-shirt, we can see it in Alicia's reaction at 16:04

Faroth

Until Miles has his moment he's animated in 12fps instead of 24

Jonathan Kennedy

The "What's up Danger" scene is easily one of my favorite scenes ever and lives rent free in my head. While not technically the climax, it's the culmination of THE arc of the movie. Myles truly becoming Spider-Man. And it's so perfect.

bc@t

"You got a problem with cartoons?" is a line I ALWAYS use when people diss traditional 2d animation or complain about more looney animation in 3D.

UltramanUltimo

Also if you haven’t seen it before the guys who made this also did the Lego movie. Also very good with amazing animation

SyrupMcWaffle

This movie is a goddamn masterpiece. You mentioned the animation style? You could pause on ANY frame in this movie, look super close at any detail in it, and think it came right out of a printed comic book. The music choices are great, and they're used perfectly. The VAs are perfect. The directing is flawless. The whole package is just... *chef kiss* The sequel is even more THAT, and might just be my favorite movie of all time. It's definitely in the top 3. Side-note: If you haven't played the recent Spider-Man games (The ones that were playstation exclusive for a while, before getting ported to PC), you should, they're great).

Silvia Dragoness

Since i know you dont have time to go back to look at an easter egg in Homecoming. when peter scans donald glover's character is name is Aaron Davis. and he mentions he has a nephew he is looking out for when he says why he helps pete.

blue cloak

The only way you could watch another movie after this and not be disappointed is if you watch the sequel

Rashan Evans

so happy we got her to react to some john mulany stand ups before she got here.

WindWarriorPlays

Jefferson is so much better in this movie then in the comics

Maddie the witch

From what I understand this movie is animated on 2s, which is why it has such a distinct visual style. If you play the sony spiderman games (which you should cause you would love the stories) you can put on a miles spiderverse costume which will change the framerate for just miles' model and let you look like your animated spiderverse style which is really cool. So glad you loved this one, one of the best movies ive ever seen .

Levi Tompkins

So I'm sure there are comments about it but in the first 2/3rds of the film Miles is actually animated at 12fps rather than 24fps, while all of the other Spider-Folx are animated at 24fps the whole film; this really helped sell that he was indeed a step behind everyone else BUT when he came into his own as SM he is animated at 24fps to signify visually that he's grown.

Xu Yang

There's an entire community of Spider-People on VRChat. We all got our Spider-Sonas. Everyone with Unique designs and stories from around the world. https://youtu.be/hUFOU38t_C4?si=NceZe8kB-tQW8BPr

Connor Ellis

24:00 omg they put the name Gwanda in the voice actress thing xD

Stargeryen

I've never seen that end credit scene before, that's funny AF!

Tony

This is my favourite movie. Not just favourited animated movie, not just favourite superhero movie. Favourite movie. Actually peak cinema without even the slightest hint of sarcasm.

Bob

Gonna play the waiting game for the 2nd movie 🥲🥹

jrjrjrjr

Gotta be my favorite movie. I cant even remember how many times I already watched this movie, and every time I do rewatch it, its a blast. Also probs to Alicia for not missing the end credits scene

Bruh_ve

Forget Top Comic Book Films or even Top Animated Films, this easily makes my Top 20 Films Period (Speaking of Top 20 Films Period, Mad Max Fury Road and Godzilla Minus One are both prime reaction material, just saying)

nervouspirate

we never know. maybe if they locked in we could

Tob

Just got back from grocery shopping with snacks to find this, classic spidey and thor ragnarok the rat pack eating good today.

Kieren

Slow day at work for a Sunday! Yes sirrrrrr I get to watch this and Thor 🥹

Jimmy Recinos

Man if she liked this one I can't wait to see her watch the second one and No Way Home

TheKingFin

You SHOULD rewatch the Toby Meguire trilogy. And give Andrew Garfield Spider-Man a chance. They all held up amazingly well.

TurtleKungFu

absolute peak incoming!

Gildarts1#fan

So glad you loved it! This movie's one of my all-time faves

Joey245

weird Easter egg, Miles dad is named after the president of the confederacy from the US civil war, I have no idea what they meant by that but there it is.

