I can't remember if Luffy ever mentions to Tama that he's Ace's younger brother. Ik it doesn't entirely matter tho because she looks up to Luffy regardless.

Kitatsu III is the cursed blade that Zoro found in Logue Town, the one that he gambled his arm for. Also, if you'll recall, Ace wove a giant hat for Oars Jr., which became the basis for Oar Jr.'s respect and loyalty to him. He learned to weave that hat while weaving with Tama.

All Zoro’s swords are Great Grade swords except for Sandai Kitetsu (Kitetsu III) which is just a Grade sword. The Kitetsu blades were made by Swordsmiths of Kitetsu who are considered some of the most renowned Swordsmiths both in Wano and across the world.

It clearly effected people all over the world and even 2 years later in the story people are still being effected by it. Ace's death gives One Piece an emotional weight that could not be easily replaced or replicated

The entire scene of Tama cooking the rice wasn't in the manga, as well as the ace and Tama flashback being extended. But both were really good and didn't feel like anime only additions. It makes Tama's character all the more endearing. Beyond budget the creativity and care put into Wano despite the restrictions with how much they're allowed to adapt per episode is so good to see after so long.

2025-03-02 18:46:51 +0000 UTCI get that part, but when Jinbe was speaking to Luffy and asked him, “What is it that you still have” (or smth along those lines) Luffy was able to pull himself together by thinking about his crew. Tama doesn’t really have that same support during the scene, as the whole reason her and Hitestu even stayed in that terrible part of Wano was just to wait until Ace got back. And another thing, luffy really couldn’t afford to grieve over Ace properly with how fast things were going back then. I feel like since he was able to set his mind to a new goal and reignite his determination to get stronger and see his crew again, that he was able to get over Ace’s death easier. (Not saying that Luffy wasn’t absolutely messed up over it since he was, just saying he had a better time processing it overall than Tama did). Again, with Tama, she didn’t have any other driving goal other than to see Ace again, which is why I think Luffy was more or less an asshole in that scene. My bad for yapping so much, just wanted to rant about that🙃

Sure Luffy was present at Ace's death, but with how quickly he clocked out mentally I dont consider him having a huge head start on processing. Luffy is only doing what he knows he needed when he was at that point. Now, if it was a good way of bringing it is a totally different discussion, but I dont consider it a weird choice for him

For someone as “emotionally intelligent” as he is portrayed as (for the most part) the way he told Tama about ace’s death was really fucked up. I mean, think about it, had anyone told luffy that Ace somehow died at Impel Down, he would’ve been messed up about it the same way Tama was. And even beyond that, Tama was already poisoned and starving at the time. This adding to the insensitive way luffy told her about ace just made him look like an asshole imo.
