Its one of the reasons why I dont rate solo leveling super highly although it is a very fun to read/watch and the art was really good in the manhwa. There is not a lot of depth/creativty in the story or world, its just pure dopamine of seeing overpowered fights. For reference, I much prefer something like Omniscient Reader manhwa/novel (its a way more complex and intricately crafted world).

No spoilers, just theory: I really hope that our boy Drip Woo takes that dead girl's shadow when he gets there (because we all know he is going to go). It has already been established that he can take the shadows of people, more importantly hunters. Now, he has gathered a lot of shadows on his journey and because of that his army has basically every role a party needs filled, a close combat master, a couple tanks, even a powerful mage (he himself is of course the fast and stealthy). But, one thing he is missing from his team that is a necessity for any party is a healer. Now, we have two established healers in the raid, the dead japanese girl and the living korean guy. I am almost certain that he will be picking up a healer before the end of the season, and I hope it is the one who is already dead. Theory over.

Consider it like One Punch Man. The main plot is divided in two major parts: one is the main character living their own life, in a sense isolated from the rest of the world, going by his own rules. The other part IS the rest of the world, the regular people who have normal roles in the setting. OnePunch would be boring if it was JUST Saitama having normal days and slapping a monster now and then, which is why there's the hero association, with Genos and other characters growing in power and even the subplot of politics and anti-heroes. In solo leveling the equivalent is us getting to know the hunter system and some hunters of every rank, and with Jeju as something to bring the main character into the fold with the rest of the setting. Make no mistake though. This IS a blatant power fantasy story.

Adapting a Manwa to a TV show you have to make adaptation I get it. but In the Manwa when the helicopter Landed there was a few scenes where Choi Jong-In instead of just firing fire out - he jumped out and floated in the air while burning the ground beneath him. and just looking so bad-ass. I'm soo sad they cut that scene. I remember seeing that panel and thinking. this is gonna look SICK :( but still 10/10 episode. I knew what was gonna happen to the healer and even knowing I was shocked in how well that was done.