Jacob

I tried to see if this was said yet and haven't seen it posted. But a cool detail is miles is animated in 30fps for most of that movie. All the other spider people are animated in 60fps symbolizing that understand their abilities as spider man. It isn't till the leap of faith moment that Miles goes from 30fps to 60fps gaining his understanding as a spiderman.

Sebastian Rangel

uncle Aaron was Childish Gambino character in Spider-Man Homecoming

Ronix

This movie is so good. A true work of art.

NebulaNyx

Spiderverse was groundbreaking. Puss in Boots was very much inspired by this movie. Unfortunately the third movie was put on hold due to the writers strike a few years back... Second was amazing so hope it gets to come out before long.

SouthHill

what an incredible film. man its too bad we never getting the batman beyond movie in this art style

Kyriakos dn2

puss in boots came out some years after this - they were clearly inspired

Silver Blade

yippie :3

Link

Especially since the MCU movies have callbacks to both other series.

Speed1247

I saw this film four times while it was in theaters: once by myself, three other times with friends/girls that I dragged with me, raving the entire way there that it was a perfect film and they had to see it and they were gonna thank me afterwards. Every time I watch it im reminded what a phenomenal tour de force this film is. Art direction, sound design, character writing, narrative progression, small details, there's just- there's always something new to discover every time you see it. It's a perfect film. Truly. Thank you for experiencing it and allowing us to join you on your first steps Into The Spider-Verse. Can't wait for the next Queen!!

Koirby

Can't wait for the second one!

Barbietube

If you want another well made animated movie about family learning to understand each other (that is also hilarious) I strongly recommend The Mitchells vs. The Machines.

Tyler Jones

You keep saying that this is peak, but it's not. The next one is. Can't wait for your reaction.

Chas Becht

So excited for her to see the second one. It's so friggin good.

Hidaku

Oh my God, if you're looking for more stylized animated works like this, I highly recommend Nimona and Lupin the 3rd: The First. The first blends 2D and 3D like Spider-Verse and Puss in Boots, while Lupin is a perfect 3D translation of an old-school 2D anime. Both are absolutely incredible watches, and I give them my highest recommendation.

JCPrime404

So I never saw this movie or the next one. I'm not a huge spiderman fan at all. But seeing you react to this has changed my mind to now see it. Why you got that power over me I have no idea.

YukoValis

i like her fangirling about movie styles and stuff :3

MyOnisan

Well, the only option now is to watch the second movie

DomThaPotato

1:09:27 My god . . . THE BEGAL EFFECT

WillGlacier

Such a great surprise to end my night with

Sniper Delta

It 100% won't surprise me if Part 2 gets delayed again.

KatoBen

Based on the date this movie came out compared to what she just watched, it's pretty close to chronological in release dates.

KatoBen

Important to note that this interpretation is not officially confirmed, the filmmakers and comic writers have not stated that Gwen Stacy (Ghost-Spider) represent or is transgender herself.

Daniel Hyena

When I first saw this one, I also loved it. Can't wait till you see the next one cause there is (possibly) two more.

Matthew Harms

No, not yet, and probably unlikely. My assumption was Spider-Verse got greenlit by Sony execs because of MCU Spider-Man. They wanted another Spider-Man film but couldn't go the normal route due to the MCU contract. Sony still makes a ton of money from the MCU deal, but they have to share that with Disney, with Spider-Verse, it's all theirs. Don't get me wrong, I 100% expect Miles to show up in the MCU eventually when Marvel finds the right opportunity, but I doubt they'll be able to top this masterpiece.

KatoBen

Kinda hope you get to see Redline at some point, it was one of the last fully hand drawn anime movies and it's fucking sick.

Okoga

Zero-spoilers, Deadpool kind of is, which KIND OF makes the X-men movies MCU films twice removed or something like that. But I personally draw the line at counting in Deadpool. If the Hulk movie counts, then so does Deadpool.

I'm following way too many nsfw accounts to use a name here

I really hope she filmed this as an offshoot, since she did mention she has other movies she needed to record. Hoping we get another MCU film on Monday so that we're one step close to Infinity War.

