There is a very VERY good reason Obi-Wan doesn't hype up Anakin to his face. He's literally the most arrogant person in the fucking galaxy. If Obi-Wan hyped him up to his face, he'd get so big a head he'd get himself killed. đ¤Ł
Obi-Wan, despite what you may think, actually does what I think is the right amount of "parenting" for Anakin. There's just a few decisions he makes that if he didn't make would probably have kept Anakin in the light.

Also I like the original clone wars animation leagues better.

So itâs important that both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones have already happened, so whatâs weighing on Anakin at this time isnât just his childhood, itâs also how he already killed every person in that village, which he canât ever talk about because it would end his career and PadmĂŠâs if it ever came out she didnât report it and covered it up

Like, you can see several ways rhe Jedi are terribly suited to this role of military state power they've been given, like what Obi-Wan does seems a reasonable trick to him, but false surrenders are what lead to increased brutality and people no longer honoring surrenders

I agree that they are too harsh on Obi-Wan, but they are totally correct in noticing how his handling of Anakin leads to what will eventually happen.
Also, if youve seen all that the prequal era has to offer and dont arrive at the conclusion that the Jedi's teachings and their blindness to how dogmatic they have become, i dont know what to tell you honestly. Both Obi-Wan and Yoda may be incredibly wise men, but saying they are some of the Jedi's greatest teachers says a lot when both of them lost their respective pupil to the dark side.
I always saw Qui-Gon as the ideal of what the jedi shouldve been, he was one of the last important jedi figures that questioned the ways of the order and that will for reform died with him.

omg theres so much "um, actually" in these comments lol.
Anyway listen, I like Anakin as much as the next person, he's my favorite character, but yall are so Anakin pilled its funny lol. You jump in to defend him everytime he gets a little flak, when what the characters say about him isn't really wrong, he doesn't follow orders and is reckless, always has been, and when you're a general fighting in a war, thats not exactly the traits you want to see. He just gets lucky that it works out most times, and surely there have been times it doesn't work out too, I think the others are valid in their opinions of him.
As for Ahsoka, I really like her, yea she's a little annoying and naggy right now, but she is a kid that just entered a war and has no experience, her growth is amazing to watch.
For Obiwan he sees Anakin as a brother, and personally I can see that in their interactions, you talk about how he needs to do better and praise Anakin without being sassy, which he has (admittedly not as much as with sass), but its pretty sibling coded, similar to me my siblings. My boy's trying his best.

Anakin wanting to save lives and go on adventures and have a family. A+
Being a Jedi master. C.
Idk maybe I'm biased cuz I like obi-wan more than anakin but hearing Anakin is better at being a teacher than obi wan I feel like isn't that great. He has a different style. Anakin knows how to think outside the box, be strategic and all. It shows the qualities that are shown as Vader that makes him a great general.
But remember obi wan is trying to teach Anakin how to be a Jedi master. Not just a powerful Force user. "Adventure.. hah! Excitement..Hah! A jedi crave not these things" -Yoda (who is best teacher of all in my opinion) Jedi can't be attached. Kinda like Buddhist is there way of life. No attachment but not cold and calculated but acceptance and understanding and wisdom. Obi wan from when he was with Qui gong was a rule follower and almost just like ahsoka here but less sass. He respected Qui gon even though he sorta went outside the protocols himself. But qu gon knew obi wan would go far and be one of the greatest jedis still. And obi wan isn't perfect too btw cuz by end of three it shows he failed as a jedi and got too attached to Anakin. So idk maybe I'm just cut deep when my favorite character is getting a bit of backlash yet problem child/golden boy gets praise for the same thing that turned him đ
But hey I'm glad we are on this adventure and I seen most but not all of these cline wars so I'm excited to see where we go from here till we get to the end

Something that's not stated, Anikan has graduated beyond a Padawan at this point. He became a Jedi Knight at the end of Attack of the Clones. Him and Obi Wan are just partnered up often, and still mentors him.
The actual requirements for being a master are kinda vague, but Padawans usually need to be reccomened by their master to attempt the trials to be a Knight.
Old lore anyway, i dunno what Disney has been up to in that era.

