Fantastic 4 (2005)

MOVIE TIME

Fantastic 4 (2005)

Comments

We have like 50 people that shit to Adora while i like the yapping in every video...

ElderOne

At the start I was like there's something about Adora Bunny that stands out but then I forgot about it after 5 or 6 minutes in.

Natbe

Be a bit nicer to Alicia's friends, please.

N00B

Guess I’m not watching the Fantastic 4 reactions if this other person is going to be apart of it.

Samuel Brewer

I was profoundly disappointed to go looking and find that Adora doesn't seem to do her own reaction content. With or without alicia her take on things is a fun time.

Jason Ramey

1:33:40 - She said what now? :D

Korpen

holy booba

Jose cheese

I cannot be blamed!

JoJo

Seriously?

Ben Yokes

Holy booba

JoJo

They said the cosmic rays may have induced life on the planet, so since they are already alive it pushed them further to become super human.

Jacob

the Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes animated series took cues from this specific film. Such as Doom being on the Space Station where they got their powers, although Doom is more accurate to the comics because he didn't get his powers from the cosmic rays like in the movie plus he has diplomatic immunity. In the series the shields that were meant to protect them weren't owned by Doom but built by Reed himself but Doom sabotaged the mission (I think he was trying to kill them to take credit for the mission all for himself) leading to the four gaining their powers which Reed carries a lot of guilt for although they suspect Victor might have messed with them considering Reed never makes those kinds of mistakes.

Brianda Sandoval

1:20:47 Also. Also. This is practical effect. He is under all this makeup. Give this man a break

Blooocki :3

So not sure if anyone mentioned but the movie was successful enough that other shows had scenes or episodes based on the movie. The 2 biggest ones I can remember is Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius and the Adultswim on Cartoon Network Venture Bros.

Gotamoona

Yeah o hope she doesn’t watch much of stuff with people.

ichigo

I like the small talks they have but do pause when you talk. You missed many small talks in the movie ranging from jokes to plot. Like when sue said johnny was her brother so you were confused when he said he needed therapy on the bridge.

Azel !!

I really hope this means she'll watch the FOX Xmen series, especially deadpool

Chris Garcia Yanez

They explained at the start of the movie, when Adora was going off about Marvel Rivals, that they wanted to go to Low Earth Orbit on Victor Von Doom's already constructed space station and shuttle system in order to observe the Cosmic Storm's effects on organic life (hence the flowers). They meant to get hit by the storm, but with the flowers exposed and them safely behind the shields.

LuxLoser

Like I said, Sue being upset makes sense due to that past history. But for the rest of us who know the character Reed wasn't saying it to be rude. He was being blunt, but his tone was "matter of fact."

Brianda Sandoval

Once they got to the Sue looking through the photo album scene; Alicia and her friend started going off on a tangent about a creepy ex who kept a body pillow of her or something. That's where I looped out. I hated that they were trying to say Reed was some kind of creep for having old pictures of he and Sue together, which are clearly supposed to be from when they're in college. Reed and Sue are exes in this movie but they both still love each other. Reed's the type to get obsessed with his work to point where he can neglect those closest to him which caused their breakup in the first place. He accepted and respected Sue's decision to move on from him and at no point is he actively pursuing her since he believes she's in a relationship with Victor. Reed's not the type of person to look back at the past, if he still has those pictures it's because he forgot he had them. It's not like those photos were out in the open on full display, they were tucked away in an album inside an old drawer.

Brianda Sandoval

Me either lmao

Ben Yokes

There's a lot of fun things about the Fantastic Four movies, but I cannot stress enough, they made these movies purely to hold onto the rights. It's not because "there's too many characters" that's just cope the studios spread. The Incredibles show the potential that's always been there from the FF comics. It's just these movies were not made by people who cared. Some moments are great and straight from the comics like Johnny playing pranks on Ben. Other stuff like the cheap relationship drama between Reed and Sue is awful. The Silver Surfer is one of the top characters I'd love to see in Marvel Rivals - he'd be quite the spectacle. Also, the body motions we get from the actor in the movie are insanely talented. If only we'd gotten a script from people who respected comics.

Rhodair

While all that is factually true, I would not recommend saying that to your ex who you are currently rocky with.

Rowdeemunkee

plus he gave his entire country of Latveria free Wi-Fi with the password "RichardSucks"

0megaJ0ker

Were they hating on him? I couldn't finish the reaction

Brianda Sandoval

1:40:15 anybody else notice how every actress in the X-Ray is listed as “Lusting Model” bruh the 2000’s were something else

MrDudePerson

Yea, we don't have a single good live-action adaption of Dr. Doom. None of them are at all close to accurate to the character. Completely changes his lore, gives him powers he doesn't have, etc. Doctor Doom is kind of like Tony Stark, Dr. Strange fused together with a touch of Loki to make him the ultimate narcissist. Example: Doctor Doom doesn't have a Ph.D. He gave the title of Doctor to himself because he finds the organizations that give out Ph.D's below him.

REI

The Ioan Grufudd hate is crazy.

Michael

What about Superman?

ChaosSepher

Huh... Adora is kinda cool. Smart and funny... I should watch more adora!

Flip SkeeMalker

Yes very soon

Ben Yokes

Batman 1989 was the first big successful superhero movie

Daisy Azuras

Wait, if an ex has a body pillow of your ACTUAL body, and then that's being sold Isn't that Actually under revenge porn? Like *very* illegal?

Shatol Darmelo

there is a comic where doom is with spiderman and hes walking through walls instead of using the door spiderman asks why he doesn't just use the door and dooms response is "like a peasant? "

major charmander

you should watch deadpool

Mohamd High school

tbf, Valeria and especially Moon Girl are relatively recent additions to that list, Reed and Doom used to be first and second place for 40 years before they were dethroned by their daughter/goddaughter. Moon Girl is even more recent, only being added to the list in 2016, so like 2 years ago.... 2016 was 2 years ago, right...? ;-;

Vokiman

50:00 1. Get a pen or similar object. You can use it to poke the buttons and avoid big-thumbing the keys. 2. She could also have been trying out different lingerie so her surprise would be prepared.

