I feel like this entire thing was Marvel realizing she really needed magic to do the things she does in the comics and they kind of forgot that, so they had to find a way to make her learn magic.

2025-05-04 19:24:02 +0000 UTCThis show started very strong. But the more they tried to justify the unjustifiable and redeem the irredeemable, the more investment I lost in it. Just by throwing one-dimensional cliché villains at Wanda for her to defeat – like the Big-Bad-Military-Guy or the Oh-So-Evil-Witch – they can't undo her wrongs and make her a hero again. And Wanda didn't even repent, didn't accept responsibility for her actions – she just flew away from the problem as if it had nothing to do with her. To me it felt like this show began with a mesmerising graceful jump just to land face first into the mud.

And I kinda hate that wanda gets off scott free. But I loved the concept of this show, the first 2/3rds are so interesting and bingeable. The gimmick of jumping through the decades was such a cool love letter to sitcoms, and the mystery was engaging

Like, for gods sake. It was as easy as: yo' wanda, I know you will feel like a gut puch, but you know, your actual lovey dove is out there, probably hella confused, you could go find him instead of feeling like every hope is lost, you know, jiji. But no, he never tells her. WHY?

I then watched third spider man Loki season 1, falcon and winter soldier - and Dr. strange. and that's where I left the MCU. mostly because my life changed with Covid. lost contact with friends, cemented behaviours of not doing a lot of outside things, like going to theaters etc. but I don't regret not keeping up...

Also, I don't know if anyone else has explained yet or not but just in case: Monica can transform her body, see and control pretty much any form of energy (including gamma, the stuff that made the Hulk as well as magic and other stuff). That's why her vision was so trippy when she came out of the other side of the barrier, she was seeing the electromagnetic spectrum. I'm guessing the bullet thing was just turning her body into a form of energy that made her intangible and then she took the kinetic energy from the bullets so they just dropped to the ground. In the comics Monica is a major powerhouse on the level of Captain Marvel, Hulk and the Sentry (who shows up later)

Elizabeth felt uncomfortable showing so much cleavage in the Avengers and asked for an outfit that wasn't so titillating. So? In her new outfit? It's bare shoulders instead of bare cleavage. I like this for her.

The writers and directors of Multiverse Of Madness were always set up for failure, unfortunately, because they never had a chance to watch Wandavision, they were quite literally working with a different understanding of the story from what ended up happening. But yes it was mad goofy fo sho it flies in the face of the entire character arc of this series
