Invincible Episode 3x8

finale time!!

Invincible Episode 3x8

Comments

I JUST CLEANED UP THIS MESS, can we keep it clean for TEN MINUTES!

Giddo

I'd like to see Even unlock the ability to turn brains into ice-cream whenever she feels like it. No strength can match that.

xxDrain

About your comments on animation studios, I personally only think it's cringe to say "these days" when it is something that's been happening for ages. And while animation studios have always been overworked, it's definitely escalated exponentially over the course of the last two decades.

mlad96

41:16 Preach. Mark did most of the work, now make ding dong sure please thank you.

xxDrain

Jeffery dean Morgan is a amazing actor

Jaiden woods

ngl even if she didnt, he'd still blush.

Ja’Maine Lee

34:38 that’s just the plot to one punch man

James Fernandez

That’s just who Robot is, and you’ll see later what he does to Rex’s name

Ben Yokes

I actually think he did. But with what eventually happened I don’t think there was enough time for them to activate let alone do anything

Ben Yokes

Cecil keeping Conquest? Not surprised. Cecil using the dead Alternate Marks to create even stronger Reanimen? Way more unsettling IMO

Adrian_B

In comparison to human lifespans, if Nolan was a Millenial, Conquest would be of the generation that actually fought in WW2

Edward French

A little note that it kind of implies but doesn't say upright is when mark blushes at "that" scene is because eve when she remade her own body she "upgraded" her assets at the same time in the comic at least so I believe this is the nod to that.

beanz

35:32 He might not have made friends here, although he clearly had a lot of fun and several playmates. But he got a lot of pussy... the pussy in question was Invincible though, but he was pounding it.

Miklar Sihn

Yeah, as a viewer it feels like a bad decision, because from a story point of view you know that 1 - Earth wins at the end. 2 - this will probably backfire. But as someone in universe, his making the right move based on what he knows. Earth is the underdog in the war. You have to take risk to have any chance, and it's not even a big risk, realistically, if you're being responsible about it it should be fine. You have to be a viewer to guess it going wrong.

rando

I understand people simping for Conquest, but I'm just simping for Battle Beast AKA Thokk with his big... muscles. Yes, muscles.

Vahn Vega

That heart bubble scene genuinely has to be one of my favorite parts of this season 🔥

Kiromas

Keeping Conquest alive is definitely going to bite him from a story writing standpoint, but I at least understand why Cecil is doing this. He's fighting a blind war and this is the 3rd Viltrumite to attack Earth. From his perspective, what good is killing one going to do if for as far as he knows there's a hundred more Conquests lined up to do even worse?

muttboyvt

The main theme of this season seemed to be about mark learning to forgive, and that people can change, as well as learning that you don't need people to love you to help them. Maybe next season will be when Omniman returns?

Eddy

what makes you think that Cecil didn't put the high-frequency emitters in Conquest's cell? All he said is that the place is rigged to explode, he didn't elaborate. he probably has a lot of security measures against him. The thing is, I think none of that matters since Conquest will probably escape anyway. He'll probably resist the soundwaves, the explosion, the tungsten cage, everything - just because he's strong AF

Emanuel Guedes

Ok, that's more firepower than i expected but still, its alot easier to hurt them from inside than the outside and they know it very well, it just feels like making Cecil more stupid suddenly.

Noel

Lmao I had the same thought when I recognised the voice

Shank Mugen

Glenn vs Neegan part 2

Scrubthulhu

I htink it's more of a meta joke with characters getting way stronger over getting mad

Fenronin (Dorian Dubourg)

i really like how the line "getting mad won't make you stronger, that's not how it works" implies, maybe even more than the comics do, that something about adrenaline, or its existance at all, is different or absent in viltrumite biology. for them getting angry doesn't let you hit harder. but for humanity? this means that viltrumite-human hybrids like Mark are probably even stronger than normal viltrumites while in fight or flight mode

