2025-04-20 05:38:14 +0000 UTCI’m gonna get hate for this. Just been to HK. It’s dying economically. But nothing riot-wise like you were saying is still happening on that scale. Now the controversial stuff: 1. HK was leased to the British for 99 years. It’s scheduled to gradually reintegrate back into China as the British lost control of all the colonies. So this was always going to happen. However, china would like to speed that process up. And a couple foreign entities would like to profit. Hence all the chaos. 2. Blizzard was first boycotted by individual consumers in china for their inaction in regards to those players and commentators. After a long time, they finally caved. So it’s not as if they are so in sync with the Chinese gov, that they immediately banned those people. Yet even though they caved, because it wasn’t fast enough, many Chinese people still consider this company anti-china. Which means, if you a westerner is Anti-Blizzard, you are actually on the same side as those Chinese players who called for the ban in the first place lol