N00B

Doom will get a good adaptation... eventually

ACVIFOR

definitely third/fourth After Reed... and the two canonically smartest people in marvel Moon Girl And Valeria Richards (Reed's and Susan's daughter/Doom's Goddaughter)

FlaschenJoe11

I love how comic wise, Sue is the most powerful of them... She CAN use forcefields inside someone.... Used that to knock the Hulk out by literally cutting off airsupply ^^ Also I like Johnny being still a dick...as it seems like his way to try and normalize it. Like, Johnny ain't gonna be treating Ben Differently, because he is rock now... He is still Ben to him...which means antagonizing the fuck out of him XD

FlaschenJoe11

The Best Superpower. He gets Heroes as Bodyguards when he visits the UN.... Get on that level

FlaschenJoe11

Don’t forget that the baron he overthrew was trying to genocide all of his Romani subjects and was an overall terrible guy.

Egregore

Don’t forget about his unwavering hatred of Reed Richards for getting him hideously deformed and deported from the US.

Egregore

The reason this movie and others were made was strictly to keep the movie rights from lapsing. The sequel (Rise of the Silver Surfer) was made because the original did ok. Victor Von Doom was probably the biggest disappointment in these movies because he his entire motivations as a boy is literally to RESCUE HIS MOTHERS SOUL FROM HELL. The guy is nearly as smart as Reed Richards, has a suit of armor that (Marvel) Rivals Ironman's and is as well versed in sorcery as Doctor Steven Strange. All because he loves his mom.

Gorge Montoya

People were also very disappointed in this Doom because his powers don’t resemble the comics even a little. Imagine Doctor Strange wore an Iron Man suit, and that’s a rough simplification of Doctor Doom’s powers. He has actually been Iron Man before and is currently the Sorcerer Supreme in the comics.

nervouspirate

In the comics Ben (The Thing) is said to not age once he transformed into his rock self. Reed came up with a cure then gives Ben one week out of the year where he is human. During that one week of time he ages. In this comic Ben lives for thousands of years as The Thing. During his entire life span he never gives up being a hero for the people and eventually dies.

Evan Mayes

Comics Doom doesn't have powers he learned magic and machinery to create a suit of armor with magic powers. He's also the ruler of a country so his strongest power is diplomatic immunity.

Jonathan Kennedy

I'm very sorry but the guest is making you miss vital information that I don't think you'd miss otherwise. I'll check out of this one respectfully.

Timothy Dowell

1:02:57 just saying in case you guys didn't notice. But Reed said they where meeting Debbie cause she last saw ben

UndeadNovaKing 0

Yes I'm aware, but these are not part of the MCU movie releases or show releases. They were never really considered part of the mcu until disney got all the licenses in the world to make them a part of it. The deadpool movies, fantastic 4 movies, blade movies aren't part of the selection of movies that alicia would watch for marvel Monday (Excluding Deadpool & Wolverine). You should get my point. The first mcu movie was iron man this was released 3 years before that.

Joe Shmoe

so theres actually a storyline that johnny and ben had a long standing war of pranks that they eventually decided they couldn't be bested and decided to team up pranking other heroes for a while. idr details but i think they really tried putting that in here lol

marlanes

Johnny “Human Torch” is the blood brother of Sue “Invisible Woman”. Seeing his sister naked would naturally mess him up a little.

Kap

bunny girl talks though the whole movie

SirFappington

so dr doom does not have inaate supper powers .. and by that mean like internal . he is probably the secound smartest person in marvel maybe third . he is a the soverin ruler of latvaria and thus loaded . and he is a master of the mistic arts secound only to steven strange . also hes right more than hes wrong its just to save the world he would have to concqure and folks keep stopping him

Lance Ivy

Yeah the serial killer thing is weird. Like I love learning about them becuase I'm fascinated by how someone can think like that. The people who fetishize it creep me out.

Maddie the witch

There is a sequel called Rise of the Silver Surfer, followed by a bad reboot.

Game Wizard001

Some Victor Von Doom trivia: He becomes the godfather and name giver of Sue and Reeds daughter Valeria by being the only one to help giving birth He is down bad for Storm from X-Men

Kasper Kamstrup

Dr. Doom in FF movie: Power hungry CEO of billion dollar company with metal skin and electric powers Dr. Doom in comics: Romani Mega Genius capable of unifying science and sorcery, is a candidate for Sorcerer Supreme, wears armor that defies the laws of nature and physics with MASSIVE buffs built into it, turned a poor country into a utopia after overthrowing the former baron, treats women with respect, was told by a god that he is an evil man but his methods can bring peace to the world, has ego bigger than the ocean.

NegativeArms

Sadly Ben in the comics isn't doing much better, heck there was one where he got a cure, but it would only make him normal 1 day a year and he'd only age when he was normal, making him live til the 61st century and be the uncle Ben to so many generations of Sue and Reed's family

Noman Rocks

Yes.

Ben Yokes

Idk abt that

Ben Yokes

New movie is gonna be so peak

Ben Yokes

Fantastic 4 is part of the MCU thanks to Disney and the Multiverse Era

Greyman20

2:17:30 earlier in the doom fight it had a shot where sue storm was looking at the Baxter building with the lights flickering that was Ben changing himself back

Nightmareman99

It is part of the mcu now, deadpool confirms it

Faroth

After Blade, Spider-Man, X-men. This movie had big shoes to fill

Kaltrec

Alicia should totally do the X-men and the Deadpool movies. the X-men origins wolverine movie as well as electra would be good ones to collab on as well.

Grandmasta

To be fair, when she’s by herself, it isn’t as bad, I usually skip through most of her rants, but sometimes it’s interesting, but yeah, her collabs tend to annoy because of how much talking there is

Ben Gross

After Johnny flames on for the first time; no need for hospitals best way to check if vitals are fine is to do the deed in the snow

WindWarriorPlays

That's from the extended cut. FX channel used to show years ago. It adds almost another 20-30 minutes of the movie.