There are times where I have wondered if Mace Windu wouldn´t have been a good mentor for him, and Anakin a good Padawan for him.

The thing is...she's complaining about Obi Wan not nurturing Anakin, except he did, constantly. The problem is, she keeps seeing times when Anakin went completely off the rails.
And she keeps talking about Anakin's emotions, but Anakin's problem isn't that he's emotional, it's that he's emotionally unhealthy. He has a stubborn refusal to accept that things can...not be. People can die, he can lose, etc. And because he can't accept that, he'll burn everything down. THAT was always his problem.

2025-04-16 00:34:02 +0000 UTC
16:45 there is a misunderstanding of Alicia in the terms: jedi ranks go from younglings (kids) to padawans (apprentices), then they get Knighted (like anakin is a jedi knight) to the jedi Master, which is the highest rank and then the council that is purely made of jedi masters but not necesarily all the jedis with the rank of master in the order.
Now, all jedi knights can get a padawan as an apprentice to help them growth as jedis (both, master and apprentice)
So anakin is a jedi knight and obiwan a jedi master, but they made anakin a master of a padawan, not to confuse with getting the rank of master... they should have choosen another term for jedi masters since is confusing, but just look at it this way, is not that anakin get the master rank, is that it become a private teacher/tutor

If I remember right (It has been quite some time since I read it), a point the Novelization of Revenge of the Sith makes (It is great, if a bit non-canon now) about Anakin, is that he is a military man. Like, the troops and public adore him because he is a cool, suave, fly-boy.
But he isn´t a Military Man. He is a Jedi, and he doesn´t want to abandon that. Even when it is clear that he just doesn´t thrive in the Order. Because he is a Warrior Hero in an Order of Peacekeeping Monks (Who are also currently going through A lot of issues).
So we have a situation where he sorta lives this double life where he is a great celebrated War Hero by the public and politicians as the Face of the Republic. While the Jedi are always concerned about his recklessness, his ego and his attachments. So he ends up feel entitled to glories and rewards among the Jedi, that he has not earned by their standards yet. Because their standards are so separate from those of the World he Thrives in and that comes natural to him.
Which I think just gnaws at him even more, because deep down he knows it. He knows he isn´t a "good" Jedi. That he is impulsive. That he has deep attachment issues. That he carries a deep, unending rage inside of him. And that is warring with the Glory and the Acknowledgement he gets from everyone else who wants the Jedi to be warriors and heroes and to lead the armies of the Republic in awesome large scale battles.
I believe Padme herself suggests it in the Third Film, that he just leaves the Order. Which I think would be the best choice by far. Because he would thrive outside of it. He is a War Hero, who could have easily gotten a glorious career of leading the Republics Military, or lead an organization sending aid to remote regions or some other such job that involved a lot of derring-do, brotherhood and fawning civillians.
And it isn´t even like he would never be able to see his friends among the Jedi again. Like, Count Dooku left and he was so widely respected among the Jedi that they outright dismissed the mere idea that he might be acting against the Republic. So even if he left odds are he could still see Obi Wan pretty often.
(All of this Analysis is based on the films and the Novelization of Revenge of the Sith. Please be sure not to throw in spoilers for the Series if you reply to it)

So Anakin was granted the rank of Jedi Knight but not Master, Masters sit on the Counsel of the Jedi but you dont have to have the rank of Jedi Master to teach a Padawon you just have to be granted the Knight rank.
The Ranks are as follow Youngling, Padawan, Knight, and Master. A Knight can train a Padawon and then when their Padawon has graduated to the rank of Knight then that Padawon's master is granted the title of Jedi Master.

this will take a while, not every episode is peak but still we can then finally get to the other series like Andor and especially Mandalorian since most of the BASIC mandalore lore is getting laid out in clone wars and then followed up in the disney+ MANDALORIAN itll be so fucking hype cant wait
