Sakamoto Days 1x7

This animation isn't bad enough to warrant this much of a negative reaction that im seeing online. Sure it could be Better, but the style and story of the anime makes up for it in spades. Its still a great anime. I hope she gets around to finishing the reactions to it before Season 2 comes out in July. Since it got a second season the animation budget might have gone up to.

Today, I realized I know dogshit about animation because I literally could not tell that this was badly animated at all. It still looked great to me. Couldn’t even tell the difference.

4:20 To be fair in Japanese they didn't say "It's him." More like "It's them,' or "it's this person." Japanese doesn't use a lot of gendered pronouns with referring to people. They exist, but you don't hear them a lot for some reason. They typically use gender neutral pronouns.

Technically, the no kill rule applied same way that Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza series doesn't kill people despite knifing people, head trauma, neck trauma, organ damage from broken bones in the chest area, knocking people off tall buildings and blow up Buildings :P

I love the manga, but yeah I stopped watching the anime by myself a couple episodes ago. I just watch here now lol.

what I mean as a "worse" Director Kon Chiaki explained in an interview with NATALI.MU (Japanese entertainment news website) that the style directions came from the anime's producer. The animation was meant to reflect the style of a manga panel— and manga panels don't move. In The Way of the Househusband, the simplistic animation is designed to let the deadpan comedic timing and strong voice acting take centerstage. Kousuke Oono, the manga's original creator, even praised the animation style for maintaining the manga's deadpan comedic timing. Source SCREEN RANT and NATALI.MU

To me a better anime with "worse" animation is The Way of the Househusband 2021 ‧ Drama ‧ 2 seasons

Daniel Hyena

Hm, 8 should release on the 28. Guess next weekend.

Look, if they are wearing full body concealing outfits that don't even show a face, then you don't know for sure they are actually people under there and not like, robots or something, so it doesn't count as killing them!

Seraphem

despite the sub par animation, it's still a fun series.

complaints about this anime feel so spoilt. Its good, who cares if you think it could be better. Go watch the fourth season of "Seven Deadly Sins" and realise what bad animation actually looks like. Also im specifying us watchers, didn't realise till the end that you thought it was a little badly animated Alicia.

I loved this as a manga and I'm super happy it got an anime :)

Bernhard

Yeah, it is an anime adaptation like season 2 of One Punch Man. They are not bad on their own. However, I just don't see myself recommending these adaptations over the source material to someone.

I just don't like the premise in general

Hope you can return to Vinland Saga someday, criminally underrated in my opinion, one of the best stories I’ve ever heard. I’m only hear watching Sakamoto days because I like your commentary

Broccoli Ben

When the audio desynced at the beginning, I refreshed my page and got back to where I was. Literally a second later Alicia mentioned it and I’m like “damn, couldn’t wait another second lol”

Broccoli Ben

Though some people won’t read this, thanks for typing all this out. I was one of the people who was let down with how the SD adaptation came out, but I never bothered looking into it to find out why reaction channels that cover it are doing poor, so this was a nice not-so-fun fact for me.

Yovan_Night

Ah okay, thanks.

Argon

She says she is going to binge it when 6 ep have came out and she has already watched the first two. So when ep 8 comes out.

Honestly, the low numbers in general and on youtube don't surprise me. The animation quality was a serious letdown for long-time-fans of the manga. Unfortunately, it was also apparent long in advance, which kept a bunch of them away. Then there's the messed up release decision, where they release each episode 1 week earlier on Netflix Japan than anywhere else on the planet. That's poison for reactionary content: If you watch the episodes on Netflix Japan, a decent chunk of people will avoid the reaction because they don't want to get spoiled. If you watch them anywhere else, a decent chunk of viewers will already be on the next episode and skip the reaction because it's more than a week late at that point for them. There have been much better adaptations of Weekly Shounen Jump series in the last few years, with Undead Unluck and Elusive Samurai being just two one could mention. Then there's also the insanely amazing Dandadan for Jump+. It's just sad that they dropped the ball for Sakamoto Days here, in more ways than just one. I mean, I still enjoy watching it, but the wasted potential and the inevitable loss of interest in the series we'll face is sad as someone who was really looking forward to the anime.

Fuck what God thinks! Keep recording this! God can suck it up!

Reaper Scythe

Does anyone know, when Alicia is going to continue Apothecary Dairies?

Argon

YAY SAKAMOTO DAYS!
