2025-03-21 04:11:22 +0000 UTCIve been reading old darevil comics and melvin is one of my favorite characters. I loved that hes a villain that matt Murdoch gets to stop. Gladiator was someone that needed help and for someone to listen, fighting him actually fed into his mental issues. Every time melvin falls back into his gladiator persona its because the systems or people around him have failed him, not because hes bad.

2025-03-21 03:20:31 +0000 UTCHonestly, I can see why people would have an issue with the way that Wesley did this. Honestly after giving it some thought, it does make sense. Wesley believes himself superior to those he sees as lesser, while worshipping Fisk. The fact that Vanessa is in a coma, which has upset Fisk, only to find out someone went to see his mother, it made Wesley lash out. "Why not simply kill her, did he really think she was going to accept that?" Yes, he threatened to hurt everyone else around her, and saw himself as untouchable by the likes of her. Even if she had the gun, he probably figured she wouldn't have the guts to pull the trigger.

Take the cannoli.” Also, in the comics Melvin was a Daredevil Villain called Gladiator who aside from being a simple brute, also had circular saw blades mounted on his wrists, which the show references during his fight with Matt.

2025-03-20 10:20:17 +0000 UTCPeople complain about the Karen and Wesley scene but I love how before he offers her the job, they constantly show the gun in view whenever the camera switches to Karen. Not only does it show the looming threat of being held at gun point, it shows the flip side where the gun is just barely on camera where she can just barely save herself. After the Fisk scene, those camera angles stop so you stop thinking about it until she finally grabs it. I’m sure someone else can word what I’m trying to say better than me but I just really like that little glimmer of hope that’s portrayed.
