It is, the kanji for Dinosaur has Dragon in it "Kyo-Ryu". And all Devil Fruits either have an onomatopoeia or a single kanji describing the fruits ability as their name. So if Oda didn't want to break his own naming convention for dinosaurs, he kinda has to call them Dragon-Dragon Fruits.

Yeah for some reason most of Kaidos actual Zoan-type users have Dragon-Dragon fruits, why Oda chose to label dinosaur fruits as dragon idk but i assume its to do with the japanese naming, its even funnier when you realize Kaidos fruits isn't Dragon-Dragon but rather Fish-Fish: Mythical Type, model Azure Dragon. But yea, they're all Ancient Types, meaning extinct animals, Mammoths, Dinosaurs, ect

They more or less are, the Japanese word for dinosaur is "kyoryu" which means fearful dragon. Devil fruit names are always two syllables, so Oda just shortened them to ryu ryu no mi.

Alicia, for future reference, "Ancient Zoan" types equate to Prehistoric creatures. Drake has the Dragon Dragon fruit: Ancient Model Allosaurus. Page One has Spinosaurus, King has Pteranodon, Jack has the Mammoth, etc etc.
