Up until this point, the Straw Hats hadn't all been together within sight of each other since they disembarked at the start of Dressrosa. That was the last time Zoro and Sanji had seen each other. Of course there was going to be a moment of them noticing each other.

Reason why Luffy DO NOT give a shi about backstories, unless its information he really need to know. ( and even then rather just punch his problems away lol )