Brianda Sandoval

Geez, I can't believe they got mad about the "control your emotional state better" or the "have a little self-control." Nothing was offensive or condescending about it. That's just how Reed is, logical to a fault. Sue being mad about it makes sense because she still holds resentment about their breakup but anyone on the outside knows Reed was just being logical with his wording.

Brianda Sandoval

I hate this cut of the movie. I think streaming made this cut, and for me it does change the movie.

Brianda Sandoval

Then her playing marvel rivals is spoilers?

Craig

I think Ioan Gruffudd did a great job as Reed Richards. He's supposed to be awkward and weird and corny, thats Reed to a T. The smartest guy on Earth and the most socially and emotionally awkward man alive.

MaskedRider

Which is exactly why he got even more cautious which led to Ben turning on him at the end, cause he realized he screwed up before and now he wanted to make sure he had every little detail quadruple checked before even doing one thing. One of the few times he decided to act before thinking and it ruined everyones lives.

MaskedRider

Did you find a different version of this movie? Because I don’t remember there being a planetarium scene, they removed the force field effect when Sue tried to stop Ben and Johnny from fighting, Doom didn’t have an altered voice with the mask, it was just his normal voice and when Ben sprays Doom with water he actually sprayed Reed who shifted his body to direct it to Doom. It’s just weird because most of these changes are so subtle that they don’t even change the movie that much.

Moviejunkie

All the netflix shows, the x-men movies, the Deadpool movies, the blade movies, there is so much marvel content that is not part of the MCU, I'm glad you're checking some out.

Joe Shmoe

I think it is great when you have a friend with you on some of these movies. Particularly the bad ones where you can have some fun. My only concern is friends can also be a distraction if you watch something we want to see you get invested in. I know I sound like a broken record, but I really hope you watch Deadpool 1 and 2 alone before we get to the one on the MCU list.

YukoValis

He ain't worthy of that name. Luffy would have put the smack down on Victor.

YukoValis

Just to say, "invisibility" is not exactly Sue's power.. She can make herself invisible with her powers, bending light like Reed said.

Hallreaver

Don’t ruin some of my favorite movies bro

Ben Yokes

I'm going to guess that this was already said but the reason why this film feels rushed as well as the next ones (including the reboot) is because fox had a contract with marvel that if they did not make a film then at such and such date they would loose the rights. However once they make a movie it would push back the expiration date. So if they were to make a movie let's say every 4 years then they would retain the rights basically forever. Most of the movies were made during the time when the contract would be up but then they made it re- upping the expiration date.

kip

Agreed

Ben Yokes

She has a schedule she’s doing it

Ben Yokes

I like this movie, I know it's not great. But this and Rise of the Silver Surfer are just the right amount of ham and cheese.

Silver Raven

Also there is a sequel movie btw and a remake.

Gekido

Nobody’s enjoying she hulk

Ben Yokes

It’s spoilers

Ben Yokes

Everything here is Reed Richards fault, everyone trusted him to be right, because he was always right, and he was wrong, completely ignoring Sue telling him he could be wrong about the solar winds

Verdigree

As a kid, Doom scared me so bad when he killed that shareholder, that I ran and hid behind a couch. Nowadays I'm so used to how Doom is portrayed outside this movie, that I'm like who the fuck is Victor von Dimwit over here? I used to love this movie growing up though! I even had toys like a Mr. Fantastic that would stretch, a Human Torch mask and gloves that shot plastic flames from them and yelled "Flame on!", some Thing fists along with some Hulk fists my cousin and I would fight with, and I didn't have an Invisible Woman toy, but my sister did! Lot of great memories! Also the 2015 Fantastic 4 makes this look like a masterpiece, and I'm sad to say I'm not joking...

Zackerex

I think it just wasn't for everyone, first season was good but I just couldn't be bothered to watch anything after that

Archie Curlz

I'm glad someone said it, they kept talking about how it was such a bad movie when you gotta think, it was pretty good for the time and I still have a good time watching it, and a lot of the stuff they said was bad was either really nitpicky or because they missed something cause they were talking over it, I will admit though I'm not exactly hard to please and Alicia did go to film school so I'm sure she's more picky when it comes to these things

Archie Curlz

12:25:19 One sneeze and suddenly your catch fire burning off your clothes and you end up getting arrested for indecent exposure in public. 1:31:07 And you're leaving your underwear behind where creepy fans can get ahold of them.

Trevor Appel

Can you please please please watch Daredevil (2003)? Especially now that you are watching the show!!! Plus the soundtrack will punch you right in the nostalgia kidneys!!!!

Craig

Jessica jones is not a 5/10 show

Daniellc

"Why is he breathing hard?" Idk, maybe because he weighs 400kg and just climbed up like 20 floors? XD

Eric

Since you asked Alicia, Ben does suffer a lot because of his transformation in the comics. Another sad thing is that since his body and organs are rocks, they don't decay in a normal way that a human would. So he ends up living thousands of years when everyone else is long dead.

Game Dragon

i love this movie, one of my favorite marvel movie

millecamps

Yeah, in 2005 for a marvel movie julian McMahon was a very good choice altho I would have prefer Heath Ledger (he was affordable back then)

Thaïsgrün

I was waiting for it, kind of disapointed that it didn't come.