NickAsNickName

Loved this episode. Loved this fight a lot. I hope this leads Mark to actually realise that he needs to get off his high horse and compromise with Cecil since if he did so at the beginning at bare minimum compromising so that he can keep training for conquest's arrival which they KNEW was coming ages ago, then considering how well Mark (kind of) did already...I mean this fight would have gone a lot better if he actually remembered that Conquest was coming(Though he wouldn't know it was conquest or how strong he is exactly but still Mark should have been way stronger then this) and never stopped training. I Just hope next season (hoping that there is another one) Mark sees Cecil's point and that this high horse Mark is on is only going to lead to people getting killed. especially those he loves. Your not superman Mark, you can't beat everything without actually training. Your not Naruto either Mark, you can't just talk no jutsu them either.

GingerBread

When i saw conquest in the comics i imagined his voice more like john dimagio. But this works so well too

Commisar_Pickle

As a longtime Walking Dead fan, seeing characters voiced by Steven Yeun and Jeffrey Dean Morgan fighting made me feel things. Glenn finally got his revenge 🙌

MrDudePerson

Again bro, I’m not saying that it’s not in line with Cecil to keep Conquest trapped, but the way he went about it was far too stupid considering how he’s been acting for the whole series up until now. At the start of this season, Cecil implanted that sound device into mark’s head in order to keep him under control just in case he ever crashed out. This time with Conquest however, he just encased him in several tons of steel, something that Mark has already been shown to lift quite easily. With this in mind, I find it extremely hard to believe that Cecil wouldn’t put one of those sound devices into Conquest’s head as an extra layer of insurance to make sure nothing goes awry when he does eventually wake up. Also, up until now, there hasn’t really been a flaw in Cecil’s methods. With Darkwing and Sinclair, he kept both of them alive and made them useful. Without Sinclair, all of the heroes would’ve died at the start of season 3. Without Darkwing, the Immortal and whoever else was fighting the Variant Mark would’ve died as well. Maybe I’m not understanding your comment right, and I apologize if I didn’t, but I don’t see how what you said takes away from my original point that this wasn’t in line with Cecil’s character.

Yovan_Night

Alicia, I don't think you put together that Sinclair was working on making Reanimen out of the Marks that died in the Invincible War.

Joel Sasmad

It probably isn't something the original Rex would like. In-universe what Robot did here was weird and he lack the socially awareness to realize that.

Joel Sasmad

He is old for a reason is his race is all about conquering planets and the strength over others he definitely made it to his age for a reasonnn

Az256

What do you mean? Conquest would have been dead if Cecil hadn't saved his ass. Why is that Mark's fault? Also, what do you mean "shouldn't have taken any chances"? He was literally seconds from passing out? He's not exactly thinking rationally. Also, out of character? This is perfectly in character for Cecil. It's the exact same thing he did with the Reanimen and Darkwing. The only difference this time is that we as the audience know that he's bitten off more than he can chew. "Conquest is stronger than mark, and since he will eventually regenerate back to full health, he should have no trouble breaking free from his confines." You are assuming that Cecil is planning to keep him until he fully regenerates. I think that's what they'll change from the comics (you kinda need to keep this moment to point out the flaws in Cecil's methods), because Cecil only really needs his head and vocal cords to be functional.

BirthdayParty

You think Rudy is good at socializing in any way? Also, "I feel like it was one of those weird things where they'd already teased that moment in s2... awkwardly trying to write in an explanation for it" Your logic is kinda backwards? They would only have written that scene if the plan was for this moment to happen in the first place. Writers who do some weird/cryptic shit and then write backwards from that to try to have it make sense are shitty writers.

