Star Wars Clone Wars Ep 3

Comments

I'd probably try to follow Qui-Gon Jins "grey Jedi" path. Whether I'd succeed.... weeeell

Bernhard

re watching this vod but the funniest part is. no one was spoiling. people were being dramatic and premptivley corrected people to feel smart lmao. i feel like if getting spoiled was that much of a sin chat would have been locked already like

Gavin Thomas

clones take 10 years to grow not 2 weeks

Noah Benden

Also, as a Sith, Revan formed the doctrine that would go on to become the Rule of Two that led (over 1000s of years) to Palpatine’s eventual rise to power. He’s one of the most influential characters in the lore’s history, for both the Jedi and the Sith

Justin Hardin

As far as characters that found balance, Revan is probably the most interesting case. He mastered both the light and the dark sides of the Force, went from Jedi War Hero/General to Sith, to regular dude, back to Jedi again, then was black sheeped for “Radical Heretical Beliefs” such as being married and having a family, how to properly handle strong emotions and attachments, etc.

Justin Hardin

Like, you can REALLY feel the hypocrisy coming off this Jedi, she really thinks she’s a person of integrity and morals for giving the people she’s allowed to be created and brainwashed with no autonomy a second chance to prove they were brainwashed good enough to be useful

Verdigree

I mean the individual, clone 99, and the Clone Force 99. (you'll meet them later on, they're Awesome!)

Chris White

A clone of a person is pretty much always also a person guys... the clone troopers having actual personalities of their own is not in any way unusual, save in the sense that there probably wouldn't be quite this much variety given the near identical upbringing. Let me put it this way, by default the only difference between your clone and your identical twin sibling is the latter is usually born at the same time as you.

Jason Ramey

They’re basically the Star Wars equivalent of the United States Marine Corps.

Chris White

not trying to spoil, but 99 will be featured Later down the line. And on a Personal note, I Love those guys!

Chris White

love the new rat model

Gildarts1#fan

gotta remind myself this is just episode 3 and Alicia hasn't had the time to get emotionally invested in the clones yet....or maybe i've read the Karen Traviss books too much

Daniel Siegfried

This^

Jonathan Kennedy

Well they haven't learned that Imperial Storm Troopers aren't Clones, it's easy for one to assume they are if one's only seen the movies, I know it's what I assumed as a kid.

Jonathan Kennedy

They totally forgot Storm Troopers aren't clones.

The Lazy Gamer

There are plenty of force users who aren't part of the Jedi or the Sith but almost all of them fall solidly on light or dark side. The Witches of Dathomir are a little unique in that they mix a lot of light and dark (from the spectrum of Force Healing to fucking raising the dead as zombies) but I'd say they are way more darkside in general.

Patrick Waldeck

George Lucas famously loathed the concept of grey jedi. To him it's a pure duality by design, there is not balanced center. Dark side will always lead to a fall.

Jobbe Smit

Oh and 99 wasn’t made to be a cleaning clone. The clone process is prone to mutation and deformation especially seeing that the base dna they are cloned from is decaying. So sometimes clones come out deformed or even with favorable mutations. 99 was a deformed clone so they just stuck Him as a cleaning clone. But ones with favorable mutations are sometimes made into unique units. One like the Bad Batch which you’ll meet near the end of the series. A Batch of clones all with an enhanced trait, they are basically used as a black ops suicide squad

Nightmareman99

Thank you, so much for bringing up Lana Beniko she's absolutely amazing, and also thank you for putting into words what I couldn't I personally say the Sith are good cause I prefer their code which talks about how our emotions make us strong and help push us forward and like everything it can very much be used in a negative context like it usually is but it can also be used for good personally I think the character that best represents the Sith Code is Leia Organa.

Nym

Thank you very much for this comment, the concept of Grey Jedi are fucking stupid

Nym

Reminder: the Jedi council never made the public or army aware of the existence of the Sith or their interference in the war.

Egregore

lol Master Chief, both in Halo and irl, is just a rank in the Navy

Sam Brown

Clones take ten years to mature and train, not weeks

Ian Keeney

For reference... try to ignore all the people who are mentioning the "Grey Jedi", it is mostly just a power fantasy for people who wanted the tremendous powers of the Dark Side without having to deal with the drawbacks it comes with. It's a stupid concept and shoud NOT be taken seriously besides mentioning them here and there. That's not to say there aren't Force Users out there who position themselves more "in the middle" of the Force Spectrum, however.... saying "in the middle" is tricky... since there isn't really a True "Middle Point" in the Force, there is only the Light and Dark Side. What really determines how much "in the middle" you are depends on how you view the universe and how you decide to use your powers... But regardless of your actions and morals.... you are always gonna be either a Ligh Force User or a Dark Force User, there is no such thing as a "Grey Force User" or a "Neutral Force User".

Julio Castillo

LIGHT SPOILERS BELOW Just like there are Jedi who become stagnant and dogmatic by blindly following the Jedi Code (coff coff Ki-Adi Mundi coff coff Mace Windu coff coff)... and Sith who forget the very reason why they turned to the dark and end up becoming just powerhungry individuals (the majority are like this due the corrupting nature of the Dark Side).... There also what i personally call "High-functioning" Jedi and Siths, people who follow the respective codes of their orders without falling into the extremes of Dogmatic thinking. Ahsoka is good example of the former while Ventress (for a time) was a good example of latter (Lana Beniko from The Old Republic is another example of a High-Functioning Sith Character). "Grey Jedi" was (for the most part) a simple power fantasy made by people who wanted to create self-insert characters who had all the power of the Dark Side but none of the drawbacks that come with it. Which is why i also think it is (mostly) a cringe concept as well. (And yes, Bendu is cringe as well).