Thaïsgrün

Rewatching this...they ain't heros are they? They are either fixing problems they caused, or letting personal fights involve random civilians. Besides Ben they are all kinda bad people

Rowdeemunkee

Reed Richards is a scientist and thinks logically. Most people who think that way have difficulty understanding emotions. The problem he had with Sue is that she has a stronger connection to her emotions and because he's more focused on logic he is unable to understand her and she is unable to understand him. With the scene where he told he to control her emotions, from his perspective, that was just a logical conclusion: Her powers are controlled by her emotions, therefore controlling her emotions will control her power. From her perspective, and for most people, telling her to control her emotions was an attack on her personality. When they were dating she suggested sharing an apartment and to her that was simple, but from a logical perspective living together is more than just living in the same building. When two people who have different lifestyles and personalities they have to make accommodations for each other. Him hesitating was just him wanting to make a plan on how to accommodate each other. Relationships like that are difficult, but possible. For a logical person all they need to do is make a logical conclusion that they need to put more effort into understanding emotions. For an emotional person it is simply using their empathy to understand that logical people aren't trying to be mean if they say something insensitive.

Thomas Gabriel White

I love these movies and have always loved Dr. Doom as a character, I love how in some instances the mask of Dr. Doom was created by the same people that make magneto's helmet.

TSP247

wait, I directly remember that scene, I watched this movie all the time growing up when it was on TV and I know that scene! I think I used to watch the directors cut, not the theatrical. You mentioned another scene with Alicia Masters doing Pottery and I know Ive seen that too.

Randomocity732

To this day, there is still not a good/accurate movie depiction of Doctor Doom yet. Doom's whole shtick is the combination of sorcery and technology. It would be like if you mixed Dr. Strange and Iron Man together. He is one of the strongest and most intelligent characters in the Marvel universe.

Game Dragon

Ohhhh that's a great idea! Maybe not Jessica Jones but she-hulk sounds perfect

Felix Rojas V.

It is not a bad movie, there is so much small and subtle details in the characterization and acting of this characters to pick up on.

Randomocity732

I had never even seen the directors cut, but ultimately that is besides the point. You're absolutely right. Amendment, I HAVE seen the directors cut, it has been so long I don't remember it clearly but I wish they had watched that one. I hadnt missed a few of those reactions from Sue towards Reed in the first half of the movie but they slipped my mind while i was watching their reaction and getting frustrated at them missing things. With Ben and Johnny i do understand that was sort of the relationship they had because Johnny never came across as hurtful or hateful towards Ben in any of their interactions. Immature is the right word, but for Johnny to treat Ben the same way as he always had after Ben's change is actually Mature in it's own right (as opposed to Debbie) And you're right about Sue and Reed. I missed a lot of those details myself it seems, entirely my bad on that front. I wish they had kept in that scene with them and not the Planetarium. It sucks that a lot of people put this film down when it has a lot of great and consistent characterization in it. Honestly, the run time is practically perfect as well as there is no wasted time, every scene has something important going on.

Randomocity732

God this was fun. Adora was great. I hope she's in more <5/10 movie/show reactions. I personally would enjoy seeing her watch the She-Hulk show with you. Or Jessica Jones.

Fei Ashtear

I also hope she watches Howard the Duck someday hahahahaha

Fei Ashtear

I did enjoy the reaction. I do think that more liberal use of pause when guests are here would not just help with following the plot, but extend the run time of the reaction. But for real, these marvel reacts are why I have stayed subbed to patreon. The more movies and shows you do, the longer you have my money. If you need an emotional support buddy for the 5/10 movies and shows, that's totally great actually. I hope your editor/mcu expert stays on point. They've done a fantastic job so far.

Fei Ashtear

I'm liking Adora a lot myself.

Felix Rojas V.

Can you imagine taking a girl to space, showing her the world, and she still rejects you? The average man would lose it, and Doom has the biggest ego in marvel.

Rowdeemunkee

I know what you mean but I really feel that Alicia would have a blast if she watch them with someone else. Those movie are fun and I believe they can be even more fun with friends.

Felix Rojas V.

The actor does give Doom vibes. It just did him dirty.

Felix Rojas V.

I thought Alicia would nickname Reed Richards as Luffy, considering the similarities of powers.

Kaz

If you're following my line of thinking, Blade should be on that list too.

Rowdeemunkee

Man, this movie really got full use of Jessica Alba huh?

Rowdeemunkee

Do you also plan on reacting to Fox's X-Men movie series?

Arian Khalil

And to top it off, I think Julian McMahon was actually a solid choice for Dr. Doom. With better writing for the character to bring the character in line with the comics, I feel like he absolutely could've pulled it off. So in addition to feeling like they just butchered the character, it also kind of feels like it wasted the actor too. I never disliked it as much as a lot of other people seemed to (didn't think it was great, but didn't think it was just completely abysmal either), but turning an iconic character like Doom into a pretty generic villain was definitely it's biggest misstep.

Ven

So for Alicia Masters, she had additional scenes that were cut which so her career as a sculptor (which is a reason she's so into Ben) and alludes to her supervillain father the Puppet Master

Thomas Malone

A perfectly serviceable superhero movie in retrospect. But I remember being *pissed* at how they did Dr. Doom. A genius who can wield sorcery (like Dr. Strange) build fantastic machines and armor (like Iron Man) and has the tactical brilliance to regularly require team-ups just for the heroes to stand their ground. Not to mention the suave class and dominance of a country that gives strong Count Dracula vibes. Literally, any other villain would have been better if they wanted a 'basic bad guy' to start things off.

Dire DM

Literally all those things you listed are the "variables" he was talking about. He didn't mean literal math, that's just his nerdy way of putting it.

Brianda Sandoval

There is 100% a sequel to this movie, Alicia! It's called the Fantastic 4 and the Silver Surfer! The Sony reboot movie is much more recent!

Muffin_of_Chaos

This movie is not really fun but seeing you two having fun really make it a pleasant experience. The second one tho, this will be brutal!

Thaïsgrün

Lol, I think Alicia forgets that it wasn't always normal for couples to just move in together. It used to be considered a huge step in the relationship that happened when you pretty much knew you were eventually getting married. Nowadays with cost of living so high and wages so low, every household almost requires multiple working adults just to get by. You go from family, to friend roommates, to eventually your dating partner. I even know pairs of couples that rent 2 bedroom places together.