BirthdayParty

I reckon that, while I agree with you right now, all it would take is some way for her to remove the subconscious block entirely or learn to disable it at will, and she would be more powerful than any viltrumite. I'm kind of expecting that to happen as some kind of endgame powerup way down the line. Right now I doubt it'll happen because it'd be too OP. Without the block, she would be functionally immortal, able to regenerate her allies mid-combat, and capable of tearing people apart at a molecular level.

normalmighty

I feel like it was one of those weird things where they'd already teased that moment in s2 finally where future him hops out of the suit and future Eve calls him Rex, and this was them awkwardly trying to write in an explanation for it. Feels especially weird to me because Rex already felt freaked out and upset when Rudy made a clone of him to transfer into in the first place, and this feels like one more small step beyond that. Doesn't feel to me like something the original rex would actually like.

normalmighty

TBF I feel like he probably assumes the explosives are already plenty. In the show he just said the place would blow he so much as twitched, but I've seen a few comic readers say that in the comic he clarified that was because he's sitting on top of 4 nuclear warheads right now.

normalmighty

I'm more angry at Mark TBH. This is at least the 3rd time that Cecil has done this exact fucking thing and this is the 2nd time that Mark didn't finish the job and it's gonna bite him in the ass HARD. If I was in that situation, and I knew what kind of person Cecil was (A dickhead), I would have just ripped Conquest's head off right there and thrown his body into the sun. And even then, I wouldn't even let it get to that place. This was the 2nd time Mark stopped right before the killing blow and after what happened before, Mark shouldn't have taken any chances and continued to stomp Conquest out to make ABSOLUTELY sure he was dead. (Then the head ripping and sun throwing to be safe)

Brandon Creek

Mark should have just ripped his head off or stomped him out. He really needs to learn how to finish the job.

Brandon Creek

I think at best she's a glass canon against viltrumites. And that's including her big move earlier. Any viltrumite that went straight for her would kill her.

Daniel Morgan

What strikes me the most is that Cecil did think to put the sound thingy in Mark's head so that it can't be removed, why not implant the same thing, hell even explosives in Conquest's head as a precaution, it was wide open after all T-T

Noel

well in the comics rae dies after the fight with the lizard league and rex never hooked up with rae before that so yeah, still weird but not as weird as the show

DankusMemes

Right? Like I’m trying to think about it through Rae’s perspective, imagine your new boyfriend dies then someone on the team whose body is a younger version of Rex, just takes his name after he dies. THAT’S WEIRD!

DarkChaos

No. Even comic readers and other characters know that shit is weird

SMTM

To be fair to cecil what could he have burnt conquest with? He doesn't have that level of heat on hand.

Adrian

i think it makes more sense when you remember that he literally has only gone by rudy for like 6 months

C-c-c-ComboBreaker

nolan threw A meteor the size of Texas back into space and Cecil thinks that his little 500 tons is going to hold down the viltramite that is stronger then nolan

Artemis

its speculated that conquest is around 7000-8000 years old. i dont think its ever clearly stated how old he actually is, but he was there for the rise of the current viltrum empire through the culling and everything

DankusMemes

Am i the only person who thinks that rudy changing his name to rex is weird?

DarkChaos

Its not even really the lawyers it's specifically the creator of spawn that would have too allow it because he owns the rights

Artemis

I know it was from another universe, but they should have had something similar to what they used to trap that one Mark from S2 Angstrom talked to.

Riku1186

Sometimes that’s for the better besides getting rid of a certain character

Ben Yokes

That show (unfortunately) didn't really follow the original comics tho

Kino

Some people have an idea what it’s about. But I won’t say since spoilers

Ben Yokes

I only really though exactly one episode this season looked bad, and that's because everyone's face was distractingly off model and uncanny. The rest looked fine

Grei Glace

If you like Conquests voice and Invincible PLEASE watch TWD both of them have big roles in it

Ben Yokes

if the lawyers allow it

DankusMemes

is it just me or does this sound like a spawn teamup?

Cabo Boose

Definitely seeing where the animation budget went this season.

