Exactly. In the episode that introduced the elf looking demon woman in the tower(the one before he sees who’s inside the armor), he knows someone or something is taking out his shadow squads, but he clearly can’t directly “See” what’s happening. He only knows the shadows need to be respawned/resummoned by him after something took them out, and only guesses where they’re attacking next based on the order they were attacked so far. Unless his shadow troops assigned were also taken out, he would only know what’s happening from the live feed(which is 10 minutes delayed before broadcast).

He was observing the whole time through his shadow knights in their shadows, if he was just watching the livestream he wouldn't have been able to block all the ants at the end. And that's a looooooot of reading between the lines (or just a giant paragraph of spoilers)...the only motivation they've shown for Jinwoo not going is that he wants to be with his mom.

I mean the whole point of him not going in the first place was to see if they could handle it WITHOUT HIM. If you wish he went in at the first sign of danger to them you'd just be letting jinwoo do literally everything. sure, you could argue that jinwoo can in fact, do everything, but thats not the point here. He wanted to see if they could handle themselves. Death is a normal part of hunters lives. He could've saved them, but then again if he knew that they would need saving he wouldve just gone with them in the first place. After the "strongest one" Goto dies, jinwoo realizes they wont win without him, and exchanges. I see nothing wrong here. He wants the world to not need him. Its hope, not incompetence. But obviously, he's let down and realizes the burden is all on his shoulders, whether he likes it or not, and that its all up to him.

No shot he couldn't tell what was going on through his shadow knights...he should've popped shadow exchange way earlier than he did :/ although kinda funny how he "MC appears at the right moment" to save Cha from a simple powerful human kick but not when she's about to get exploded xD

They won’t show, they didn’t show when Goto was sparring against Jinwoo and felt despair with the overwhelming power of Jinwoo, because it’s "humiliating" for Japan and Korea and Japan have a bad relationship, so to avoid even more problem they won’t add that scene, I’m 99% sure

I've read both the light novel and the manhwa as mentioned in some of my comments and my comments are usually pointed towards story points that were either cut or changed around when they didn't need to be, I've said nothing about the quality of the animation, just stating grievances on certain things, and you're not sorry or you wouldn't have commented in the first place. The plans of the Japanese were 100% changed because they didn't want to make japan super evil like they were in the LN. Also there are two sets of the anime apparently with the japanese aired one changing everything to japan so it probably made things easier on that front since they apparently don't even bring up Korea in that version.

In the LN you get the point of view of the black ant and he specifically has an ability to let him grow stronger eating things and adapt from them powers/strengths so he can evolve himself. The other ants had to be hatched as the latest iteration as the queen adapted her children. He grew in strength consuming his siblings. After eating the heads of enough hunters he gained the ability to speak their language. In the LN his speech was a lot more copying their last words before he figured out how to make his own words.

the moment in the manhwa that we know jinwoo shows up is when the knights in the shadows sink their swords into the oncoming ants attacking the South Korean S ranks and then at the end jinwoo says exchange, the knights using their shields was off because those ants wouldnt be held back by those shadows since they were clocked in at around b rank.

Maybe because it’s not explained how far the black ant’s perception goes, but yeah knowing that the red ant that left the Jeju Island, flew over 120km and still didn’t make to the main land, we should take it as Jinwoo is farther than 120km, if we think carefully there is no way the black ant can sense Jinwoo that far

the anime really turned it from a interesting story to a dragonball "aura"-fest where its just fighting and fighting and fighting followed by fighting. Waiting for a future arc to see how they handle it, but there are a lot more relationship building and interesting ideas in the future arcs. But yeah this feels like demon slayer 2.0, a decent story that has been done before with top tier animation

Was actually getting the memories the queen had before her death by eating her brain. That way it new who was the one who killed the queen and went for her first. Also how he gained the knowledge on how to talk after eating his first human head. Before that it was just decapitations.

I mean, I kind of get it. As "literature" it is third-rate. It's paint-by-the-numbers with next to no originality. That said, it does it damn near perfectly. It may be paint-by-the-numbers, but it's Monet doing it. Yes, every plot beat is 100% predictable, but it is doing the platonic ideal of that plot beat. (Although I do think they laid it on a little thick setting up the healer's death flags this episode!)

I think you are right about him getting stronger by eating other lifefroms, which mirrors Jinwoo's unique ability to get stronger. We've seen the ants breed newer, stronger ants before, but I'm pretty sure this is the first monster we've seen that can itself get stronger. Which in my opinion is the reason homie thought this ant was similar to Jonwoo and why the song that played when Jinwoo wiped those 'evil' hunters in season one played when this ant was wiping the 'good' party. I'm pretty sure this episode is suggesting that this is the ant king. He keeps asking about the enemy king and is the peak of ant evolution. And Jinwoo is the hunter king and peak of hunter evolution.

Because in the anime Korea was the one that discovered the fast evolution instead of it being Japan. It's a weird change for basically no reason, same with them toning down how vitriolic the Japanese hunters were towards the Koreans.

One thing I noticed, I think the ants evolve by eating their prey, if thats it then that would explain why the black ant first move was eating the queen, that's so he became the next queen. Also I might misinterpreted things but I think he gained the ability to talk only after eating the healer, I just hope he don't gain his healing powers too

I find it really compelling that they used the music from when jinwoo took out the hunters that tried to kill him, and used it for the ant killing the s ranks. Its almost like the black ant is a parallel for jinwoo especially with the evolution theme of the ants, (normal, white, bipedal and now black and talking) So excited for the next episode

For me, my Solo Leveling weekly update isn't complete until I watch immediately when it drops, then I catch the reaction from G.O.T. Games, and then finally the trifecta is complete with your reaction. That happy dance of imminent slaughter was the perfect capstone for everything.