Fei Ashtear

Ok, I don't know where you've heard that this movie did badly when it came out, because that's not true. It did really well, and there's another movie after that. You're probably thinking about the reboot movie, that did pretty badly because it's essentially a different and way longer origin story that leads to a disappointing ending.

KeterLordFR

@Cyber thank you for speaking the truth. And articulating the similar issues when I was watching the reaction. I am mainly here to see Alicia's film making commentary. And while like the Spider-Man 3 was a bit more casual, both were able to pay attention. I felt FF 2005, they went in tangents. And I'm paying money to see more analysis. Like when Adora stated some although surface level comic knowledge. I was happy. When talking about other stuff. I'm pretty sure others have stated their piece.

Randomguy65

I just could not finish it. Some of their conversation really went off the rails in some instances. I'm not someone who watches her and just wanted to see a reaction because I love the movie so I became a member just for this specific movie reaction. I was really disappointed and probably will never see something of hers again.

Brianda Sandoval

I am a bit confused, how they did not catch Susan Storm and Johnny Storm are siblings when they commented on Johnny saying he "needs a therapy now" after Susan went invisible with some problems while taking off her clothes and they were saying he sees her as a friend... not a friend ladies, his sister :D

DrakonFirestone

To be fair this is a really bad movie, 90% of the value seeing this is the commentary, not the movie lol

David Bodor

I think Ben's wife went out to see him and didn't decide to take off the ring until after she did see him.

David Bodor

I don't know. I adore you Alicia, and I'm glad you are enjoying films with friends. I'm not going to say anything more on that front. But I really hope you watch Deadpool 1 and 2 alone. They are amazing movies but lose a lot if you have people talking over the experience.

YukoValis

i think it's better than Fant4stic and better than many fox shows and movies like morbius and madam web and kraven etc....

Cyber

towards end of video they realize that they're a sequel to watch,

Cyber

@Carus Lumen, with all due respect, no one is saying "dont have fun with your friend", but it's a bit cringe when someone talks over a plot point, then COMPLAIN about the plot point not making sense or being missing or "rushed". IT'S OK to talk over it, and have fun in the background, but it's just not a reaction, and if you're reacting and having a chat and pausing? all good. And if you're playing a drinking game or "try not to cringe challenge" when watching this? also fine, but to TALK OVER something and not pay attention (Which is fine, it's her video) that's one thing, but to TALK OVER something ANDDDDDD complain about the thing they skipped, that's just a bit cringe.. .maybe once? fine,, but this happened at a rate of once every 10 minutes in a 2 hour movie, so it's something easily fixed with a pause/play... no one is asking her to not have fun, we're here for them both , they're fun together, we respect both, but dont just strawman argument the feedback she's getting which is VALID feedback to HELP HER grow her channel becausde we want her to SUCCEED.

Cyber

i actually just posted something similar before seeing your comment. I actually lvoed adora's comments and knowledge about her engineering craft etc, but i think a simple "pause when anyone talks, rewind 8s, run it back" would solve all these problems.

Cyber

I have mixed feelings about this reaction if i'm being honest: i LOVE alicia, and i actually love your civil engineering friend (sorry im bad with names), and i loved the extra tidbits of info in the early parts about aerospace etc, i genuinely loved that contribution. But there were times when you were both just talking over the key important plot points and then miss the plot completely and then complain about how that happened. You caught the moment when Ben decided to use the machine again, but had you been paying attention when sue is rescueing reed, you can see the baxtor building in the background shining light from the machine that ben was actively using. They did the whole "show don't tell" thing, but you were busy talking over something unrelated, i lost track if it's the murder hobos or the cock rings or the other side quests of conversations. THAT BEING SAID, this is a COMMENTARY, and i KNOW it's a commentary not a reaction and i'm always here for the alicia side quests, but when alicia is sidequesting alone, she has better control over the pause/play button, but with company, you should pause the video and rewind 8s after your guest is speaking or the likes to avoid missing key info.. Eitherway, that was just a nitpick, it was still a fun reaction overall... but ya'll also were expceting a lot from this movie, considering its super low budget and the 2000s being afraid of gambling on superhero movies... it was the times when clooney batman were finally seen as "this is absurd" and they were still trying to move out of the "superheroes are for kids" shtick, so they were still trying to figure out the formula, can't blame them for at least TRYING. instead of what fox does now with the crappy remakes and shows now.. Fantastic Foour 2005 is 100x better than morbius and madam web etc.

Cyber

Haven't seen this in year. Honestly better that I would have guessed. Its a great level of corny mixed with seriousness.

Jonathan Canfield

This is such a childhood fave, i can't wait to see your reaction to it!

Gildarts1#fan

We is not good of blade, blades peak pre mcu marvel lmao. Definitely do blade

Charlie baker

I mean silver surfer kinda fucks in that movie galactus cloud asside

Charlie baker

It was fun, but there was almost no reaction. This was just a long chat with a movie in the background.

Kapitány Zoltán

Man, I tried, I love your videos, but every time you collab, we get 20 seconds of film, and 5 minutes of you talking, usually over important dialogue, I just couldn’t watch the whole thing

Ben Gross

I think I just got psychic damage over whatever Alicia just said at 1:15:05

MarakamiSG

This had a way different vibe than Spiderman 3. I think not pausing to talk a bunch really messed it up for me.

Okoga

I liked the movie, quite ok. I used to rewatch it a lot when was a kid.

Julio 🤔

Ain't that fantastic fn

Kara

Which is weird, because that line of dialogue isn't even in the original version but I've noticed it's been added to streaming. I also hate how in the fight with Doom, one edit I don't understand is when Ben kicks the top off the hydrant then aims the water with his foot Doom is completely spayed with it despite Ben clearly not aiming at him. The reason is because when Ben did that, the water went in Reed's direction and he stretched his body to become a makeshift waterslide and he's the one who sprayed Doom with the water. It's one of my favorite Mr. Fantastic moments so I don't understand cutting Reed out of the scene because it shows all Four stopped him together. Needless to say I'm not a fan of the streaming cut.