FoulOne

you are a 100% right about the future Rex from s2. That was the Robot from that time or timeline also adopting Rex's name after his death

Beelz

This man PRE-LOADED that slap to Mark's face. And that "I'm lonely speech." at the end. I didn't know it was possible to channel that "Nobody will believe you." energy in a threatening way.

Dyno

Viltrumite survivability is crazy. They can pretty much recover from anything that isn't critical damage to the brain or heart.

Jonathan Morgan

For those wondering the current plan is for the show to be 7 to 8 seasons long and Robert Kirkman one of the main writers of the comics and show said they are aiming to release a season annually. As for were we are comic wise season 3 ended on issue 65 of 144 issues total so if had to guess so if i had to guess season 4 will probably cover up to around issue 80 to 85 at most. Also the darkblood post credit scene and conquest monologuing about how he’s lonely to mark wasn’t in the comics, so it’s definitely nice to see them adding and expanding on the source material.

Charlie

The craziest thing about the Darkblood thing is that it wasn't in the comics, so literally no one knows what to expect from that T^T

BoobeamTrap

Sorry I wasn’t exactly clear in my last comment, but I meant that they should’ve changed the WAY Cecil contained him, not the fact that Cecil contained him in general. At the start of season 3, mark could already lifted what is currently trapping Conquest. Conquest is stronger than mark, and since he will eventually regenerate back to full health, he should have no trouble breaking free from his confines. The fact that Cecil chose to contain Conquest in this way is uncharacteristically stupid of him to do based off of what we’ve seen from him in the series prior to the finale. That’s the part I wanted to get changed. I hope I clarified my take more with this comment.

Yovan_Night

why would they change this? he needs to return for the story.

SirFappington

Fr bro, I’ve seen bits and pieces of the comics before in the past, but after watching the whole series up to season 3 and getting into the comics., I was surprised at how much they changed. Why couldn’t this be one of them?😭😭

Yovan_Night

It's even weirder that it's happening twice, this happened the exact same way in the comics as well. Hello?? What?? Of all the things to change, that wasn't one of them?

Ellerian

how many fights did she win? Cus I dont thinks shes even BEEN in as many fights as he's won.

SirFappington

Mark has spent 3 season getting his ass kicked. Eve won more fights than Mark in season 1. She might be weak against the stronger enemies, but she's also not using her full potential, much like Mark.

Erik Nilsson

Bro, Cecil was uncharacteristically stupid at the end of this episode, and this coming from a Cecil Approve like myself. Why would he try to keep him trapped with metal, instead of just putting one of those sound devices in his ear? Or hell, shove multiple of those things up there. Cecil is NOT this dumb, and I honestly think they made Cecil stupid in this scene just to give Conquest a chance to come back. Maybe I’m wrong, but I literally just don’t see how the Cecil we’ve seen for the whole series would do smth as dumb as this. I consider this a blatant example of character assassination.

Yovan_Night

Conquest is the guy in the flashback Nolan gives to Mark talking about Viltrum's truth in season 1. The one who tears the lady in half during that culling part.

Xenocrona

it might just be me but Eve is not that strong when it comes to combat. she talks a big game but gets dogged by anyone with strength.

SirFappington

Conquest really said "I do this shit for the love of the game"

Emi

Well from what we know, viltrumites get stronger the older they get. Also conquest is 5,000 years old

UndeadNovaKing 0

So I didn't catch it last episode, but Conquest is Jeffrey Dean Morgan and y'know... fitting after Walking Dead

Chaxinitus

Time for a bloody bath!

Vendacator

I'm early once more! Yay!

Alexander

Actual perfect timing, I just got out of math class!

Slyvarium

Thank heavens, I don't think I could have waited any longer

Chris Eckleberry

Alicia coming in clutch with this reaction. I was avoiding spoilers all day at work, and the place I usually watch Invincible hadn't uploaded the episode yet.

Calixion Arts

Stand ready for its arrival, worm. Peak has arrived.
