I love this anime, with all my heart. It's the first anime I've ever watched, and what made me want to watch more (I specifically fell down a Jun Maeda rabbit hole because I fell in love with his style of writing stories, so after Angel Beats I watched Clannad, Charlotte, Little Busters, Air, Kanon... basically all of his creations). This anime in particular holds a very special part in my soul, because before I watched this, I hadn't cried for years and didn't think it possible for a story to make me emotional. I ended up crying for 3 hours straight after finishing it (I binged it all in 2 days). Interestingly enough, I first watched it dub, and I must say that the dub for this is pretty solid, even though I usually prefer subs nowadays.

When Alicia mentioned the English speaking character, got me thinking how I love that they add a character that speaks a different language, usually English or broken English, I think that’s a great touch.

It's not any sort of important story points or anything, but it is meaningful, especially as you get to the later half of the show. No real biggie if you do skip.

So it's not like she randomly picked this series up, it was in the backlog too. Did you personally redeem any series? Because, not to answer for her, but I remember her mentioning a few times that a few series were dropped simply because people lost interest and stopped redeeming the episodes (e.g. Ranking of Kings). I think some series were also dropped because lack of views, but I don't know how she sorted that out with her patreons. If you did redeem something, your best bet is probably to ask in the patron channel on her discord (just don't DM her). If not Alicia, someone else might have an answer for you.

I honestly think the redeem system is not working at all right now but it's also difficult to change it now that people have redeem a lot of stuff, a voting system like some other channels do would have probably worked better

You don't know how much I wish other anime series did that for characters that exclusively speak English.