Brianda Sandoval

Love the reaction ^^ also pretty bad movie but at least it wasnt as bad as the 2015 fan4stick

Heartless

52:50 how could ben take a picture with his hands??

NixTWD

Group reactions are always a double-edged sword, but it sounds liek you and Adora are having so muc hfun with these and its great to watch. Its like a cheery good feeling thats infectous

MeatBeater9000

I don't dislike Adora, in fact she made me laugh a good couple times this reaction, but I think what throws me off is that she tends to talk through dialogue and so they both end up missing details that they end up complaining or confused about. Nothing wrong with yapping away at all, it is a reation/commentary after all, but I feel like when Alicia does solo reactions she usually pauses when she is, where as in collab reactions (not just with Adora but I do notice it more) she tends to let the video play. Not a huge deal but pausing if dialogue is happening would be a nice simple solution to a lot of the discourse I'm seeing in the comments All in all though, a good reaction that gave me some good laughs to a movie I love, thank you both for your work.

Archie Curlz

Wow so the both of you actually went through this whole movie not knowing Johnny is Susan's little brother. Of course he'd be disgusted to see his sister naked, that was actually smart of Chris Evans to play it like that since he was playing a womanizer type guy that they didn't go the creepy route where he has the hots for his sister. Because that would just be gross.

Brianda Sandoval

Yeah from Stan Lee’s mouth he said he has no idea what cosmic rays are or do but it sounded cool so that’s why it gave them powers😂😂😂 Fkin love that man

Nightmareman99

Alicia even hovers over it at 2:18:51, but around 1:26:00ish in the movie we see Reed looking over at the tower flickering while Doom is giving his monologue, showing that Ben is reusing the machine.

CeCactus13

I disagree with two things you brought up. Johnny's the youngest member, but he's immature so to me it makes sense he'd act childish because he's the kid who hasn't grown up yet. We don't hear an explanation as to what happened to their parents so we're supposed to get the sense Sue probably had to be the main guardian and take care of Johnny. Hence why she comes off like a nagging mother to him and why they butt heads because he just wants her to be his sister and not his mom. It was probably also hard for her to discipline him being that they're siblings close in age which made it easier for him to rebel a lot more in life. The dynamic between Ben and Johnny is the same way, he's just being an annoying little brother and him and Ben prank each other all the time in the source material. It's not supposed to be looked at as hateful; it's similar to Mikey and Raph in TMNT where they get on each others nerves but they still love each other. In the extended version of the film there's a scene where Johnny was performing fire tricks right before Ben gets cured by Doom and he almost burned someone because he lost his temper and that caused people to look at him in fear; similar to how everyone looks at Ben and he clearly looked ashamed which humbled him and caused him to go back to the Baxter building. Too bad that scene wasn't included in the theatrical because it sort of completes Johnny's arc. Now we move on to the photo album, again I think they were seriously reaching with that one. The story she told about her ex is not the same as finding really old photos in an album. Those pictures are clearly when they were in college and most likely when they met for the first time. Reed is someone obsessed with science which is why they broke up in the first place, not because they stopped loving each other. Reed's the kind of person to look forward and not backwards which is why he accepted and respected Sue's decision to leave; if anything the movie paints it that Sue's the one who hasn't moved on. She's upset because Reed was obsessing about the suit instead of checking her out, he's respectful and mindful of her relationship with Victor which she roasts him for, and she's clearly happy when Reed gives her any kind of attention. It's clear she's the one who won't let what they have go. The planetarium scene is not in the original cut, instead they go stand outside to see the statue of liberty where Susan says she was the one who asked him out for the first time. Indicating she was interested enough to pursue something while Reed admits he was too intimidated to make the first move; she then confesses that there's never been anything romantic between her and Victor to his surprise. Reed then says he thought that was the kind of man she wanted who'd take charge but she says I wanted it to be you. The dialogue is actually shorter and more mature than in the Planetarium which itself was originally a deleted scene that for some reason got inserted in tv and streaming cuts of the flick. It's unfortunate because I like the original scene better and Sue and Reed come off more like adults than teenagers. I had to explain in depth about both of these characters but it still loops back to my original point where Reed's not a creep for having those pictures; his mind works differently than others and it's easier to imagine he concentrated on science and most likely stopped adding to and skimming through that album years before he and Sue probably broke up. Meaning because so much things occupy his mind, not once did he think "yeah let me take the time to throw those pictures away" It's not like he spends his time obsessively looking at them. I guarantee Reed stuffed that book in a drawer and never thought about it again.

Brianda Sandoval

There has never been a good live action adaptation of Doctor Doom. Doom's easily the greatest comic book villain of all time, between his absurd intelligence, prowess with magic, ruling his own country, motivational complexity, rivalry with just about everyone, etc. I was hoping that Marvel Studios would make a solo Do9m movie where he's the protagonist and just adapt Brubaker's "The Books of Doom" to show his proper origin.

Miss 512

So canonically Reed Richards FUCKS. Like he leaves Sue as a puddle of nerves and being unable to stand after having sex. Dude's a dork but damn does he get inventive with his powers.

Wil DeYoung

Those first 8 and a half minutes really pay off the "unedited uncensored uncut" aspect of patreon

Fei Ashtear

I didn't know that.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Man I forgot how much they butchered my boy Victor von Doom in this movie. In the comics he’s a Romani immigrant who got horribly disfigured and basically had his entire life ruined while working with Reed Richards in college. All of his “superpowers” are a combination of technology he personally developed and magic he got from hell.

Egregore

My childhood!! There is a sequel.

The Seven Deadly Sins

I just got done reading the first ten comics of F4 from the 60s and i like ben in this movie way better. Johnny is always a dbag. Sue is more empowered in this movie because it wasnt made in the 60s and reed is so incredibly obviously autistic which makes sense for the smartest man in the universe

Immeasurably Me

just finished watching love the collab, Ben Grimm is my favorite of the four. super excited that he got put in Rivals now I'm excited to see y'all reaction to the sequel

Ronix

1:25:15 Invisible woman's abilities not only have the fewest downsides but they also have by far the most potential lore wise, at least in the comics

Gabe

Better than Fant4stic at least, & I think it's almost worth it for awesome Silver Surfer scenes & the finale with Johnny.