KatoBen

She's watching everything chronologically, I believe.

KatoBen

While the second movie is fun, it's not as good as this one. Let alone that Part 2 still has yet to come out. "Into the Spider-verse" is perfection.

KatoBen

Ya i kmow its once a week im just hyped and didnt wanna do math haha. Deadpool and Xmen are not apart of mcu sadly. What are you most hyped for?

Miguel Luna

She's doing everything in release order, and currently it appears everything will be once a week. Not sure if she's counting this as a Marvel Movie Monday since it's not part of the MCU.

KatoBen

The level of quality that went into this film with easter eggs and the deep attention to detail, right down to the unique animation style surely to inspire future movies. While I love the MCU, and half expect the MCU to eventually include their own version of Miles, Into the Multiverse is hands down my favorite Spider-Man film. The leap of faith moment is one of my favorite moments. The moment the glass breaks as he jumps off the building shows how nervous he was, as in the last moment he subconsciously tries to hold onto the build as he forces himself off the building. It was 100% a leap of faith because he did not know if he would survive that jump. This movie is perfection.

KatoBen

Oh hey peak, didn’t see you there.

Morris and his code

I wanna know the ETA on Across the spider verse gardians 3, Infinity War and End game. Those are gonna hit different. Deadpool/Xmen are also needed

Miguel Luna

Gwen has trans colours as a underlay for a reason

AonixGhostlyQ

Still trips me out that that adorable Mecha pilot has the same VA as a tiny cyclops maid that stabbed the hell out of Adam.

Elias Cristerna

Yeah Puss in Boots animators took inspiration from Spider-Verse.

MarakamiSG

Yeah this movie kinda peak

The Legendary Husquin

but after the Endgame

TwojaStaraIFrytki .

If I remember correctly this turned out to be Stan Lee's last cameo, the movie came out after his death.

SakakiMaya

That second movie is gonna hit different for her guaranteed

GrimPitbull

Hey... I love you Alicia. 🤣 In a non creepy way that is... 👍

RedRam-Ipsen

Watch the other Tom Holland Spiderman and live action Spiderman before watching Spiderman across the spider verse

Isaiah Joiner

Alicia's spidersona incoming, I'm sure XD

Miss 512

One more point: these are canon. The second one directly mentions or shows at least two plot points from the live action MCU.

Hotaru Tomoe

When I first saw this in theaters when my sibling randomly invited me I never even heard of the movie, now it’s one of my favorites

Broccoli Ben

Into the spicy sauce!

DanielTheHamster

I'm sending you good vibes to your uterus! I pray to Mother Nature herself! To give you at least 10 babies!

Cashryn Sins

if you loved the animation in this movie, buckle up for the second one cuz hoo boy they crank that shit up to 200 😂

Chelly

does that mean in 2 months across the spider verse hahahah c:

Thinkace

Favorite movie series ever. Now time for Across the Spider-Verse!!!!

DeVaunBeats

What a dilemma, this dropped right as I was about to go to bed.

Crescent Method

is it for Marvel Mondeys or is it extra? I'm just curious because it's not technically MCU :)

DrakonFirestone

the frames animated of miles as spiderman are made to feel off at the start because he is still new/rugged, as peter caoches him yea see the smooth the frames of the scene out more making it feel better of the audience as miles gets better

AonixGhostlyQ

That's so true. But I'd rather wait years for a masterpiece than have them rush a disaster. finish off the trilogy right you know?

Sam Smith

I though it got delayed cause of the writers strike Then there's an actors strike and now this whole situation I swear if it gets canned or indefinite hiatus Imma fight

Jaffar Black Fang

Uhhh. Master Piece. I am looking forward to your reaction.

MoD+

She could’ve watched the whole trilogy if beyond the spider verse didnt get delayed twice

EDWin qaz

OMG These are my favorite movies of all time!!!

