Bix never told him about it, even if he asked what was going on between her and Cassian... how could he be sure she was telling the truth? she hasn't been honest about what she was really doing and Timm knows it. In his head... she was either cheating on him or Cassian was convincing her into becoming a criminal as well, because from his limited perspective... that's the only things that make sense. Timm's biggest sin was not having the full picture, and he did not deserve to die for that, Bix's expression when he was killed should be a confirmation of that.

Cassian killed the two in ep 1 to hide his identity, and he shot at the others because they shot first. But Syril was disarmed and held at gunpoint, so he wasn't a threat anymore, after all they already know Cassian is the killer.