Carus Lumen

Don’t worry, even to the most hardcore comic fan this movie would be unwatchable without your and Adora’s yapping.

Egregore

Yeah, how dare you have fun with your friend & not watch a movie as religiously as everyone else has? Don't you know you're literally the only reactor that exists on the Internet & you need to have the same thoughts & opinions as we do? Shame on you, Alicia! (No but for real, you're awesome for listening to people, though I know I'm not the only one here who watches for you & all your quirks; I've learned so much about filmmaking thanks to your comments, & Adora is super fun & helps you learn about Marvel, so please do what you like to do!)

Carus Lumen

Fun reaction but yall gotta start paying attention more if you're gonna be complaining about plot points not making sense, lol. Like Debbie being on the bridge. They set up why she would be there literally right before the incident takes place.

Johnathon

Yes to Deadpool movoes because it will be hilarious, No to No Way Home. There are so many details and character moments in No Way Home that I dont want her to miss

Randomocity732

Lmao now I hope adora is in more reaction You know shes reacted in collabs before right

Jaffar Black Fang

Stan lee has said he’s not a smart person he only picked cosmic rays or gamma radiation was cause it sounded cool which is so based lol

Kaea Edwin

Nah, Alicia is great at noticing small details, character acting, good writing moments, and important/meaningful scenes. She has a great mind for storytelling and film making. She points out a lot of great moments in this movie specifically, but she also missed more than normal. I love Adoras reactions, Alicia should pause while she is talking though that way nothing is missed and everyone gets to say their part.

Randomocity732

Cant speak for the comics but it seems they handled Ben much better in the movie

Randomocity732

The best version of Dr Doom to me is MvC3

MarakamiSG

Honestly this was so much fun, reaction, podcast. Thanks Alicia for bringing Adora

HKelnix

I hope for the marvel mondays it stays as just Alicia reacting on her own. I just dont enjoy having Adora here for the reacts. I prefer it being just Alicia. Im sure Adora is nice but I always enjoy how in the details Alicia can get and with Adora here she doesn't do that nearly as much

stijn Arts

Bonus: 2:34:10 Marvel wishes they had that profit now

Randomocity732

I hope not, I just dont enjoy having her here for the reacts. I prefer it being just Alicia. Im sure Adora is nice but I always enjoy how in the details Alicia can get and with Adora here she doesn't do that

stijn Arts

for the "re-thinging" there is also a cut where you see Reed still frozen in the chair looking over and seeing the Baxter Building roofline and the lights going all bright and glowy, giving the "machine in operation" hint. it is just a quick reaction shot amidst the action, so easy to miss.

Seth Brower

END: I really enjoyed this reaction, I didn't say anything here out of malice or hatred. Bit of frustration but that was fun in it's own right. I enjoyed tonight because of you two, Thank you Alicia and Adora!

Randomocity732

2:30:27The Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, direct sequel, it came. 2:33:39 Hooray!

Randomocity732

2:29:34 It's Adrenaline, and Ben does call him a Hot Head.

Randomocity732

My favorite thing about this movie is that it focuses on the characters, there is no world ending threat. it's these 5 people the whole way through, just with super powers.

Randomocity732

definitely watch silver surfer, i dont think anyone would be too upset if you didnt watch fant4stic though

KuroOberon

2:21:35 Adora, you are absolutely right, Reed is a fucking dumbass here. wtf

Randomocity732

2:19:27 Not saying it's my favorite movie, but my god is it better than a lot of recent Marvel slop by miles. there are setups, payoffs and characterizations! Remember those? also, the stupid parts are charming because you can tell what the intentions are even if they aren't very smartly put together.

Randomocity732

It was something I noticed in Spiderman 3 and it was here as well in the beginning

Randomocity732

2:17:20 Adora, Ben regretted his decision after being tricked. They showed a scene of Reed looking at his tower with the lights of the machine flashing again. He chose to turn himself back in order to save his friends. 2:18:55 I make a retraction, they caught it themselves.

Randomocity732

2:16:06 Clearly

Randomocity732

Dr Doom in the comics was not only a genius, he was also a very skilled sorcerer.

Sam Swift

2:13:20 The first half was dog shit because you missed half of it

Randomocity732

Hey folks! The first half we are just very excitable and yapping a lot and lock in more as it goes on. I’m taking note of your feedback and will apply it to my next reaction I do with Adora. Thank you for your support and I hope you have fun watching!

aliciaxlife

2:09:25 Reed is still weak from using the device earlier, which is why he didn't have the strength or control to stop himself from falling.

Randomocity732

Just got there. They didn't listen then. Sue was staying there to be close to her brother, not "be at her brothers place"

SquaredSpekz

Well, that's based and true xd

wahungus

THERE'S A SEQUEL TO THIS, DON'T WATCH THE 2015 ONE.

SquaredSpekz

She had mentioned a remake, is she gonna cover the silver surfer?

Salamandra Wolf

also came up when they were talking about her staying at Reeds place to "be close to her brother"

Seth Brower

Quack

Ghost

1:52:56 They just said they went to the Planetarium as their first date, when they were up in space Sue mentions it when looking down at the earth "It beats the Planetarium, doesn't it?".

Randomocity732

Um, Johnny would NOT like his OWN SISTER stripping down naked to go invisisble. I think you missed that they're siblings. Sue Storm and Johnny Storm.

SquaredSpekz

Meh, I like it. They kinda have a pseudo-podcast vibe plus the movie itself isn’t anything special to begin with.