Giddo

well it’s part of a universe that’s for sure

Michelle

You haven’t seen these??? Omg

Michelle

AHHHHHHHHHH

mykanike

I strongly agree.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Not sure I know the actress called him out on it. But she really didn't make that big of a deal with it So I dunno Maybe they're handling things in private who's can say All I gotta say is dude made me cringe hard

Jaffar Black Fang

Yes you do need to rewatch the Toby McGuire Spiderman movies Also watch the two Andrew Garfield movies They are a must see before the third MCU spidderman

Jaffar Black Fang

Kinda feel it’s disrespectful to put graffiti up of such an evil man.

JP RN

Let's gooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit: 1:13:27 why the fuck is there a Clone High ad in the background??? Lmao

WillGlacier

Peter Parker was 26 when he died, keep in mind that he said he was Spiderman for 10 years. He started saving people at 16!

RylerRay

Is this part of the Mcu? I don't remember

Azel !!

It isnt needed, but i think you should try to watch the Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies before the next Avengers or right after. No spoilers.

Kyle Reed

I just bring it up because of “that scene” in the next Spiderverse.

Hotaru Tomoe

She didn’t watch venom first. Shame

IcyDUD3

Just gonna point out, while the guy played by Donald Glover was named Aaron Davis, and the character did say he had a nephew, he didn't actually speak the name "Miles". It's obviously supposed to be Miles Morales, but he never actually says the name in the Homecoming movie.

ArcaneAnomaly

The scene where Miles first suits up is still one of my favorite movie scenes all time.

Bj Howe

Just to say this but Aaron Davis is also in the MCU. In fact, u already seen him in Spider Man Homecoming played by Donald Glover. That line of him saying "I don't need these weapons in my Neighborhood. I got a Nephew". He was talking about Miles Also another fun fact, in the Ultimate Universe of the comics(Earth 1610), that Peter did ended up dying later on. Around the same time, Miles Morales was introduced and got bitten by a radioactive Spider. He seen Peter's death and took the mantle of Spider-Man Kingpin is a Spider-Man villain but he's also the archenemy of another hero called Daredevil. Hopefully u can get to his show and the rest of the Defenders Saga (Which includes characters like Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist), throughout your MCU journey Also during MCU Phase 4, please watch the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies before the 3rd MCU Spider-Man movies and before Across the Spider-Verse. Throw in the Loki TV show as well to get the full context of events that is yet to happen

terrell thaddies

lol yea. especially because SOMEONE cant stop being creepy towards their co-stars

Mr Lemon

Fun fact: Miles’ dad took his wife’s last name because his full name is Jefferson Davis and which is also the same name as the former president of the Confederate States of America seriously look it up

James Fernandez

What ever did happen with that? They gonna replace him?

James Rhed

As someone who grew up with a similar Latina mom I find the scenes with his mother so wholesome

James Fernandez

Shame his actor didn't lol

Jaffar Black Fang

At this point she might be done with the MCU before the 3rd one comes out lol

Jaffar Black Fang

I'm surprised, I thought you were gonna wait until the 3rd one came out

Sam Smith

I've been waiting for this reaction for so long

JCPrime404

so glad I stayed up

RagingAmigo 1

You mentioned Puss n Boots so I wanted to run down the inspiration pipeline really quick if anyone’s curious. PnB Last Wish art style was inspired by this movie! And this movie got its pointers on animation largely from an anime studio, Studio Orange. So if you wanna see what basically domino effected all the cool 3D animated movies we get nowadays, go watch Studio Orange’s Land of the Lustrous. It’s a 3D anime that looks AMAZING.

18C

Miles got that exaggerated swagger of a black teen.

Byron Wright

LET’S FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!

Nym

Yay!!!

V STAN

Im still mad that they didnt green lit the batman beyond movie with this art style

EDWin qaz

I want to mention that in Homecoming, Peter webs the gun buy guy to his trunk; the criminal with ice cream. That guy’s name was Aaron. He had a nephew named Miles.

Hotaru Tomoe

Marvel movies are posted on yt on Mondays

Pelg_Paladin

Not reacted to them but she's seen them

Talon Karrde

She has already seen that one growing up, amazing Spiderman she hasn't seen tho, but she's seen the Toby Movies

Talon Karrde

Ben Gross

Andhy thomas
