They had plans for him but a lot of marvel projects have been getting canceled the last few years so they never managed to do anything else with him. Now there's talk that the MCU is going to be rebooted so sadly we may never get to see him in anything else marvel except Avengers Doomsday and secret war. If at all.

Awesome fight scenes with good choreography, great music, likeable characters, good writing, beautiful set pieces, an emotional heart to the movie, this one has it all. Disney can't seem to figure it out tho from here on out except for like 1 and a half more movies.

And the Korean version are called kumiho or gumiho. Unlike kitsune and huli jing, kumiho are said to be evil creatures that eat hearts or livers.

2025-04-23 08:33:20 +0000 UTCYeah Shang Chi was definitely one of the top 5 favourite superheros post endgame that people liked, like it’s up to everyone where they’d rank em but I think most top 5 new addition mcu hero list will have Shang chi, Yelena, Kate bishop, moon knight and Ms marvel. Yeah we will see Shang chi again but it won’t be in a sequel before the project (I’m not going say which tho) , one of the biggest flaws with this current saga were in is a lot of character that did successfully marvel didn’t job on quick like right, like we should’ve had a Shang chi 2 by now but for some reason they didn’t wanna get that ball rolling as soon as they should which is a shame

He was smart Hulk. He was the best of both worlds and he never change from that so what’s going on? Why was he in regular human form and if this was pre-game then why did they show up to fight in endgame?

It The short is initially a reporter interviewing Trevor in Federal Prison, until he reveals that he’s actually a Ten Rings assassin and the “real” mandarin is taking his name back.

When I saw the trailer and saw they actually casted Tony Leung I was shocked. Although he is a huge Chinese actor, I think this is his first US produced film. Michelle Yeoh was a pleasant surprise to show up. If you want to visit China, I hear Taiwan would be great to visit, because you get the Chinese culture without the CCP government.

It's getting tiring to need to keep up with all the connected characters with the TV shows and stuff. I know that's kinda the deal with comics but so many of the best comic runs are self-contained. If simply having an agenda really was the root cause behind those movies being bad then almost every marvel movie from the beginning would be terrible.

Her timing, humor, physical acting all while not drawing all the attention away from the main character but instead amplifying them. You couldn't ask for a better secondary character without powers.

2025-04-23 02:13:38 +0000 UTCHonestly, my only two complaints about this movie are that I would have preferred if it stayed more grounded at the end with the fight staying between Shang-Chi and Wenwu (I like what we got, but the hand-to-hand choreography was just sooooooo good, I wanted more. Do the supernatural stuff later. Although I'm really hoping we get Fin Fang Foom next time as he was the original owner of the rings in the comics), and I absolutely HATE that Xialing took over the Ten Rings at the end. I loved her character up until then cause it felt like all the development she had at Ta Lo was just thrown out the window. It just makes it hard to enjoy her at Ta Lo connecting with her brother and aunt and fighting a good fight, just to not just go back to crime but severely escalate it. Would make for a good conflict with Shang-Chi later, but still. Anyways, I love everything else. The fact that we haven't gotten a sequel yet or haven't even seen Shang-Chi again is fucking criminal. I love almost everything MCU, but this is some bullshit. At least he'll be in an upcoming movie. Hope he gets a major role.

It incorporates the three main styles of movie martial arts so well, from the comedic and Wushu style of Jackie Chan, to the serious and mystical styles of Jet Lee. If I'm remembering correctly, Disney worked with Jackie Chan's martial arts company to help choreograph the Wushu segments involving the bus and the scaffolding. IMHO, I believe Shang-Chi gota lot of misdirected hate. It came out between two of the worst MCU movies, and was declared woke because it mainly featured an Asian cast. I obviously couldn't disagree more. I've seen plenty of movies ruined by woke agendaism, and Shang-Chi is not one of them. It is definitely one of my favorites. I still tear up when the dad's memories of his son flash before his eyes in his final moments before he fulfils his promise to pass on the rings. In his thousand year journey, it wasn't power he sought, it was meaning, it was his wife, it was his children, it was his family.

This, Multiverse of Madness, No Way Home, and Guardians 3 are all amazing movies, and most of the shows are really good. Also, not to spoil anything, but we will see Shang Chi in more movies soon, both in a pretty big one and in this movie's sequel that is supposed to come out in a year or so.

Covid, then the Hollywood Strikes, followed by massive restructuring after Disney bought Fox. The director is currently Leading the Next Spider-man film, we’ll certainly see Shang-chi in the upcoming avengers stories but I can’t imagine we’ll be getting a full sequel before 2029.

Nothing wrong with a marvel movie with a heavy focus on Asian culture, especially when it's for a character and power idea that kinda originated from Asia. But it didn't look that interesting too me back when it came out. Maybe watching it through Alicia's reaction here will change my mind. I will say I did enjoy the involvement of the Ten Rings in the cartoon Iron Man Armored Adventures.