Egregore

Zac Efron was amazing in the iron Claw

Jose Juaquin

1:47:10 I totally forgot her in this movie, she is amazing! (Fuck Debbie)

Randomocity732

I had to pause just to comment this but I died because when Victor said "Were all in this together" I literally instinctually started singing the song just for Alicia to do the same 😂 Glad to see we are the same type of person 🤣

Joshua Ebel

We don't talk about the Cloudlactus movie

XanderDPanda

1:37:26 Adora missed a shocking scene

Randomocity732

did you like the spiderman 3 reaction

Memento Forever

littlepenguin

1:14:50 They were never officially together, Reed has been and is (As shown through his characterization) more focused on the science than the romance aspect. Susan got with Doom because he showed a romantic interest for Susan, Reed did not. Those pictures, to him, are more of pictures of their friendship. 1:25:36 Amendment, I was wrong, leaving this here as proof. Keeping the pictures is cringe, I understand the sentiment he might have towards them, but no. That's my bad.

Randomocity732

Has she not been informed about the sequel of this movie with the same actors or has she maybe just forgotten about it xd ? (commented on timestamp 1:10:09, dunno if they're gonna address this later)

wahungus

Love the reactions!

NoPointToTry

yeah, for a "compare to other characters" in the MCU he is if you combined Tony Stark & Steven Strange for powerset. Building robots & power armor, and mastering magic.

Seth Brower

Sounds like many reactions I've seen honestly its nothing new with alicia's collabs so I don't see the problem

Jaffar Black Fang

Don't forget Ben Affleck Daredevil lol

Jaffar Black Fang

1:05:35 Alicia is not only right, Johnny is still treating Ben the same way DESPITE the change. Hes being just as dickish as he had been before, not treating him any different.

Randomocity732

Not sure if you've seen it or not but you should watch record of ragnarok the anime on Netflix

Demonsabath67

1:00:45 I don't know what you mean, this looks just as good as modern Marvel from the last 5 years. Im serious, some effects in this movie look BETTER than the last few Marvel movies

Randomocity732

This part

Uncle Urdnot

remember as a rock man everything is bigger, Everything. and he's always hard

Ignis Flame

50:27 that's a nightgown

Randomocity732

This reaction is someone who can engage with schlock emotionally and someone who cannot stop commenting tropes

Andrew

Alicia saying ew to Mr. Fantastic stretching like that....after One Piece....and the Live Action OP?

Randomocity732

God I dont think this is much of a "reaction". Literally just talking over the movie about random topics and then getting confused about things that been explained early on if they would just pay attention

Sean Cruz

Interesting topic but I just wanna ask how you managed to watch 2 hour 36 minute reaction in 45 minutes?

Karatsuki

Oh crap I haven't seen this since I was- since... oh god im old. But yay nostalgia! Imma go grab a cake and start the show.

Sam Smith

I don't say this to be mean to Adora, she seems like a great person and you both have good chemistry with each other and are both hilarious. But for movie reactions I don't think she is a good fit for Alicia's style of reactions. They shit on the writing when they've missed characterization and setups for stuff because they were talking about Marvel Rivals and Zero-G kissing scenes. The Spiderman 3 collab was great because the movie was fun but shit. Fantastic 4 has good writing in it (Not great or amazing) but good writing. it just sucks they miss some of it.

Randomocity732

Ben from the original comics is so terrible. All he does is be irrational and flip out bro is way too unstable to be good.

Immeasurably Me

I hope adora joins in the Deadpool 3 movie and Spiderman No way Home movie

Jaffar Black Fang

Rat and bunny duo My favorite team

Jaffar Black Fang

AHHHHHH I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!!!!! The First Family are my all-time favorite superheroes! So excited to see Alicia's reaction to this!

Matthew Wilmott

Small note that the flower was there because they were putting it outside thats what ben was doing when he got hit. Putting it in zero gravity that you laughed at when you did not understand lol

Immeasurably Me

IM SORRY?

Limeanade

Their missing a lot of really good characterization with Ben in the beginning

Randomocity732

Just keep in mind that this depiction of Doctor Doom is vastly different than how he’s usually portrayed. In all other media he’s the ruler of his home country of Latveria, he has no actual superpowers, but is both the most intelligent person in the Marvel universe as well as its most powerful sorcerer. In the comics, he is also the current Sorcerer Supreme and is now emperor of earth.

David Bland

NOOOO I WAS JUST WATCHING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME EARLIER THIS WEEK 😭 By the way I just want to make a mention of the 1994 Fantastic Four that Marvel tried their best to make us forget that they made that is the TRUE starting point. It actually gave us the best Victor Von Doom VISUALLY imo (as well as the ugliest version of The Thing) and I believe it was supposed to be a start to a show that got wiped away. It's not terrible, it's just not memorable either, though I think they casted well. They got the idea across well enough in that movie, but the 2005 version gives us a very mid-2000s look on their personalities. The next one my friends are making me watch us the 2015 movie...

Noah T

Love these collabs!!

Tutty_o7

Oh yeah forgot about those

Ryan valasquez

Or the punisher ones from 2000

Kyle Randall

We’re good off blade

Ben Yokes

I'm gonna have a fantastic time.

MarakamiSG

Hope so (would be interesting)

Ryan valasquez

ARMED AND DANGEROUS

Sean Cruz

A very welcome suprise, got me hyped for whatever might be next for some other marvel stuff, X-Men, Blade, Deadpool (or some really out there one's like ghost rider, Howard the duck, Elektra, og daredevil movie, not really good movies but if your in the mood for some "fun" garbage I'd recommend em)

Ryan valasquez

So is she gonna cover blade, daredevil and the xmen series?

Kyle Randall

AGAIN!

Dead Sun

...say that again

Sean Cruz

*looks at my watch* would you look at that it's Clobberin Time

Ronix

This reaction it’s… fantastic

Dead Sun

Well this is an interesting change of pace, but I'm all for it!

Brandon J.M.L Burrows

Ball ball ball

JustJamel

Uh oh

Scarecrow443

thats not the marvel i was waiting for xD