Julio Castillo

uhh is Alicia aware of the fact that the Death Star doesn't exist yet? cause she's talking about how they're aware whole planets are being destroyed but that very much hasn't happened yet? Edit: Never fucking mind my comment was immediately invalidated within a literally second from pressing play, ignore me mister capital D Dumbass over here

Nym

counter point: being a sith is not good, that famously leads to death, destruction, and cruelty. I also don't see how gray jedi is a cringe concept, if you have the "pure good" jedi, and the "pure bad" sith it makes sense that a neutral faction would have existed, and IIRC the term is "Gray Jedi" because it was founded or populated by people who were originally jedi, really reaching into the memory banks for that though so it could be wrong.

Archie Curlz

Nice to see the return of the rat onesie

Raskilion

Love this series so much, really adds that personality and individuality to the clones that the movie lacked, my favorite thing I've heard someone say before is that the jedi aren't the main character of this series, but the clones

Archie Curlz

Being a Sith is good Alicia those emotions are what make us people. Edit: Grey Jedi as a concept are fucking cringe plus they shouldn't even be called Jedi since they wouldn't be following the Jedi code, so calling them Grey Jedi is stupid, they're just unaligned force users.

Nym

I perked up when he said THX-1138. It is a reference to George Lucas's first sci-fi film.

AntonPoisson

Just so you know, there is another series called "Bad Batch", and guess which squad is the main focus of that one

Faroth

You all def need to look into some of the extended sw lore as well especially the old republic shit is really fkin cool. Especially look into Darth Revan dude was the original chosen one who could put Vader and Yoda on their toes. Dude is the sole reason why mandolorians developed weapons to counter force powers. And gd man domino squad are the goats their story throughout the clone wars is on par with obi and anakin. This series really lets the clones shine

Nightmareman99

Jek 14 is a character Exlusive to LEGO Star Wars who is "in the middle". I won't say more but if you wanna check out the LEGO Star Wars short movies, that's a good reason for it.

N00B

As you said, the closet thing we got to a "Gray Jedi" are still pretty firmly Jedi, just ones who are a bit more emotionally available or who have personal problems with the Order. Like Jolee Bindo of Knights of the Old Republic. But I think the closets thing we got to a Canon Gray Jedi (Without maybe mentioning some spoilerly ones) is Qui-Gon Jinn. And he is very much still a Jedi. Edit: Didn´t see the other comment before this. Hence why I repeat the setuff about Qui-Gon. But there are other types of Force Users, through most of those are not as trained as Jedi, and are often very much linked to a specific Planet or Culture (And many were/are co-opted be/merged with the Jedi). Through I base that largely on Legends lore. I am unsure of how it is in the New Canon?

Ebofa

Fun Fact: Yes! There are, at least in the Legends (non-Disney) canon, many Force Using orders that are in between Jedi and Sith. For example there were the mythical Grey Jedi who believed in a balance between emotion and discipline and then, perhaps more canonically, there was the New Jedi Order built by Luke Skywalker. He allowed and encouraged his Jedi to love and even marry. Many of his knights and master having families of their own. He simply taught to be wary of selfishness.

Wil DeYoung

Qui Gon definitely does seem the most like he would align with gray jedi ideals, but it’s not really stated at any point in time. As for Mace Windu, i think his only real connection to the dark side (specifically in canon) is his combat style and his purple lightsaber. Regardless, as of right now there is no canon definition for what a gray jedi is. If the only requirement is a stable connection to both sides, then yes - they would probably count as gray jedi. But if it’s defined by its own separate order, then we don’t have that in canon yet.

It's The Quenchiest!

Wasn't Qui Gon Gin a "Gray Jedi"? For some reason I thought I heard he did believe in both methods of the force but used them for the light side, and the same with Mace Windu but I could be completely misremembering

Sev the Hollow

Plot koon?

Sev the Hollow

Do you know how little "best jedi" narrows it down

DankusMemes

Facts. She gonna cry for them super hard

DankusMemes

"John Boyega's clone" I think y'all forgot that no First Order Storm Troopers are Clones, it was literally a plot point that they were all stolen &/or orphans.

Jonathan Kennedy

i swear, people are gonna FLAME Alicia in the comments for all the hateful words to the clones XD but i KNOW she's gonna cry for them clones later on

Gavin Bickel

I once heard someone say the 99 is a part of some PR stunt the Kaminoans put together to show the clones they don't just get ground into protein paste if they are failures. I'm also convinced that this is what they would absolutely do if the Jedi did not have very clear signs of how they would react to such a protocol.

Wolfman

Oooo if Alicia loves 99 then she’ll love a certain Best Jedi

Fatbean2

There isn’t any canon example or statement of a gray jedi (an individual who upholds a balanced set of values of both the Jedi and Sith) I believe George Lucas despised the idea of them since he wanted the Jedi to be the true good side and the Sith to be the pure evil side. No in between. As for Individuals who either do not align with Jedi or Sith, or embrace the dark side while still fully upholding Jedi values, there are a few.

It's The Quenchiest!

Nerd time, I see this a lot with people getting into star wars. So there are 3 main types of white armor soldiers. Everyone always thinks they are all clones, they are not. Prequel era, republic clone troopers are clones. Original trilogy storm troopers are enlisted citizens (a few clones still remain in the military but were largely replaced, killed, or worse), sequel era first order storm troopers are abducted children.

Rellius6669

It takes 10 years for a clone to mature, not weeks. ;p
